How is The Bay Sports Bar & Restaurant rated?

Last night we went for dinner and was served by precious,well when I say served I mean we were made to feel like she was doing us a favour. Rude, unprofessional behaviour. I had to ask twice for a manager who seemed just as uninterested...in the restaurant and the 2 tables they had! When telling him all that went wrong in the night...a simple 'thanks for bringing it to my attention' was said and waiter and manager never to be found again... no proper apology or a solution was given.I have actually never seen 2 people avoid a table as much as they did. We were then made to feel unwelcomed the rest of our dinner and hurried to leave. I have never had such terrible service. Mcdonalds drive thru would be far better value for moneyMore

OMG....

This is a place of contradictions: the nicest service you can wish for but.....the worst food we had in the last twenty years: enormous amounts of almost undefinable substances (nachos). Every piece of what was on the plates, from onion rings to potatoes, tasted of...fish. I think their kitchen has never changed their cooking oil since they first opened, and keep using it for everything they dare putting on the menu to date.... HORRIBLE!More

Average Meal

I decided to support my old rugby club (False Bay) and went for lunch. I decided to have the chilli popper burger, it was cold and rather tasteless not very pleasant to eat.

Light lunch

Typical sports club/pub. We go there often for lunch during the week. They have a good lunchtime menu.R70.00 The food is pub food, the old faithfuls..Fish and chips, calamari, steak egg and chips etc. Great burgers!! The atmosphere is very relaxing, service always good. An...ala carte menu is also available. We have always had a great meal there.More

Live music on a Friday night

Typical festive rugby bar, food not bad. The crowd seems awesomely happy (probably because we were there on a Friday after work!) Good selection of cooling beverages :)

Nice place for lunch

We often go there for lunch in a Saturday afternoon, always have tables, service is average, food is average too. But it is a good spot for a lazy Saturday lunch.

Great unpretentious place to enjoy some good value food and wine with friends!

We have been there a few times in recent months and have always had a great time. The food is surprisingly good and good value. Friday nights is live music night and gets quite busy. There's a fire going in the evenings in the Winter....TVs dotted around the pub and restaurant will allow the husbands to follow any big sport event even if the wives are there, at least they're having a good time too and don't feel left out.More

Very good value and surprisingly decent for pub fare.

I went there with my family more to make use of the sports fields with my sons, and then we ate there as well. The food was good, the prices were very reasonable, service was good...I can't complain about anything and will be back, to...use the sports facilities and the restaurant/pub.More

Fun for the family

This was our third visit to the restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly. We love the setting as the kids can enjoy the jumping castle and play area while parents can take a break in this relaxed setting. The drinks were ice cold and...very enjoyable. The food is typical pub food and quite average. It lacks seasoning and doesn't have a lot of flavour. Everyone enjoyed the chips, but that was about it. I would recommend it for its drinks and play area, but would avoid the food. Will return, but not to eat.More

Used to be a Regular

We havent been now in 2 months. The service has dropped and often had to wait for our food and a simple chicken schnitzel comes out like a piece of biltong. One would think that the locals would be the ones to keep happy. The...cricket club next door is producing some wonderful meals .....Hope they shake up their act. Ex manager Debbie was always on the ball, missed her smiley face....More

Surprisingly Good!

You would not expect such great food from the restaurant at a sports club. The place is a little rough around the edges. The food is really good though, we have tried many dishes and never been disappointed. Great beer selection too. There is a...kiddies play area and often a bouncy castle, and kids run around so its not the quietest spot. Being a sports club you get more than your fair share of smokers around unfortunately.More

Great live music on Fridays

Always a good place for live music on a Friday night. Burgers are excellent and reasonably priced. Also good for children, nice place to run around outside
