I rarely give an excellent rating to restaurants, but Teppanya's branch at Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Piñas definitely deserves it. It's way above the other Japanese restaurants I've been to. Every table has its own chef, who does not only cook foods to perfection, but also knows how to entertain guests with his acrobatic way of handling kitchen utensils. The sudden burst of flame from the cooking pan is sure to sollicit a "wow" from the bewildered diners. Foods are of excellent quality and taste. I particularly love their steaks, sautéed shrimps, and sashimi. Yes, it's a bit costly. Be ready to pay at least Php 1500 per head, but it's worth the price. I look forward to having another meal at Teppanya. Be sure to book ahead of time for the place easily gets filled with clients. :D

We booked a private room for 20pax for my
sister’s birthday. The ambiance is good and the chefs are very entertaining. The quality and portion of the food are above average. Overall I recommend this place but just be sure to make a reservation as they are always full.

if ur gonna find the most affordable place with a good ambiance and good set of variety of seafood, meat, Japanese food, and even dessert, GO HERE NOW!! This my go-to-unli-buffet resto when we're craving for seafood or even celebrations! Picanha was my fave here for steak but it wasn't available anymore but their lamb was good and their tenderloin make sure to have medium-medium rare doneness and their salmon sashimi was so good! my aunt who didn't like it, loved it so much!! IF UR LIKE ON A BUDGET LESS THAN 2K GO HERE! GO FOR THE UNLI AND THEY GIVE U THE TAIL OF THE LOBSTER AND IT'S SO GOOD! LOVE THE CHEF'S TOO

Teppanya Evia was one of my family's go-to places for birthdays and other important occasions pre-pandemic. Needless to say, we enjoy their food. However, in the last year or so, I have attempted many times - but failed - to make a reservation to dine in. The reason is that they only accept walk-ins on Fridays to Sundays. Yes, they can accept reservations but only for the private rooms, which come with a minimum required spend of P12k. How can a family of 4 (including children) spend P12k? The alternative is to wait outside, for an average of 3 hours. We once attempted to walk-in with a 75 year old, and in order to get seats for dinner, we have to arrive and wait starting around 3pm. They fail to consider that not all diners have the physical capacity nor the luxury of time to wait 3 hours. And not all diners would be willing to move their celebration, especially a birthday, to a different day.
There are many restaurants in the country that are also popular and have limited capacity. But they do allow reservations for part of the dining area and the rest for walk-ins. This way, there is opportunity for all, without wasting so much of the customer's time. Personally, I prefer restaurants that accept reseevations for the entire dining area, even if it means making the reservation way in advance. It's better to reward people who plan in advance, isn't it? Teppanya doesn't, and for them, as long as the restaurant is full, customer's wasted time is irrelevant.
And since I don't like to waste my time, I'll just take my business elsewhere. Good food does not make up for poor service.

I've been eating at Teppanya for a while now, but my experience today is where I really felt the need to write a review. During my long stay in the waiting area, there was a couple in front of me that were consistently showing symptoms of COVID-19. They were coughing continuously. So we informed the staff of the matter that maybe they shouldn't let them dine within the restaurant because they are clearly showing symptoms of COVID-19. The waitress noted our concern, but to my surprise the couple were still allowed inside and continued coughing even without a mask. We spoke to another waiter and even the chef about the concern, and all they could say was sorry that they could not discriminate. This is not a matter of discrimination. This is a matter of public safety and health. Restaurants are held to a high standard when it comes to public health which is why it was a surprise that they continued to let them in. The manager reasoned that they didn't have fever and had vaccination cards, but regardless of those requirements, a person can still carry COVID-19 and fever is not the only symptom of COVID-19. They could have politely requested that the couple not dine-in or even just offer them service in one of their private rooms on the second floor, but no, they chose to endanger the lives of the people, especially the children that were there this night. I'm very disappointed in Teppanya and their total disregard for safety protocol. Sad to say that I am never eating there again.

We had lunch here, the ambiance is okay only just a little bit crowded, the food are nice specially the vegetables and meat, the seafood are just okay, the staff are helpful with our request and I want to praise the Chef for the Effort on cooking all the foods its not a easy task specially if they also need to do some exhibition on live audience. The only off for me is the 2 hours time line you can eat (for the unlimited) and its almost 1 thousand per head so people will compare to other unlimited buffet with the same price.

