While back in Scottsdale with family we stopped by Franco’s and were again blown away. The atmosphere is welcoming and familial, the pasta was as good as anything I’ve had in Italy, and this time I tried the Grouper which was so pure and flavorful. Perfect for a special occasion or just anyone wanting truly authentic Tuscan cuisine.

Really enjoyed dinner in this intimate somewhat loud old fashioned Italian restaurant. The special appetizer of homemade burrata, roasted peppers, white anchovies and parma ham with some caviar was very good but $28 expensive should of asked for the price first. The chicken picata was tender with just enough lemon and capers a large portion we split with tasty carrots, over salted spinach with a side of pasta with a delicious meat sauce. Nice wine list. Would return and recommend.

Had my Birthday dinner with my Mother and husband at Franco's Italian Caffe and it was the greatest experience! I couldn't imagine spending my birthday anywhere else. As always Franco makes you feel like family. No matter how busy he and his staff are they treat everyone like they are the most important people there. We shared 2 bottles of wine starting with the Fini Pinot Grigio and later the Montefalco Sagrantino a yummy deep dark red; both are excellent and great choices. We shared a couple of appetizers. First plate was imported dry cheese and salamis that went well with the Italian bread and EVO on the table. And the second plate was the special; a combo plate of tomatoes topped with creamy burrata cheese and caviar, roasted red pepper with fresh sardines and prosciutto. Franco then brought out the pasta special spaghetti with veal meat sauce which was so very yummy. By now we were getting full but still ordered entrees. I ordered one of my favorites and also a special that night, the Lamb Osso Bucco; it was so huge I think I only ate 1/4 of it. The sauce is so delicious with the risotto and sides of sauteed spinach and carrots. My husband had the Bistecca Florentine; a large porterhouse and as always cooked perfectly. His came with a side of the sauteed spinach and carrots and a large bowl of fresh cut French fries. My Mother was so full from everything we already had but just wanted a little calamari and Franco made it happen. He gave her a large bowl of calamari in a red tomato sauce that was so good she took a doggy bag of the remaining sauce home! For dessert we shared Franco's Mascarpone Cheesecake which is so creamy on a graham cracker crust and the dense chocolaty flourless chocolate cake along with the best espresso some Lemoncello for me and an Amaro for my husband. We went home with enough doggy bags to pretty much feed us for the week. Can't wait to go back again! Thank you Frank and Caroline for a wonderful Birthday!!!

Amazing to-go order due to restrictions with Covid-19. Had to have my Franco fix and saw he is to take out orders and we ordered a ton of food all ready in 20 minutes for pick-up. We ordered prosciutto and melon sweetest melon I've had in a long time., Cesar salad, lasagna, Fruitta de Mare, the veal chop and tiramisu. There aside of assorted Italian bread also thrown in. Plus we were able to buy a bottle of wine and the wine was 20% off. Everything was delicious, reasonably priced and perfect. Will be doing this again!

Good news, Valley of the Sun! After six weeks of state-mandated closure, Franco's Italian Caffe of Scottsdale is now open for take out. Like everyone, I've been eating my own cooking each night for a month. And I'm royally tired of it. Cue Franco's Italian Caffe to my rescue. I "took out" Franco's delicious lasagna with house-made pasta cooked to al dente perfection, layered with a rich Tuscan inspired meat sauce. A simple green salad, a glass of red wine and Franco's scrumptious lasagna. Could there be a better comfort meal for these trying times? Plus, I had enough for lunch the next day.

My husband and I tried to eat here on a Thursday night and found we had to have reservations. Franco's is a very small restaurant and quite poplar with locals and returning guests. The owner stopped by our table and visited for a while. Our food was excellent! The service was perfect! After dinner we were served limoncello...and then the owner surprised us with deserts! A perfect ending to a great meal!

My husband really wanted some Italian food that night. We had a really long day in Sedona and could find a place that wasn't full and allow us to sit down and eat without a very long wait. We called and made a reservation and they were more than accommodating. I didnt want anything heavy so I opted for the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto appetizer and a chicken cesar salad. My husband got a special that had black linguini ( i believe squid inked pasta) with a bunch of different seafood (mussels, shrimp and sea bass). He enjoyed his meal and thought it was good. I though the asparagus was really good and flavorful! We were given bread when we sat down and the butter sauce from the appetizer was so good we used that sauce to dip our bread in. I had a few cups of coffee and enjoyed their coffee as well. They had AMAZING staff at this restaurant! Everyone was just so nice and helpful!

We hadn't been to Franco's for several years, but it won't be long before we return again. It is such a warm atmosphere, the service is wonderful, and the food is traditional Italian, but somehow seems contemporary. The limited wine list, emphasizing Italian wines, is fairly priced. We ordered an Italian Pinot Noir, which complimented our dinners perfectly. We shared a Caesar salad to start, and I was reminded of what a real Caesar should taste like - the dressing definitely included anchovy, just enough. I ordered the Halibut special, in a light red sauce, which should definitely be on the menu. Paul had the Bolognese, served over capellini, as he requested. Both dinners were delicious and we had a lovely evening.

