This is a local cafe offering coffee, food, and views of Taal hills and lake. Entry to the cafe snakes its way down from the main road and opens into the main dining hall. Tables are arranged around the different levels offering direct or some...obstructed views of the hills. We only ordered drinks including local coffee. The espresso offerings were good. We also ordered a berry cheesecake. The cake was smooth and silky with berry compote cutting through the richness. A good stop for a cup of coffee by itself or with food.More

Neither of us were really hungry so we decided to split one of the breakfast meals. The meal was delicious. The service was excellent. And the view was inspiring. This alone made the trip to Tagaytay worth it!

The best way to start the day is a breakfast at Charito. Easy to find, just off the main highway in Tagaytay. We were early and could easily get a place to park, when we left at 9:30am the parking lot was full, the earlier...the better I guess. They have a beautiful terrace with an amazing view, that alone got us in the right mood, the setting is just unbelievable. The service team there was good, not as good as at Breakfast at Antonio's but they got the job done. We had breakfast and the portion size is quite good, and the food was good, we had some eggs, bacon, pancake etc. Was it the best breakfast food I ever had - no, but combined with the view and overall setting it was just a great start into the day.More

The view of the Taal Lake is gorgeous from this restaurant. Staff are welcoming though its kinda difficult to get their attention if we needed them as we were seated at the corner facing the lake. The food was delicious and they prepared it quite...fast. Overall I recommend this restaurant if you want a good food with a good view.More

The original structure that now houses a restaurant was built in 1970. It is owned and was used as a summer house by the Diaz Family. Today it's a lovely restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor dining. The salas are very elegant and the...foods are great! However, it is always full of diners at lunch and dinner time and reservation is not allowed. Hence, the waiting time can be quite long and parking lot hard to find.More

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but no longer. Although both my wife and I are fully vaccinated, we were denied service today because I am too old! The hostess insisted the age limit is an LGU rule, we had no difficulty...getting lunch just a couple blocks away.More

Bag of beans has many branches in Tagaytay, but I like Charito the best. Came here for after dinner coffee. This restaurant setting of a grand house with beautiful table and furniture. Had coffee, chocolate and pastry. It is overlooking the ridge and I can...imagine the view during daytime. The night view is the house itself.More

Went there on a Tuesday. Had to ask 3x before someone finally took our order. Requested if we can transfer to another table because a big plant is in front of us, was told that the table is only for 2 person. But when it...rained they transfered us to a same size table inside. Had to follow up my Coffee refill 3x. Heard 2 staff talking the "excuse" they will give to another customer. In short (and you can also read in the other comments) Staff not accommodating, bad slow service. There are many other resto in tagaytay with great view, good food and better service.More

Ordered the country breakfast (2 pancakes, bacon, 2 sausages and 2 eggs) at 8:37am got served at 9:20am. The sausages were cold and the bacon was more hard than crispy, the effect that you get when grease hardens when cold. So i waited for more...than 40 mins only to get served cold food. I am assuming while the other components of my order was being prepared, they cooked the bacon and sausages in batches and would just get some as orders came in. So by the time they processed my order, the bacon and sausages that i got were cold. The restaurant was 80% capacity so it was not even at their limits. The restaurant is a converted house so i suspect the kitchen doesn't have the capacity to serve a restaurant of that size so they made shortcuts in the preparation. Even then i had to wait for more than 40 minutes. For 450 bucks for the dish, I was expecting more. A that price point, I'd give other options a try. Great view though.More

We were greeted and offered to choose our seats. We were about 10 mins seated with no help. I stood up to fetched a waiter and if there was none we were ready to leave to change resto. However an assistant saw me and follow...me to our table and took our orders. My sister’s order- grilled salmon...it doesn’t taste like grilled. Only the surface had the grilled mark. My order- chicken teriyaki - It’s not hot enough like newly cook. My husband’s order-roast beef. He had complaint that the meat was stewed... it’s not roasted. It’s full of fat. Though he finished cuz of hunger. The service afterwards was satisfactory where I asked to parcel the unfinished chicken and fresh lumpia.More

The foods were average. Price is a little bit higher just like any restaurants with overlooking view of Taal. The place was not crowded but I thinl it's better to visit the Bag of Beans main branch at Mendez Crossing.

No dress code. Just bring you vax card and valid ID. Be prepared to wait once you have listed your name. The place is always jampacked and the parking lot as well. Try to come early.
