Always excellent magic which did not disappoint. HOWEVER, we only saw two shows as the Sunday evening crowd was just too many people. After waiting in line for a third show and copious people saving spots in line, we did not get in after we...were assured by a staffer early on we were in good shape. Hand out tickets or staff it to not allow one person to hold a space for five more friends. Our dinner reservation was honored on time and service from Alan excellent. Drinks prices for Grey Goose at the higher end of pricing $42 for a double). Wines were about $20. Dinner entrees $50 plus with sides $16 each. That is after paying the entrance fee and valet parking fee. So bring your wallet. Lots of steps and limited seating in waiting areas. Lots of standing. It is still a magical spot for a very special evening. By invitation only, so find a member to get an invite. Bring a photo ID for all members. Formal dress required and checked. Suits, ties for guys. No denim, sneakers.More

If you are fortunate and can secure an invitation, this venue promises not to disappoint. It is formal, so mind the dress code. The restaurant menu is traditional and well prepared. Service is excellent. The Beef Wellington is a great choice. Drinks are well prepared....While the drinks and the food are up to expectation, most go for the magic performances which are outstanding. There is ample opportunity to experience magic up close and personal. Several rooms in this old Victorian mansion add to the mystique and intimacy. If you enjoy magic, this is the best way to experience it.More

My spouse is a member. The Magic Castle ruined a very special night for us by having a rude, condescending group of staff members . From the Valet to the manager and everyone in between. They treat there brown owners as second class citizens. We’ve...been there several times before. The food is dated but the experience has always been pleasant. However, I was appalled by the way that staff chose to respond to us today. If you value common, decent treatment of all people, I recommend that you do not waste your time here. What used to be a pleasant experience is now an embarrassing example of entitlement. This may be an “exclusive” club but they showed zero class tonight.More

Best entree? #1: Colorado rack of lamb. Medium rare. Tender, tasty, no regrets! #2: Prime rib. Again, very tender and tasty. Generous portion. Probably best choice if you’re really hungry. #3: Beef Wellington. It may be their signature dish, but it was only fair in...my opinion. Nothing to hate. It’s a tenderloin filet mignon cooked in a thin dough. Very, very tender, decent size, but far less flavorful. FYI: The main ticket act was unbelievable! He did the impossible over and over! Well worth it. The other acts were entertaining, but not life changing.More

Get the world-famous Beef Wellington, you won't regret it. And order the Garlic Bread as an appetizer. This place is what life-time memories are made of.

We had a wonderful family experience here at a Saturday brunch. Nathan and Liam who was only 19 was brilliant. They’re so talented. The children loved the invisible piano planner also. Improvements, the food and drinks are expensive. If they made these cheaper people would...drink much more.More

There are so many fun things here, like the piano that plays itself when you request a song, the bar stools, the owl on the wall....the magic that is performed in several different rooms is amazing ! The food was very good and I enjoyed...getting dressed up as suits are required for men. What a special unique building full of charm !More

It's not often you get to do "dinner and a magic show" so this was all a bit of a treat. The service was excellent and our server was very attentive. I got the Beef Wellington which was incredible and went well with a glass...of red wine. I think part of the experience is the mystique of The Magic Castle and not knowing exactly everything about how the evening is supposed to go. The magic show is more of a display of sleight of hand but it was an enjoyable experience nonetheless. If you're a big fan of magic you might have higher expectations but you shouldn't walk away disappointed. The downside is you can't take any pictures inside, but I think that adds a bit more to the mystery of the Magic Castle as well. Dress attire is also an absolute requirement so be sure to pack a suit or nice dress if you're traveling.More

Well, this is a place you must try to visit in Los Angeles. I say try cause you need to be either member of the Magic Castle or being invited by a member. It is really an unique experience to try. The place and atmosphere...is amazing and has no equal and the magic shows are superb. The food is so so in my opinion and a little overpriced, but you pay for the experience more than the food.More

The restaurant at the MC was easily the best experience of our three week USA holiday. Our server (Michael) was outstanding, the food was worth travelling halfway around the world for, and the atmosphere at the club was out of this world

If you like good food, great drinks in multiple bars, and non-stop magic throughout the entire Victorian mansion...this is unforgettable. Steaks, rack of lamb, lamb shank melt in your mouth. Extensive wine list and full bar, including MC classic cocktails (if you like old fashioned,...dont miss the bourbon one here). Magicians are scattered throughout the house...from relatively large stages, to much smaller shows in the multiple bars. After entering, you are free to wonder and sample the shows and drinks. Dinner is in 3 seatings in a setting that makes you feel like you're in Victorian London. While this is a private club for magicians worldwide, it is possible to make reservations as noted on their website., but make sure to plan in advance and be prepared for expense.More

The Magic Castle is enchanting and worth seeing at least once while living in Los Angeles. Despite it's difficult entry, the food is among the worst we've ever had at this price point. Flavorless, unimaginative. Best to get drinks at the Castle, and ignore the...restaurant side all together.More

I will be brutally honest with this review.. the magic for the MOST PART is pretty silly. There are a few choice acts I have seen there over the years that are pretty cool, but I would not say worth the price you end up...paying to be there. The last time I went with my SO so that he could experience it once, and it was just so he could see the building. The interior of the castle is seriously the best part of the whole thing. It is unique and intricate and decorated so fabulously it is beautiful. The last time we were there we had reserved dinner for six. One of my friends no showed and they did not still charge us for six they dropped the charge to five. The wait staff though was prickly and rude despite most of us ordering alcoholic beverages and entrees. It was like the waitress was put off right from the get go that we didnt pad the bill with appetizers. We tried our best to be strategic to catch as many shows as possible. This landed us at three. One part of one show was very impressive the rest was just kind of silly. Oh also if you show up and your man is not in black tie with a jacket and tie they will lend it to you. Dress code is formal and is enforced.More

Not cheap. You have to pay an entrance fee (I think it's around $50, there's a minimum for dinner, but figure at least $120 plus 10 drinks at $10 is another $100. So probably at least $250