All the food tasted fresh. Well portioned pasta and not too much sauce. Husband loved the veal picatta and the angel hair was light and flavorful. Service was excellent. It was a bit crowded(difficult to social distance in the small restaurant) due to several large groups of regulars. The proprietor noticed were were uncomfortable next to the large group and promptly moved us, which we genuinely appreciated. Tiramisu was delectable . Valet parking is available. Definitely go if you’re craving real Italian food.

Another amazing meal at Franco’s Italian Caffe! Went for New Year’s Eve and as always the food and service was excellent. The staff along with Franco, his wife Caroline and their daughter Leela welcome you and treat you like you are a guest in their home. We started with a bottle of Fini a delicious and flavorful Pinot Grigio which went great with a very tasty chicken vegetable soup. My husband and I then shared the Pappardelle, ribbon pasta, with wild boar. This was a special and a must have when it is on the menu. Then we shared the lamb Osso Bucco which was huge. Lots of very tender tasty meat with a delicious light sauce which came with risotto and sautéed spinach with garlic and sautéed sweet carrots. With dinner we had one of our favorite red wines imported from Umbria, Lorenzo Mattoni’s Montefalco Sagrantino. My Mother had the veal scaloppini which she just devoured which was really good for a tiny 93 year old with this being such a large dish of food especially after having had their “small” dinner salad which was by no means small. For dessert I had my go-to favorite the Merenghata and my Mother and husband shared the Tiramisu. We all had Franco’s perfectly made espresso and topped the night off with my husband Amaro a digestif and my Mother and I have Lemoncello

Had 2 Dinners here last year, and couldnt wait to return. The Food and service here are second to none. Tables were spaced, and every seat was filled. Started meal wth the Burrata appetizer. Imported Burrata Mozzarella,Fresh Italian Prosciutto,Roasted Sweet Peppers,Sicilian Anchovies,Sliced Tomatoes, and Caviar topping. The many tastesof Italy in this one dish are beyond belief. Francos server Francesca, who is from Italy, gets this delicate Burrata imported for the restaurant.Hard to find this quality in the States. Also had Fresh Halibut topped with Shrimp, with Vegetable and Tomato topping.Outstanding.The following visit ,i enjoyed a Veal stuffed Pasta, topped with a fresh carrot cream sauce. Mouthwatering. Both meals were followed by complimentary Homemade Lemoncella Liquer, and flourless Chocolate Cake. I recommend Francos to anyone visiting,or living near Scottsdale. The Service and hospitality compliment the excellent food and Wine choices.5 Stars, all the way.

We celebrated my birthday at Franco’s and as usual it was a superb blend of delicious food and excellent service. Franco started us out with La Marca Prosecco perfect for celebrating and went so well with our appetizers of grilled red pepper with fresh anchovies, fresh burrito topped with caviar on thinly sliced tomatoes and sweet cantelope melon with lean prosciutto. Our dinner consisted of sharing the night’s special; Penne Pisano with house made ground sausage with a light cream sauce. Absolutely delicious! It went well with the wine we chose a Montepulciano which is a dry dark red. For main courses I had the veal chop perfectly cooked and tender grilled and topped with a light mushroom sauce. My husband had the rack of lamb. Both came with sides; sautéed spinach and diagonally cut carrots. My veal chop also came with a grilled potato and my husband’s lamb came with grilled polenta. We finished the night with espresso (made like they make it in Italy) and a delectable treat; chocolate merenghata. It was the perfect evening. Franco’s will always be our favorite restaurant.

We now make this a 'must' go to restaurant when we are in Scottsdale. Make sure to call for a reservation weeks in advance to ensure that you will be able to experience this incredible restaurant. Antonio was our waiter and provided impeccable service. Franco and Dave also provided fabulous service. This authentic Italian food that can't be missed. And, Franco treated us to dessert!

Searching for an authentic Italian restaurant? Look no further! A sophisticated atmosphere that is both intimate and classy. Franco’s Italian Caffe has it all! The food here is always freshly prepared with the highest quality ingredients, served by professional waiters who are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu!! We had the pleasure of being served by Derrick, who was brilliant at describing each of the “evening’s specials “, made recommendations and was simply a bonus to our dining experience! The menu has a variety of classic dishes as well as “daily specials “, all reasonably priced considering the quality of the food you’re eating. The bar is small, but we’ll stocked and the bartender is very skilled at making a variety of cocktails. Reservations are strongly suggested! You will think that you just finished a meal in Italy! Truly a special experience!

My wife and I made a last minute reservation at Franco’s for our Anniversary. We originally had a reservation elsewhere and we were so glad we made the change. The service was great. We did not get the name of our server, he was Italian from Puglia and he was great. The food was very authentic. We ordered a starter of Burrata with Prosciutto with Fresh Figs, Outstanding! For dinner, we ordered 2 of their specials, House-Made Tortelloni stuffed with Pheasant and Ricotta in a braised rabbit ragù, Perfetto! We also ordered the Lamb Chops which were served with grilled Polenta Cakes and fresh vegetables, Delicious. We ordered a Gran Selezione Chianti with dinner which was reasonably priced and very good. After dinner we enjoyed an amaro digestivo and our server brought us some cantucci cookies. We were offered a complimentary dessert for our anniversary all of which sounded amazing, but we were so full we had to decline. A+ experience. We will definitely return when in Scottsdale. Grazie!!
