This place would be one that you would "pass by", but give it a try. Our GPS took us to this location and we didn't know if we really wanted to go into it. Stop and go in. The very well decorated interior and very good staff make it worth your while. The food was excellent, real Italian cuisine and that desert of the Chocalate cake was unreal. Authentic place to enjoy a wonderful quiet meal with family or friends. Don't miss it.

Had a great time with friends at Dattilo’s. Live music was fun. Food is REAL Italian and terrific, delicious! Unless you like generic American Italian. Reminded me of my trips to Rome. I highly recommend Dattilo’s with chef Marcantonio

CAUTION: Save room for dessert! After a plate of delicious spaghetti and meatballs marinara, I was full. But when I saw the dessert cart, I wanted some... Maybe next time. If you love dessert, be sure to keep a little space in your stomach for Datillo's decadent creations. If you are passing through Hemet on your way to somewhere more exotic and exciting ( San Diego, Palm Springs, LA) DON'T PASS up Dattilo Ristorante on Florida Avenue. This goes double if you are a pizza or pasta lover. Some of the best red sauce I've ever eaten and their meatballs melt in your mouth. This is an old world kind of place; somewhere you'd expect Dean Martin or the Italian tenors to be playing over the PA. It's somewhere you can take the kids and not worry that the other diners or the wait staff will be annoyed that you brought them along. Plus, it would be very difficult to not find at least ONE THING your children will eat, given Datillo has an extensive menu of classic dishes. It's not a huge restaurant, but it's plenty big enough to host your birthday parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, employee dinners, all special occasion stuff. In fact, when I visited, there was a birthday party going on for an Italian-American lady who had just turned 107. Yeah, 107! See what eating good food does for you? My only regret is that it took me five years of living in the Inland Empire to discover this place.

This is where I go when I want to eat authentic Italian food. This is a family-run restaurant with great service. I am looking forward to going there when there is music.

We used to live in SoCal, stationed at Camp Pendleton when a colleague instructed us to Dattilos; we were blown away by the delicious and exquisite culinary expertise and the traditional warm and friendly and old-world form in which it was delivered. My cousins owned an outstanding and popular restaurant in Italy for decades, and Dattilos was family run like theirs - perfecto! We flew in on an afternoon flight to Palm Springs and drove our rental directly to dine at Dattilos. We miss our sainted patriarch Maria Dattili visiting us at our table as she had tens of times before selling her homemade bread, but chef Marc Anthony continues to amaze; what a blessed gift he has taking family recipes and increasing our love for the dishes he prepares. I enjoyed my tender "chicken Christina", a breast with crab meat and fresh fettuccini; the sauce was to die for. My wife loved her of the menu special - a perfectly grilled salmon. Service by another Datillo granddaughter was with her family trademark of cheer and friendly conversation while she conscientiously cared for numerous tables at a time. We ordered a litre of Dattilos Merlot wine; it was still the same quality it has been and with a very reasonable $20 price that hasn't changed in years. Truffles for dessert was fabulous, but my favorite was still available on resquest - family made lemoncello from the trees on the premises. We may not be able to dine at our favorite Italian restaurant for another long while, but will savor this visit until we do.

This was our first time here and we found it to be a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. It was quiet when we went as it was mid-afternoon. The service was good. Didn't have to wait long for the things we ordered. The food was delicious and didn't feel like too much or too little. We recommend it if you in the Hemet area.

Our favorite Italian Restaurant in Hemet. Real Old Time Italian foods. Made from scratch. Always a good time and Fabulous food. Husband's favorite Seafood Alfredo, Mine Chicken Parmigiana (melts in your mouth) Grandsons and their Mom Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. It doesn't matter what you order you will love it. Fresh salad, great bread. We Love the Double Chocolate Cake for dessert (we are chocoholics) but they have many of Italian favorites. Fri and Sat are busy days so you might want to make reservations as they have live music those nights. They also have specialty breads to buy avail usually Fri and Sat. They are closed the last Sun of every month. Closed for now on Mon and Tue opens for lunch and Dinner Wed - Sun.

Each order is made fresh. We come here to dine, as it takes a while for dinner to be made. Each dish I have eaten was just as good as the last, but I am partial to the Chicken Marsala....hubby loves the Chicken Parmesan...I believe it is in our future this coming week.