TEPPANYA
2nd Flr, Evia Lifestylecenter,
Daang Hari Road, Almanza, Las Pinas City
This Japanese restaurant serve variety of dishes; from yummy appetizers, sushi, salad, soup, ramen to A5 Wagyu, lobsters, oyster and even Korean dishes.
You can also enjoy premium set meals for that wonderful experience of seeing how they cook the food on a Teppan, the Metal Griddle.
Aside from the warm greeting from the staffs, the place looks warm and so inviting. The smell of the fresh ingredients being cooked on a metal plate made me more hungry and felt so lucky to be in this fabulous restaurant.
THE FOOD:
SQUID NIGIRI 4/5
The fusion of balanced flavors of squid, wasabi and other spices made this appetizer a awesome starter.
WAGYU ABURI with GOLD 5/5
Hmmm sounds amazing right? Knowing that there's Gold on your food is something different from your everyday life. The flamed wagyu strip is tender and juicy thus making it perfect with the other ingredients.
MARINATED GINDARA 4/5
White fish fillet marinated with white miso. Cooked on metal plate and covered for some time for that smoky flavor. Drizzle with some lemon and its perfect.
BOSTON LOBSTER TEPPAN 4/5
with dashi bisque that added more flavor to the soft lobster meat. Together with shiitake mushroom and some veggies this luxurious dish is a must try.
WAGYU BITS FRIED RICE 4/5
This fried rice is something to look forward to, with spices and wagyu bits it can already be consumed alone.
BRAZILLIAN TENDERLOIN 5/5
Cooked medium rare on a metal plate, this tender and juicy meat gave me a wow factor; together with some sauce or just that salt and pepper dry dip makes this meat so awesome.
WAGYU A5 5/5
Like the Brazillian tenderloin, this meat is the premium amongst the premium. The meat especially the fat melts in your mouth; together with the fried garlic, salt and pepper tasting this was an amazing food experience!
BANANA FLAMBE 4/5
This dessert is of course made of banana with vanilla ice cream which is flamed and then drizzles with chocolate syrup and some more sweet toppings for a more enjoyable dessert experience.

Entertaining to say the least but more importantly, surprisingly affordable. We tried the Premium Set (Php365 for 5 courses) and everything we picked we're great! Winning dishes fornus though were: Usuyaki Beef, Stir-fry veggies (fries in lots of butter!) and the Banana Flambè (surprisingly good!).
We also got the Emperor's Chahan which was a meal in and of itself! You get the chef not just cooking but entertaining you as well so that's not a bad deal at all!

Waited for 30 mins for a plain rice.
Requested our bill 4 times. And saw the cashier just chatting with her fellow employee.

the place was full. we were fortunate to secure booking on short notice. room temp was a bit too cold for my taste but they might have needed to do that to overcome the heat from all the flambe going on. food was great, good ingredients, well cooked. and the chef relates well with the diners. only downside was, due to full diner and not enough chefs, we had to wait half an hour after finishing our starters for the main meals to start. to their credit, we were provided with a complimentary sushi roll to compensate for the delay. classy move as we were not making any complaints. Highly recommended.

Familiar with Butcher and Sons? They’re in the same family 😄... If you were like me who got so impressed with But her and Sons, tendency is to have a high expectation with Teppanya, fortunately they delivered and more 👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Just to give you a glimpse on how it works, there are no private tables or seating unless you have a big group that you will occupy the whole table where the preparation is also happening, so you’d be sharing the two sides with fellow diners :)
Ordered dishes are mostly prepared right before you. But the rolls and sushi are done in the kitchen.
Chef (ours was Chef Monsour) has a repertoire of showing his skills hahaha! Which is really entertaining 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
This is way casual than Butcher and Sons, but every is equally delightful 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻!
Staff were equally attentive.

We booked an early dinner for 4 Adults/2 Kids for a Special B-Day Event.- Main plan was to dine on Wagu Teppan.-But upon arrival it was "Sorry No Stock". Oh well, disappointed, we ordered "Premium (Steak/Seafood) Set for Six. Must say the Teppan Cook was very entertaining (following a take-off show popularized long ago by the Benihana Chain). That was the High-Light of our dinner.- Food quality was just "so-so" in our view. Angus Steaks were not good quality and salmon and scallops dry and unappetizing. -Prices in our view were way out of line for very average food quality. One lesser note is the uncomfortable hard wooden seats that could be improved with cushions. BB

Food is nice, cooked in front of you by highly skilled Teppan chefs. Some of these chefs are really entertaining and nice. Kinda pricey though, but all worth the experience.

Teppanya was one of our favorite restaurants, been trying various tepanyaki restaus over the metro & we really enjoyed Teppanya Evia the first time so we visited once again.
However, 2nd time was not a charm anymore. I dont know what happened, guess they changed their staff? Their wait staff were not attentive at all. They served the soup firsthand & didnt gave a spoon. When I requested, it came 10mins after. Great! Served dessert without a dessert spoon also. Good thing the chef assigned to us was polite & accommodating but those wait staff really needs training. They dont have nameplates either so I cant catch their names.
It was just regretful that for such a good restaurant that serves good food, image will be frayed just because their staff lack attentiveness, like they dont want to be working there. I guess im crossing this restaurant off my go to places for the time being.
