Anniversary

My Parents had their anniversary dinner last night here, we had pre booked this venue just last Saturday and they were able to deliver. Food and service was good. They were courteous and always smiling. Despite the place being busy, food was hot and requests were granted. Would definitely come here again.

Served spoit prawns

I am never going back to Giligan's restaurant. Their food doesn't look fresh. My friend got skin allergies from eating their prawns. Service are very slow.

The Sizzling Sisig that isn't....

Giligan's Restaurant Sipag Villar C5 ext. I've wanted to try their sisig for the longest time, but every time I go, it's always jam packed! I figured it's a good sign of good food if a resto is always full, but I didn't want to wait around for a table, so I decided to go on a Monday after a payday weekend to make sure I'll be seated quickly. I was right, there were only three occupied tables when I got there. Unfortunately, there was also probably less staff working that day. Nobody was at the door greeting new customers. No one at the front desk/bar was paying attention to me when I stopped there, so I had to go to the dining area and tell a server that I'd need a table. He had to tell someone else before I was seated. But I was there for the food, so it's all good. I had the Giligan's sizzling sisig and cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were lovely, served hot and with a bit of green pepper inside, so it tastes a bit like dynamite sticks. Loved it. The sizzling sisig though, when it was served, was neither sizzling nor even remotely hot. It had some sort of whitish sauce and green stuff (bits of pepper or leeks? I'm not sure). Anyway, it was disappointing. It shouldn't be called sizzling if it's served cold. I'd remotely understand if it was a crazy busy night, but it wasn't. So I have to put that down to poor service. Also, I had to send back a serving of rice because there was a piece of hair embedded in it. Showed it to the manager, he replaced it with an apology. And nothing else. Not even an upgrade to garlic rice or a glass of iced tea. On the other hand, I wasn't really looking for it. I was just there to try the sisig. It's terrible. I've had better sisig from a makati jollyjeep! Definitely won't come back.
