Oh wow we had this as a recommendation and we were so thankful because it was perfect . We had a sweetbreads followed by a Lamb and a steak the meat was so tender and tasty. We also had a good couple of sauces BBQ and Chutney , Chilli assortment and sun dried tomato all exceptional. my partner enjoyed his fig salad whilst I enjoyed the baked potato. We had a very delicious jug of homemade lemonade we struggled to eat everything but felt a desert was needed so settled on pancake and ice cream - another great choice. The three staff who served us were very helpful and a big shout out to Flora for her kindness and service.
Happy to recommend you won’t be disappointed.

Large modern room, a little away from the main street.
Excellent welcome and professional service.
Nice choice of meat. That day we took a beef tomahawk (big rib for 2). Perfect cooking to our liking (healthy), accompanied by various grilled vegetables... and a Malbec at soft prices (€17)
Everything was perfect.
A good address.

Slightly off the main street in town, this establishment offers the finest dining in El Chalten and an expansive Argentina wine selection. A wonderful dining experience with a great view of Mount Fitz Roy. We started with a bottle of Colome Altura Maxima Malbec which we enjoyed with appetizers of eggplant bruschetta and delightful Argentina sausages that were served with house made hot sauce. As the sun set, we ordered a bottle of Catena Zapata Malbec. For our entrees we had a large portion of guanaco with whipped Japanese sweet potatoes, a pork shoulder steak finished with mustard and chutney, beet ravioli pasta stuffed with trout and a petit New York strip with potato wedges. All of the entrees were perfectly prepared. After a tour of the wine cellar, we ordered a bottle of Yacuil Malbec. The evening ended with a dessert sampler of Malbec sorbet with Malbec reduction, a pear and raisin strudel, mascarpone ice cream, a brownie, chocolate mousse, and cheesecake. A truly delightful evening. If you only have limited time in El Chalten don’t miss this gem.

Best food we have had in Argentina so far. We had the trout and lamb with sides (fig salad and sweet potato with honey) and it was all very tasty. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They have a great wine selection to suit all budgets. The food is a bit pricier than elsewhere in El Chalten but if you want to treat yourself this is the place to go! Highly recommend! Also great views of Fitzroy as the sun goes down. I wish we'd had room for dessert!

Just returned back to the UK having travelled top to bottom in Argentina & eaten in one of the supposed best steak restaurants in Argentina & I would have no hesitation in saying the quality & value for money at La Vineria was outstanding. The service was first class. My wife & I shared the steak as it was to big (500gm) but it was cooked to perfection, but our two sons devoured a full portion each ! The wine list is excellent. If I visit El Chalten again I will definitely revisit here

We didn't plan on going to El Chalten and attending Dinner Olympic Competition - you know, where tourists run around town trying to get into restaurants that don't take reservations and make you wait long period of time. In this context La Vineria was a walk in at 9:30 without a wait. It has a solid menu, the wine was good, service fine. A good option for El Chalten's restaurant wasteland.

Very nice restaurant with friendly service. We ordered 2 different steaks - one medium and one well done. The well done steak was grilled perfectly. However, the other one was rare or very rare when it was first served. We asked to have it grilled a bit more - medium. When it came back, it was well done. So it seems that steaks will be cooked rare or well done. The sides were also not the best.
We had expected a bit more.

I believe this restaurant is still pretty new and still figuring out all of their logistics. Our steak was very overcooked and it took us an hour to get the bill after asking for it 4 times. I think this restaurant has great potential and am hopeful it was just an off night. They did have a very extensive wine list which was great and well priced.

Very good food and very nice decor.
We had the soup of the day, which was delicious. The bruschetta and the cheesecake were also very good.
The only drawback was the service. The staff asked you at the beginning whether you would prefer to order in English or Spanish, etc. We preferred to speak in Spanish, but we were answered in English the whole time. Very irritating.

Definitely 5 stars. Very good steak restaurant. Good meat, nice service. Good sommelier, nice wine list. Prices slightly higher than average, but you must visit this restaurant. Delicious food.
And everything is very clean. Wine glasses are cleaned, but also the wine bottles and pepper mills. Top!

Looks very new with a lot of attention to detail. You get quality food here, but things are a little more expensive as you might imagine, in particular the wine. Service was particularly good with English. The menu was also translated into English. Only real negatives - very noisy on our visit and they overcooked the chips (French fries).

This steak was the best I had while in Argentina and I went to the supposed best place in Buenos Aires. I had the Sirloin! Tender, mouth watering flavorful. I was not the only one in our group that ate way beyond full because it was that good. I also shared a bottle of Argentinian Malbec which was a nice combo with the meat. Service friendly and fast. Prices reasonable.

This is a top restaurant with a really great formula of good (read fantastic) food and wine. Lovely multi lingual staff and a great sommelier...Guillermo (William).
You can watch your meat being cooked and you can see the wine cellar in a glass fronted temperature controlled space.
Rib eye on first night was perfectly cooked and delicious but the skirt on the second night melted in the mouth. Helped down with a yummy Pinot Noir what could you not like.
If we could come every night we would but sadly a place on the travel route...
Next time we will come and if you read this and want the best place on town then read no further.

My wife and I have been traveling for almost 3 weeks in Chile and Argentina, primarily in Patagonia, but also in Mendoza and Buenos Aires. We have stayed in 5-star hotels (Eilo, Tierra Patagonia, Tierra Atacama, Cavas Wine Lodge) and had incredible food everywhere we went, but nothing can compare to the dinner we enjoyed at La Vineria Grill in El Chalten. I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the beet ravioli stuffed with smoked and cured trout, in a leek cream sauce. We shared a fig and sundried tomato salad. We enjoyed wonderful wine and dessert. Simply cannot say enough good things about the food, the service and the atmosphere. If you are ever in El Chalten and you don’t eat there, you have missed an amazing dining experience!!

Grass fed Argentinian beef may be the best in the world. For North Americans who are accustomed to grain fed beef, you are in for a treat. Had a wonderful steak dinner with a bottle of Mendoza medoc for less than $30. Incomporable. HIghly recommended. All the waitresses speak English.
