If you look for a cozy atmosphere & you want to enjoy the warm wrapping colours of a gorgeous sunset, this is the place to be. Cuddled by the sounds of the waves of the Ocean, I have eaten a 'fileto a la plancha' with...vegetables & smashed potatoes sipping my fav local beer Imperial Silver. Best place to eat with affordable prices on Playa Hermosa.More

We regularly visit Coco Beach and always return to La Casita del Marisco for our seafood feast. Amazing fresh fish with big portions and reasonable prices. We went someplace else at a nearby beach - cost twice as much and not as good. La Casita...del Marisco rules. Can't wait to return soon.More

We were recommended by the El Mangroove Marriott five minutes away about this beach restaurant. We are glad we went. It is open air even with Covid we felt safe. The view was beautiful with sunset since it is on the beach with a very...causal feel. I had whole red snapper which was great and everyone else enjoyed their food. We would definitely go back if we were in the neighborhood. it was nice to have parking for us as well. it got packed later on around 7pm and we understood why.More

We dined at La Casita del Marisco twice while in Costa Rica, both times for lunch. The food was good and it seemed clean. My husband ordered steak (at a seafood restaurant!) and he said it was really good! It is conveniently located right off...the beach and there were monkeys hanging out on the nearby trees which was a treat for the children.More

From the street, La Casita doesn’t look like much. It presents a friendlier face to the beach, with varnished, heavy hardwood chairs and tables, and a cozy-looking full bar. A tour group of more than 20 was waiting to be served. We ordered “grilled fillet...of fish with olives and fresh herbs” and “breaded squid with tartar sauce.” The fish was mahimahi and incredibly fresh tasting. I didn’t see many olives, but it was served with cooked vegetables including carrots, onions, and green peppers. The squid was cut into rings, breaded and deep fried. It too was good. Both orders were served with fries. Even though a large group had beaten us to the kitchen, we did not wait long to be served. Sitting in the shade of the metal roof with a view of the beach and gulf beyond was pleasant because of the light breeze from the water. The bill including only water to drink came to C$15,241 including service.More

We came back to Playa Hermosa mostly to ensure we could eat here again. Been to Costa Rica 3 times now and we ALWAYS come here at least once. The coconut shrimp are amazing, along with chicken cordon blue. Very good service too.

Went here after a long day of fishing and it was a good end to the day. The seafood pasta was wonderful and the sashimi was delicious. We went back the next day for drinks while hanging on the beach and it was the perfect...end to our vacation.More

Everything is great! Amazingly fresh seafood! Even the chicken cordon blue is awesome! Great drinks. Can also bring your own fresh catch of the day and they will cook it for you. I’ve eaten there a dozen times and never once had anything not meet...the very high expectations. Very reasonably priced. Would give 6 stars if possibleMore

Time is extremely precious on vacations or us and we typically do not eat at the same restaurant twice.....until this trip. With all of the food we’ve tried world wide and the standards that we’ve developed over the years, we were even surprised this location...not only impressed us on our first night in the country but also took the coveted last dinner spot in Costa Rica. The stuffed lobster was prepared perfectly and more than enough for two. Stuffed with giant prawns, fish, calamari, and delicious amazingness, the lobster overshadowed the awesomeness of the whole fried snapper. Crispy on the outside, soft and juicy meat on the inside, the whole fish was seasoned to perfection and a treat for the soul until the last bite. The parking lot is gravel and hard to find, the entrance dark and unimpressive, and the double tiered patio dining room oozes the feel of someone’s back yard but my goodness, they treat you like family. The last dinner was as the orange glow of the sun slowly set over the dark emerald ocean and on a whim, we walked down to the beach, rented three jet skis, and took off as a family literally into the sun set. Over the next 30 minutes, with stomachs filled with as much seafood as we could have eaten, we saw rainbows, the beautiful glow of the golden hour, thunder and lightning of the impending storm, and smiles on my wife and teenage children that I have missed over the past year. What an amazing trip, an amazing last evening, and an amazing world. No virus will ever stop us from enjoying life ever again.More

Abigail T, I am not sure why you are punishing the restaurant for the behavior of a local who had nothing to do with the restaurant. Your review is the only negative one of this restaurant and you then go on to complain... More
