People line up here for lunch 15 minutes before it opens. Why? Because, they server fresh local fish impeccably prepared. Their soups and other sides are creatively seasoned and served. It's just no-nonsense, fresh, quality seafood and worth the coastal price tag.

Was not looking forward to going here for brunch but friends insisted it was great, so we went and it was very good. I wished I had been in the mood to try some of their fresh fish but it didn't appeal to me for brunch. You choose your fish and how it is cooked and sauces to go on it, would like to go back and do that for dinner. I ended up getting the coconut shrimp which was very good came with a little side of white rice, also ordered a cup of clam chowder which was one of the best I have ever had.

After eating at Pacific Fish Shop last summer we knew we had to stop here and we are so glad we did. My kids were hungry for fish and chips and were so happy with how good they were! I had the shrimp taco and the special Elote fish taco. I love how you can choice your seasoning when you order. Both were so delicious and I wished for more! The fish and shrimp were seasoned well and I loved the sauces on them! Every time we are near any of the Fish Shop locations this is where we will stop to get our fish tacos!

Visited for oyster special on Thursday night. Oysters are $1.50 each.Four types of oysters, two from Baja and two from Washington State. Oysters were very good, shuckers were not particularly skilled however, lots of shell chips., had fish tacos an$ fries as well. They were good, a bit too much cabbage and sauce that covered up the fish in my opinion. Really slow and chaotic ordering process. Planned beer for oyster special was not available and they didn’t substitute another. Service was lackadaisical and less than welcoming.

five adults came to this Encinitas Fish Shop. After waiting in line for 25 minutes, we sat outside to await our dinners to be brought out. The dishes were brought out slowly so we could not al eat at the same time. One dinner never arrived. We had to find a server and ask them , They apparently forgot to put in that order, So one person in our group watched us eat and finally got his meal after we were all finished. The calamari was also disappointing. Very small and over cooked making it tastless. For $130 expected a better experience and meal

We came here based on the recommendations of our local CA family, since this is their “go-to” place for Fish dishes. We were a party of ten people, 3 of which were kids.
We, out-of-town people had to get used to their ordering process, but it was really easy. There is a large variety of fish, as well as Sauces, and methods of preparation. You choose your fish, order how you want it (baked, fried, on a Salad, in a Taco or on in a Sandwich), and then go wait at your table where they bring it to you. They cook everything fresh according to individual specifications. Their Onion Rings (which we selected as a side) were huge and delicious.
All of us ordered different things, and everybody was pleased – not an easy feat for a family with kids who are picky eaters.
Their outdoor patio is large and comfortable. The prices were fairly reasonable, and the Staff is friendly and helpful.
Cannot wait to return.

We enjoyed dinner at the Fish Stop while visiting Encinitas after a recommendation from a local. We loved the atmosphere. We tried 4 of the different fresh fish plates and they were all excellent. Sea bass, Ahi, and Mahi Mahi all very nice. Fish was prepared well and the sides were all good. We particularly liked the seaweed salad onion rings and cole slaw.

Saw the reviews and was really craving fresh fish. Line wasn’t terrible when I got there, but it took forever to order. Not sure about the hold. Since I was on line for so long, I was really able to study the menu. Settled on blackened swordfish with jasmine rice and the vegetable medley. So yummy! Vegetables cooked to perfection. I hate when veggies are over cooked. Good portion size. Sometimes when you get blackened fish, the seasoning is salty or just overwhelming. This was perfect. Could really enjoy the freshness of the fish.
Very busy for a Thursday night in Jan. To the point I wasn’t sure that I would be able to find a table which made me decide to take my food to go. Parking lot very tight, had to park a few blocks away.

The older manager/ waiter that works in the outside bar. He is so rude and obnoxious. Treat us like second citizen. We asked for a bucket of ice for our wine. The 2 guys , the older waiters there , there is only 2 everyone else is young. Horrible people. Been coming to this place for 9 years . I would never come back again. They need to be fired those guys! Look if you don’t want to work and get free paycheck , go ahead and don’t work. Is not our fault you have to work in a restaurant . With that attitude no one will tip you. I would never come back again and believe me I know so many people in Enicnitas Cardiff . I would make my purpose to get people NOT to go to this place again !!

House chowder with lots of clams and sausage. Fresh, well seasoned, Poke. Swordfish with garlic butter & seaweed - all fantastic. Very reasonable prices for the excellent quality, service, variety and freshness.

We had the coconut scrimp and 4 different kinds of tacos. The scrimp were very good and we definitely could have had more! We enjoyed the tacos - one was a bit bland (can't remember which one) but the other 3 were very good. Maybe a bit pricey but we really enjoyed it.

came with a friend that frequents here. great outdoor seating for people watching. onion rings are le git. had diablo mahi tacos. wow. so good. great music over head and plenty of heaters on a chilly eve.

Found this on TA and happy we stopped in for lunch. I had their special taco of the day, mahi with chorizo. Topped with quac and cabbage. Outstanding. I could taste everything in the taco. We also had fish and chips and chowder. Everything very good. Nice beer selection as well.

Yum! We stopped here for lunch. Big dining room with the windows open. Order at the counter; food brought to your seat.
Menu had an awesome selection of seafood...lots of fresh fish options (swordfish, mahi mahi, shrimp), with choices to be grilled, fried, in a taco, etc.
A swordfish taco was super tasty, with perfectly grilled fish and tasty toppings. Coleslaw alongside was vinegar (v. mayo) based and refreshing. Fish and chips were really great; the fish wasn't greasy and the crunch was just right.
Nice selection of craft beers and a really helpful staff.
Perfect stop for lunch in a seaside town!