My wife and I took some friends out for dinner to celebrate an event and they suggested Dattilo so off we went. They did warn us it was noisy. We went mid-week around 4:30 and they were not too busy. The menu is comprehensive and prices about what I expected. I ordered the chicken parmesan and thought it was very good. I guess we were lucky this day because there was no one setting near us and only two other tables were occupied, but even so the acoustics in this building are not the best. High ceilings and echo and sound travel like in a large cathedral. We did have a pleasant dinner with good company. In June my wife and I decided to try it again. This visit was more than we bargained for. The hostess sat us around the fountain which was pleasant but before we ordered a large family walked in with about a dozen adults and 6-8 children and took over two rows of tables on the west end of the restaurant immediately to our right. The children had one row of tables and the adults the adjacent tables. From that point on normal conversation was next to impossible as the children were loud with no apparent parental control and 10+ adults all taking continually. I guess I realize this is a family restaurant but the owners seriously need to do something to break up the acoustic echo and travel. I know there are solutions and the owners should already know this is a problem. I doubt that we will go back as a quiet atmosphere is appreciated when we are paying premium for a quality dinner.

Four of us had dinner at Datillo last week. I had a sneak preview of the menu online, and was prepared to be in Italian food heaven. Unfortunately, I didn't quite get there. When we first arrived, it took a few minutes for us to be acknowledged by staff, and then she said, "I'll be with you in just a minute", and disappeared for about 5. Hmmmm . . . I ordered the Veal Marsala, as did my friend. My husband ordered linguine pescatore, and said it was very good, and my friend's husband ordered Fettucini Alfredo and also said it was very good. Okay, so the veal - it was somewhat tough and had gristle running through it - rather odd for veal. The sauce was sweet - supposed to use dry Marsala, not sweet. The garlic pasta accompanying the veal was OVERWHELMING, and that's not easy to do with me, as I LOVE garlic. One of our friends ordered the antipasta for all of us to share - it was pitiful to say the least. Note that this place is cavernous and noisy - chairs scraping on the tile is loud and nasty, and doesn't make for a nice ambience. (They need to enlist the services of somebody's Granny to knit chair booties (: Anyway, perhaps my friend and I just ordered something that wasn't to our liking - I might give them another try someday.

Okay I am sorry for not checking in, taking pictures, my usual. I was so hungry, the smells were so good. Italian heaven on earth, in Hemet California. It was a business lunch before heading home. Something different was in order. We lived in San Jacinto Hemet area for a year and never stopped at this place. Bummer, bummer, bummer. I promise to make up for it. Maria took our order. I ordered the Leek soup, and the Lasagna. Tammy ordered the Crab Ravioli, Howard ordered the Chicken Jerusalem. The first thing Maria brought to the table was the bread. I could eat a whole loaf of that and I almost did. When she delivered the salads and my soup, I was already in eating euphoria from the bread, the Leek Soup... Best I have had in a restaurant. If I could have licked the bowl, I would have. She next delivered our lunches. I tried Howard's first, outstanding. The sauce was rich, the pasta excellent, the flavors I have not had before. He didn't eat it all, I took it with me, I will eat it when we get home. Tammy's Crab Ravioli was in a tomato base cream sauce. I was euphoric again. How does someone learn to cook that magnificent? My Lasagna was so delicious I forgot to ask for another bite of everyone else's. The sauce was a fresh exquisitely made tomato base. The pasta fresh, layered with ricotta, meatballs, and Italian sausage. Magnificent! I can't wait to go back and have the Veal saltimbocca Alla Romana. Thank you Maria, I am forever grateful to have tasted your food. See you in August

Maria the owner is super nice . Very personable. When you go there you can’t feel rushed. They make all their food from scratch and with a sense of pride. My favorite is the Veil Scallopini . There rustic bread is so good -you can make meal out of that with a salad and a glass of wine. Look at there specials as well. Friday night they have music. I would call first to see who they have. On the side Maria makes her rustic bread for sale and she makes her bread cakes for sale . I have bought both for parties and dinners. Very reasonable. The family has been around for a long time and well known. Very nice place for a romantic date night.
