I every once in a while ,crave KFC crunchy fried chicken and their mashed potatoes with gravy and buns. Until recently I had never tried Popeyes and I'm a convert. Just off the freeway (I-80) on Antelope Road, this Popeyes was nearly empty when we stopped for lunch. Counter help, Andrei, pointed out the special currently being advertised on TV: four pieces of chicken for $5. Next thing you know, I've got four good-sized breasts...and my wife has her preferred thighs and wings. We left with three breasts, a thigh and wing. Enjoyed 'em next day for lunch and still had leftovers. Gotta say the chicken was really good, crispy and delicious. Same for the side of fries, also a generous serving. Much better than the Colonel. How do you beat eight pieces of your choice for $10? We hope they keep this deal going for a long time.More
