Words can’t convey how incredibly thankful I am for finding Flying Fish in HMB. I have been planning an event for 40+ people for over 2 months. The owner, David, went so above and beyond to help me plan... change menus several times and just overall try and accommodate several changes for my event. That in itself was wonderful. Sourcing special wine, helping me with special menus, special diet restrictions and much more. Then we arrived tonight. Incredible. All the food was just spot on. Cooked perfectly, didn’t feel like it was an event as it felt special and the service was wonderful and attentive. Special shout out to Philippe (Felipe?) who was my server twice and was an absolute rockstar!! If you want dinner for 2 or dinner for 50... this is your place! Thank you David for such a memorable evening! (PS, your moules and frittes were some of the best I’ve ever had)

Ate here for our main meal at lunch. It was fairly empty in the outside eating area, tho they made it a pleasant garden. It has a view of the parking lot, but the seating area is pleasant, tho the chairs are uncomfortable and I ended up with my back being a bit sore. The tea was good, but for $4 I expect refills of hot water, which I didn't get. The server was pleasant. I ate the Pacific Wrap, which I thought was very good, and filling. I had a cup of Artichoke soup, which was rather bland tasting, and too much food for me to enjoy a dessert. My spouse had a Salmon BLT, which was filling but very good. Overall, it was a nice lunch, but I don't think we would go back immediately, as there are other restaurants to try out.

My son and I had lunch here today. We showed up right at opening, 11:30 am, to secure an outdoor table on their back patio. Most tables were at least partially shaded by an overhead trellis or an umbrella, and an attractive mural was on the wall on our side, under the trellis. We ordered the brussels sprouts with parmesan for appetizer, and sandwiches: the salmon BLT for me, and the Pacific wrapp for my son. The sandwiches were both delicious, as were their included sides: perfectly crisp french fries, which we enjoyed with the malt vinegar on the table, as well as a coleslaw with a couple of sweet touches (pineapple and dried cranberries). My only complaints were that the appetizer took a long time to come out, and when it did, the brussels sprouts were too crispy and overfried for our tastes (it was hard to even tell they were vegetables). But, aside from that one disappointment, the meal was thoroughly delicious, and I saw many more items I'd like to try in the future.

Pace of service was glacial, food was very underwhelming. The sea bass came with a gravy that overpowered the fish, the cabbage on the plate was raw. We’d been here a few years ago with much different outcome; not sure what happened to this restaurant.

Very upset, my husband got the crab cakes, or I should say meatball size good, but so small for $12, he also got rice, for $4, tiny container, and rice also $4. The rice was awesome, not very much, the beans tasted like out of a can with no spice. The shrimp tacos were very gooey the shrimp had good flavor, but the rest not edible, I think if they kept them on the side maybe they could have been a little crispy, and maybe. they could have been better. $80 dollars, and we came home to make dinner. We got our food and tried to eat in the car. so we didn't even wait 5 minutes, should have been better.

We ate outside for a nice lunch meal, where the tables were separated well, and the staff wore masks. The food was well-presented and almost too pretty to eat. I had the prawn salad which was delicious and filling, and my spouse had the Salmon BLT with avocado on a foccacia bun. Both of us were satisfied and had no room for dessert, unfortunately. The restaurant does charge a fee for credit and debit cards, but that is understandable.

We spent a day at the beach after we walked the Coastline trail and decided to eat at Flying Fish and Grill before we head home. Super delicious sea food, and amazing hospitality makes this place to one of our favorite restaurants in the Bay area. Highly recommended 👌

What happened to us, well for an hour we had no food, had to ask for water… First they are out of items while trying to order, when we place the order we think ok. My colleague’ order came out after 30 minutes and confused the waiter. He thought the meal came out too early and actually said someone else’s loss. Me and another college ordered 2 fish tacos, simple right? Wrong…. No food came our way and all of the staff were confused

I've eaten here before. This time the menu seemed better with a nice variety. Outdoor dining was available at 2pm without waiting. We enjoyed the Mahi tacos and two small crab cakes.

Due to a time constraint, we didn't want to be in the more crowded Princeton area where we would have had to wait to be seated at a restaurant there. We found the Flying Fish Grill quite by surprise and couldn't have been more pleased. We were seated immediately, although when we left an hour or so later, every table was taken.
We were happy to see so many vegetarian options on the menu. My husband and son had fish tacos which they said were delicious. I had the salmon tostada which was outstanding. Beautiful presentation and every bite was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer. It was so flavorful, wow, but definitely not enough. Was a bit too small of a portion. We each got 1.5 pieces and they were tiny pieces.
We found the service to be outstanding, friendly and attentive.
If we are ever back in the area again, we will certainly eat at the Flying Fish Grill again.

family of 6. food came out piecemeal. one fish meal was raw. sent back and returned after the rest of us were done eating. charged us 3% credit card fee on top of cost of food. this fee is not supposed to be charged. told them not to charge us the fee but they did anyway as they charge your card at your table and hand you the charge receipt after it is completed.

Decided to grab some take out lunch to take to the beach to eat. They do have outside dining but it is basically tables set up in the parking lot. Not any atmosphere at all. However, takeout was a great option. We ordered the salmon BLT with fries - wow it was good and huge. Would definitely get again. Also got the 3 piece Fish & chips with fries - which was also very good. Three good size pieces of fish, not too heavy a coating, just right and super crispy. The french fries were also very good. Had a good flavor and very crispy. I think they also had sweet potato fries but we were not offered an option so did not know that until I saw them being served outside. Would definitely go here again if in the area. Good price based on the quantity and quality of the food. I took a photo of the fish & chips I thought but didn't come out so can only share the BLT.

Stopped by here to grab lunch while visiting HMB in late May. Minimal wait to get seated. Place had most tables occupied and was quite lively. Pretty spacious inside. Interesting decor. Had the Surf and Turf, which was New York steak and 5 good sized grilled prawns. Steak was cooked perfectly and prawns were very flavorful. Wife did a mix of tacos- mahi mahi, cod and coconut prawns. Pretty delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. The only thing I didnt care for was the 3% charge for using a credit card?? Overall, we enjoyed our lunch here and will come back.

Ok, kinda cute kitschy decor, we were hopeful. Pleasant servers, tho odd to be asked if both of us wanted water. We both had pretty drinks, one was medium good & served with an orchid which was nice, the other was below average, small & served without ice. We started with artichoke soup & it tasted like cream of chicken soup, no detectable artichoke flavor. Cioppino was tasty but the butter clams were very old tasting although the cod was very good. The garlic bread was yummy. My dish, the scallop salad was good except the scallops were so small (about the size of a nickel) that they were almost a side note of the salad. The greens & strawberries were delicious and lots of pecans, a little weird to get a hard chunk in the midst of pecans, that was the bacon bits, old, hard & prefab, would have been better without & I love bacon, just not like that. All in all it was pretty disappointing when one expects good fresh food around here. We would not recommend despite so many glowing reviews.

This is a great old restaurant. The food is perfect, and it is very pleasant.
It is hard to find, because it is in a small way that looks like a factory and then turn right. There’s not a lot of people, so the food fast arrived our table.
I think the shrimp taco is a little bit sour, they add something I think.
