What a horrible dining experience- will never be back. We were also there to check it out as we were considering hosting a larger event there but that’s definitely not a consideration anymore either. Emailed the restaurant the day after we dined to try to...give them a chance to make it right and never heard back. We were there to celebrate a birthday and We had never been in before and so we had some questions, and we just had the rudest server no matter what we asked her, she was super condescending. We were there on a Monday night so it was not busy and there was no reason for her to be so rushed everytime she came to the table. When the drinks came 2 of them were wrong which she of course was rude about. Then we placed our order before 7pm, and at 7:50 still had no food and we hadn’t seen our server. My husband got up to find someone and she said the food was being plated. Manager came over definitely had zero care in the world and also said food was coming and claimed the order wasn’t put in the system until 7:19pm- I’m sorry what?! How and why when we placed it before 7, unacceptable. It was after 8 when the food came and basically it was all cold. 1 person sent it back the rest of us were just starving. Server just kept popping over in her condescending unhelpful tone. Then they all disappeared again when we needed the bill so we had to get up to hunt them down again. My husband sees the server and asks if anything is being taken off the bill and she said she had to go ask. He watches her walk in the restaurant, walks right back out and says- no sorry there’s nothing we can do- so just blatantly lied about talking to someone! So my husband once again went and found the manager who again, could care less. Finally agrees to take 20% off the bill. So by the time we left there we had been there 2.5 hours and it just completely ruined our get together. The only thing this place has going for it is the patio is very cute.More

We had a business meal with a dozen or so colleagues and had a great meal and service in a lively atmosphere! The chips and salsa were authentic and cocktails original. I enjoyed fish fajitas but could have easily split the portion. Service was friendly...and efficient and dishes were moderately priced. Dining is available on the patio or inside and either is colorful. Will definitely recommend and come back.More

I brought my husband here, as my mom and I came here for dinner, back in the early' 90's, while on holiday as well. We had enjoyed our meal back then, and hubby and I enjoyed our lunch, last year. The restaurant had changed in...that it was no longer the Mexican Cantina theme, of decades ago. While waiting for our lunch, I wandered thru', to see if I was missing the Mexican area, but there is no sign of it now. It used to be a bright, colourful area, with Mexican items throughout. I was hoping it was still that way, but it didn't really matter. I asked a young girl about it, and she said she had heard that it was that way many years ago. Just like other areas of Phoenix and Scottsdale, the true S.W. feeling has disappeared, since the early '90's, I feel. Anyway, hubby and I sat outside on their patio, during a nice afternoon (we had come during a year that had some record cold temps, since 40 years ago, and snow even in Tucson!), and he started out with a margarita, which he really enjoyed. The thick tortilla chips we had at first, with the salsa, were the best we'd ever had, and the waitress stated they were made with flour, which makes them flaky! We both had the 6, each, small picadillo tacos, with salad all around them, on the plate. Very good! There were plants all around the patio area, and hubby stated it was the nicest atmosphere of a Tex-Mex restaurant he has ever been to! Our waitress was very friendly, chatting with us. It was really nice being back after last visit of 33 years ago!More

Close to the Best Western & easy parking for late afternoon lunch. Nice Atmospher. We sat outside on the patio & the birds were very active. They had a couple food items on the menu that we never tried before; Machaca & Picadillo. Our choices...were ok. Apparently, we should have paid more attention to the "upcharges" for sauces & cheese. There Margaritas were good but after reviewing our bill we were also surprised to see a charge for the ICE in our drinks.More

#1 place is HUGE. It's like they kept adding a building (like 4 buildings connected by doorways) as the business grew. It's a maze. #2 Don't look at the ceilings, super gross (dingy/dirty fur like texture). #3 Great for big groups and those that like...cheap food and alcohol. They have live music and a huge bar. Positive: The chips and salsa (made in house) are yummy! I would go there for those alone... and not much else. We ordered shrimp tacos, chicken enchiladas, and chicken pechugas - nothing special. Oh and service was good. If I want authentic, quality Mexican food... I'll go elsewhere. I had high expectations based off the reviews, I was mega disappointed.More

We went initially for my nieces wedding and then went back the next day for dinner as we were impressed with our whole experience the evening before. Great food for a good price and big portions.

Hadn't been here in a while so I suggested it for lunch with a friend. Had the guac dip along with their salsa for chips. I also had the fish tacos and a couple of margaritas. Food was very good but not great, service was...very good as well. Nice casual atmosphere, there are several sections, including an outside patio, so you have some variety.More

Not a fan of the flour tortilla chips, does anyone like them? Lol. Salsa was good, shrimp tacos good, everyone else's meal was ok. Very large plate of food, go hungry. We enjoyed the fresh churros for dessert.

Service was ok but they put us at a table that didn’t have enough chairs. Food was good, they were accommodating with moving our reservation time. We had burritos and fish tacos and both were good. We sat outside an atmosphere was great.

Was recommended to us by a Hotel employee. Very average Mexican restaurant. Was full and had a wait for inside seating but service was friendly and quick. Food was ok but nothing special. Very Americanized have had far more authentic food at a lot of...other places in town that tasted better.More

Recommended to us by the bellhop at our hotel when I asked if he knew any good Mexican restaurants…we were in between normal meal times so the place was fairly quiet (bar had more people than the restaurant), but service was relatively sparse and the...food was remarkably bland. Flour tortilla chips were unique, but did not care for the taste. If you like chunky salsa, this was the largest chunks I’ve seen for salsa (also on the bland side). The corn tortillas for our fajitas did not seem fresh (reheated maybe?). We were hungry and it got the job done, but not worth the price or the short walk…next time I’ll drive or Uber 15-20 minutes if needed.More

My wife and I live in Germany where there plenty of great restaurants, but none of them are Mexican cuisine. Finding one is like finding a needle in a haystack. So, when we returned to Arizona for the Christmas holidays, we were going to eat...Mexican. This is the second place we tried within a week. While the other one was very good, this one was fantastic. It had such an unusual menu with many different options. The portions were huge so you were going to go home with leftovers. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa had black olives in it, which was new to me. We ordered a guacamole appetizer and two main entrées. I ordered an amazing quesadilla with shrimp that was so big (see photo). My wife went with the spicy Chipotle creamy chicken. This was also phenomenal. We both had lunch for another day with the amount of food. Our waitress, Bri, was wonderful and very attentive. We got a seat by the fireplace which made our dining experience perfect. I wish I had an Aunt Chilada in my life!More

This place delivers every time. The menu has some unique offerings and you don't leave hungry. The salsa is a bit weird with black olives and the rice could use a bit more flavor but the main dishes are the bomb.

Just don’t. It has good reviews and looks appealing from the outside, but the food is soooo bland! Also, it must be near a retirement community as 90% of the guests were seniors. Felt a bit like Palm Springs. Meh, not worth the $.
