Recommended to us by the bellhop at our hotel when I asked if he knew any good Mexican restaurants…we were in between normal meal times so the place was fairly quiet (bar had more people than the restaurant), but service was relatively sparse and the...food was remarkably bland. Flour tortilla chips were unique, but did not care for the taste. If you like chunky salsa, this was the largest chunks I’ve seen for salsa (also on the bland side). The corn tortillas for our fajitas did not seem fresh (reheated maybe?). We were hungry and it got the job done, but not worth the price or the short walk…next time I’ll drive or Uber 15-20 minutes if needed.More

My wife and I live in Germany where there plenty of great restaurants, but none of them are Mexican cuisine. Finding one is like finding a needle in a haystack. So, when we returned to Arizona for the Christmas holidays, we were going to eat...Mexican. This is the second place we tried within a week. While the other one was very good, this one was fantastic. It had such an unusual menu with many different options. The portions were huge so you were going to go home with leftovers. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa had black olives in it, which was new to me. We ordered a guacamole appetizer and two main entrées. I ordered an amazing quesadilla with shrimp that was so big (see photo). My wife went with the spicy Chipotle creamy chicken. This was also phenomenal. We both had lunch for another day with the amount of food. Our waitress, Bri, was wonderful and very attentive. We got a seat by the fireplace which made our dining experience perfect. I wish I had an Aunt Chilada in my life!More

This place delivers every time. The menu has some unique offerings and you don't leave hungry. The salsa is a bit weird with black olives and the rice could use a bit more flavor but the main dishes are the bomb.

Just don’t. It has good reviews and looks appealing from the outside, but the food is soooo bland! Also, it must be near a retirement community as 90% of the guests were seniors. Felt a bit like Palm Springs. Meh, not worth the $.

This was my first time visiting Aunt Chiladas. It was a very nice place to sit down and enjoy some very nice Mexican dishes. I was brought here by a current busser. They recommended to me that the street tacos were delicious. For an appetizer...we had the flour chips and salsa which was fantastic. He wasn’t lying about those street tacos;) The food was great and so is the community. Definitely was a great first time, and won’t be the last!!More

The Chicken/Steak Fajitas were very tasty, the dinner salad was excellent. The portions are substantial and the menu is value priced. Server Maricela (Mari) was great. There is a lot going on at this restaurant and they do a big bar business. Don’t let that...fool you, they also serve some very good food. The parking lot was packed, so park on the street across from the Park (1 minute walk). If you are not a drinker try the Topo Chico Mineral Water- it is great.More

The atmosphere and staff were great but the food was the best. Chips, salsa and guacamole were the best part of the meal but know the house salsa has no spice so if you want any spice ask for the hot salsa and mix to...your liking. Fish tacos were terrible, tacos, chimichanga and burritos were fine. Kids loved the HUGE fried ice cream.More

Disappointed. This place has great reviews and seems popular. Margaritas are weak. I hated their flour chips and olive salsa. Seafood enchilada was very greasy and bland. Not sure why people like this place so much. The patio is nice but I would never go...here again.More

I never eat my refried beans or the rice but I cleaned my plate. Got the chile rellano! Very good. Salsa a bit bland but family new to request the hot and so we combined it and wow! Excellent! The fried flour tortilla chips are...fabulous! Better than the corn chips. I got the blackberry horseshoe drink. So good! Ate outdoors! It was really lovely.More

We arrived at our hotel late and were starving but were disappointed with the food here. The flour tortilla chips and salsa were really the only good things we ordered. Everything else was very bland. Service was not great and we had to walk around...looking for someone to seat us.More

Arrived early to our hotel and couldn’t check in, so we found this place. Still too many restaurants are still shut down in the area. Authentic cuisine. Chips and salsa was delicious. Prompt friendly service.

First, the food is good! Ask for the flour tortilla chips in lieu of the standard serve chips for the chips & salsa. Three of us had an unfortunate experience dining for dinner on a Saturday night. We opted to seat ourselves in the lounge...area due to a longer wait time for dining/patio. The lounge was seated with two groups, a few 2-3 tables, and by no means jammed or slammed for 7:30P on a Saturday night in Phoenix. We ordered dinner, no appetizers, no real odd special requests. We had water because we had spent the day poolside at Hilton down the street. Not complicated, should have been an easy table. Our server had a trainee shadow - if attitudes are contagious, I hope the trainee does not catch the trainer’s! We had to ask for refills on water. The order of Taco Salad comes with a side of beans (black or refried) and the meal came out without. We requested the beans as the salad was packed with large leaf lettuce and minimal other toppings. We asked for the beans to which it was responded, “oh, those are upon request. I’m sorry, I should have asked.” They were delivered - there’s that attitude, again. The receipt had to be adjusted because they were billed for the kitchen to get the order. The experience just kept rolling downhill - over two hours for dinner. When we cashed out, we split the tab and cashed out. One tab was paid with cash. When the change was returned, it was missing the $0.08 to balance ticket to payment. Sorry, no matter the amount, that is theft. It’s dishonest. Or, someone needs a math lesson when their till doesn’t balance… made us wonder how much more is being skimmed… We left more than $0.08 in tip, but FAR less than the normal amount. Gratuities are earned, this time it was not.More
