A few years ago, I gave this place a very favorable review. Yesterday's lunch was awful! Tasted like reheated leftovers from the day before. Clumps of rice, congealed sauce around my General Tso chicken, a few dried out pieces of broccoli. Too bad. Have to...find another go-o Chinese restaurant.More

We ordered Mongolian Beef and Combination Fried rice. Both dishes were delicious and ample size orders. I look forward to trying other meals from their selections! The prices were also very fair!

We are basically walking distance from this place, so it's super convenient and I love that it now offers online ordering (pickup only) on Yelp 24, which makes it even more so. But if the food wasn't good, none of that would matter. Luckily, it...is good. Some of the best Mongolian Beef we've found, and we're picky. Egg rolls are delicious and the servings are plentiful. The staff is friendly and the pricing is a good value, especially when you consider there's enough for another meal for two. We'll continue to go to this local favorite.More

Just returned from a very reasonably priced, delicious weekday lunch at First Wok. Who knew this little storefront is manned by the Chinese chef "to the stars" from years gone by. I remember going to Jimmy Wong's on Wabash as a college student. It was...very well known in its day. Our lunch special consisted of egg roll, fried rice and Orange chicken (husband had Mongolian beef) for $6.25 each! Portions were large and well made. My only complaint was eating from carry out containers and using plastic utensils. There are 4 tables for dining in, and it would be much more pleasant to eat with normal dishes and utensils inside the restaurant.More

I've eaten two family meals at this wonderful oriental restaurant - food is fresh, freshly prepared, and sumptuous - from Beef Kow to Shrimp with Lobster Sauce to Chicken Chop Suey and more! The owner has over forty years experience crafting amazing cuisine (started in...Chicago, moved to New York, and now is in southwest suburban Chicago)and it shows. The egg rolls are homemade and the best I have had anywhere in decades! Portions are generous and prices are fair. This is a great place for take out and an acceptably small "store front" to dine in - the lack of ambience is more than compensated by the food. This place is an unpretentious gem of a restaurant - don't miss it if you ever get near Homer Glen, IL!More

Herein lies a piece of history. There was a time in the 1960s when any Hollywood star in town made a stop at the famous Jimmy Wong's downtown. Kup's Column (Sun-Times) always had an blurb about what star showed up there. When you walk into...this tiny take-out place, you can now see Jimmy cooking up your food. While you wait, you can see him, back in his old restaurant, seated with Jimmy Durante, Nancy Wilson, Jerry Lewis and so many other mid-century notables. Let;s face it, there isn't much difference in Chinese-American fare, so this trip down my childhood memories sets this place apart from other nearby Asian restaurants.More
