Excellent beachfront lunch restaurant!

Aqua Sport has sufficient and easy parking, with parking on the street if lot is full as it was when we went. A good variety of chicken and fish fingers or taco's as you prefer with plenty of other choices and reasonably prices beverages. Location is the best on the best and seating area ambiance is top of the class. Service is excellent and they even have beach chairs out front to which they serve bevvies as your group enjoys beach and ocean time. This is also an excellent sunset location!

Great location on the beach with excellent food

Fabulous place to hang at the beach and enjoy cocktails and excellent food. They provide nice Adirondack chairs and chase lounges so you can stay all day at the beach for the price of a drink and/or lunch. We spent many days here. The fish sandwich is excellent as are the pina coladas and orange Moscow mules. Service staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Yes Yes Yessss So much yesss.

Yes Yes Yessss So much yesss. One of my favorite restaurants and places to hang out/ relax/ and enjoy a good sunset. They recently remodeled and it looks 10x better than before. This is my go to weekly escape on Sundays. They provide everything from cold beer, great chili guaros and even fresh ceviche, to name a few. I recommend this place for pretty much any occasion, big groups, special dates, special occasions, and good times. Sometimes they’ll even hire a Dj for the day and it really makes the experience that much nicer. Thank you aquasport!

3rd time is not the charm

I have been to Aqua Sport three times as I really wanted to like it, because of the location. Not sure why food on the water has not been a good choice in Costa Rica. This was our third trip to Costa Rica and we went to see if it was different this time. Nope, same bad food. I ordered a salad on a previous trip and it came to me as a hot plate with vegetables. I asked if this was the salad on the menu i ordered and the water said it was. It looked like a sad looking starry and I couldn't eat it with the warm wilted lettuce. The second time we went, there were over 12 children running around between the tables and screaming. I asked why the management would allow this and they answered that the owners allow their own kids and friends to let the kids do what ever they want. We left after one drink as clearly the customer was not important to the owners. Third time we visited it was little quieter, but my cerviche was very sour and lacked flavor. I was really excited to have it as it sounded great. I shared my boyfriends fish dish and it was an over cooked piece of fish and fries. Unexciting and expensive. I hear the music is great when they have a band playing. Will not return. We did try.

Disappointed that our meals were not as good as we have come to expect

We have been patronizing Aquasport for more than ten years. It has consistently been one of our favorite restaurants. However, the last two times we have visited, Tuesday night and another night a few weeks ago, we were totally disappointed. The calamari was not at all flavorful, our chaufa rice didn't taste as delicious as usual and both of our drinks were not only short on alcohol, but they didn't much resemble the margarita and mojito we ordered. When we went a few weeks ago and had the same mediocore food, we assumed the regular Peruvian chef was on vacation. Now we aren't sure what is going on but hope and pray that Aquasport will address their deficiencies quickly so we can once again return for regular tasty meals!

Served Us Seafood By Mistake When We Have Severe Seafood Allergy

Avoid this place. We told the waiter a number of times that we had a life threatening seafood allergy. They still delivered us breaded fish - thank god someone else tried it first. Not only that - they then charged us for that fish. Save your time and maybe your life by going elsewhere.

Good but a little disappointing

We went here because it had great reviews and I wish we had tried a different restaurant instead. It was good but I was really hoping it would be great. I had fish tacos which had received rave reviews (but said they'd be snapper). Mine were pretty meh (fish tasted almost frozen to me - the waiter said it was tilapia). My husband and one son had burgers, and my son felt really sick afterward. My other son had ceviche and fried seafood which he loved (but made me nervous).

Nice views with a side of disappointing food and slow service

We visited Aqua Sport in July 2021. It is conveniently located at Playa Hermosa with a parking lot in the back. Our waiter was okay and very slow, food was below average and did not feel particularly clean. We ordered ceviche, hamburger, fish taco, fried calamari and a couple of rice dishes. I can't recommend Aqua Sport and will not be going back.

Great location and good food

The beach location is beautiful. The food was good. Fish tacos were delicious (could have used more salsa but the fish was outstanding). The conch shell ceviche salad was amazing. Our three year old loved the caprese salad and ate the entire plate. The music was a little loud but it matched the beach vibe.

Awesome Ceviche and Cucumber Gin drinks

We were in Playa Hermosa for a week and spent many a day at Aqua Sport. Their Ceviche was amazing and I ate a version thereof daily! We were a group of 11 and tried many of the beverages as well. Our favourite was what I would call a Cucumber Mojito but they called it a Gin and Cucumber. It was refreshing and delicious. Their Long Island Ice Tea and Pina Colada were also both good. Their regular Mojito was unlike any Mojito I have seen or tasted, is was a slushy green beverage that tasted somewhat similar but wasnt anywhere close to the original. For atmosphere and beach side ambiance, this is the place to go.

Average good at exorbitant price

This beach bar/restaurant has a nice location, but is wildly overpriced. The food is just average, small portions, and nothing special. Four burgers, four beers and two lemonades was $90, the prices on the menu don’t include the tax or service, so beware when ordering. If you are ok to spend this much for lunch in the beach, then yes it’s ok.

Ambiance

Excellent ambiance and vibe on the beach. They did all the boring things very well (like chicken strips or hamburgers for the kids) but overall the more interesting food choices were average and on the pricey side...still worth it for the vibe at sunset. Had some excellent live music when we were there.

Delicious prep of our catch

If you catch fish in Costa Rica, take them here to have them prepared. We brought Mahi Mahi and wahoo. They were prepared as ceviche, battered, and grilled with great veggies and fries and AMAZING sauces. We have gone to restaurants with our catch several times, but this was by far the best. It's a simple place right on the beach and the food prep was world class delicious. The wait staff was attentive. Prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to go back to CR to eat here....after catching more fish! Do remember some insect repellent to be comfortable in this great outdoor setting.

Quick Sunset Dinner

We came here from the beach as we were walking by to get Dinner and a couple of drinks. The waiter was real attentive. The calamari and rice was very good and the beers were cold. The only issue was we had a lot of flies (we were outside so it really goes with the territory; just keep one hand available to shew them away.) The sunset was fantastic and the experience was really relaxing. There was a massage table nearby if you still couldn’t get relaxed but, we were chilled enough to not need it.

Nice beachfront and music

This restaurant was highly recommended to us, so we had dinner at sunset. My wife had fish tacos which were excellent with a large serving and great value. I had mahi mahi which was OK but not great..... salad was way too small and fries were just average. Music was American songs which was a change from Latin music at most local restaurants. Service was great.
