Food was Special. We have a condo in Coco and it was our first time trying Indian food. Damn, we have been missing out. We had lamb curry and butter chicken. Both dishes were fabulous.i dont like all the add on style of pricing. We ordered our meals to find out the rice and the fabulous naan bread was extra. It clearly stated prices didn’t include the service charge and taxes so that coupled with charges for the rice and bread just didn’t feel right.

We’re always looking for Indian food and to find it and love it near the beach in Playa del Coco, Costa Rica is a dream come true. It’s a lovely spot on the Main Street upstairs so you are away from the crowds but great for people watching. The service was so very good, the moment we sat down we had a cold bottle of water and tasty chutneys to try. We loved every bite and even ordered food to go so we could continue enjoying later at home. Great value for everything and you can tell it’s all made with love. We highly recommend the Butter Chicken and Beef Nilgiri Korma… the raita is also a standout! Perfect naan too!

Superb, excellent if not the best indian food I've ever eaten.
Tonight I had the Chicken Coconut Curry dish: chicken was tender, cooked at perfection.
Along with it, was the coconut-curry sauce.
A mix I've never experienced before.
It was a treat to my senses.
Place was air conditioned, bathrooms perfectly clean, perfect waitress service.
I hope I can go back to this place before the end of my holidays.

What a treat to find such great Indian cuisine in Playa del Coco. Have been to this location on several occasions in the last year and it never disappoints. Excellent service and vast array of choice in the menu makes it easy for everyone to order what they like. The garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken biryani are fabulous. Working my way thru the menu. So many great flavors to try. Can’t wait for my next visit

We have enjoyed Indian cuisine in many countries, but this was probably the best.
This location has only been open approximately 4 months, but they have two other locations.
The food was freshly prepared to order and lacked the oiliness that is sometimes found in Indian food.
The portions were larger than usual which was a nice surprise and allowed for sharing the various dishes between 4 people.
The staff were friendly and accommodating.
We highly recommend Masala.

I never expected to find an Indian restaurant in El Coco, let alone two different ones. The other one (Naans & Curries) is a chain, which is also really good, but I felt like trying something different. I had the red snapper masala, which was really good and had a nice touch of the local fare. Indian food is a bit pricey here, but it was a great meal, totally worth it. The staff was really nice (and actually Indian), and the restaurant location is excellent.

Ate here for the first time tonight. Was super excited to see a South Asian restaurant in Coco. The place was busy. The staff seemed very attentive and helpful. The food came out at a nice pace.
They have an interesting flavor profile - more leaning towards ginger than heat from chiles. My only quibble was I ordered it “Indian hot” as referred to in another review comment by the owner/manager. It was very bland - tasted like something you would put on a pizza as a topping. I asked for some chili paste, and a couple bowls of that later, and it was the right spice.
Very interesting menu, creative drinks, will definitely return again. Restaurants come and go quickly here. A few strong survive for the long haul. I hope Masala is one of them.

Thoroughly impressed with how wonderful this restaurant is. In an area which appears to be a lot of bars and cash grabbing restaurants, Masala is truly a one of a kind restaurant for the Coco Beach area.
The food was delicious and prepared fresh and hot. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Mojito was perfect to go along with the spicy food.
If you like Indian, definitely try this place.

Very good service and the food is delicious and the portions are real big
The place is beautiful and the waiters are always around in case you need something ! Vegetarian, vegan and meat
They have a lot of options including Indian drinks and deserts
This is my fav at coco and since they hot here I try to go as much as I can for the lamb! And the naan

This was the first indian restaurant i ate at @Costa Rica and i was pleasantly surprised to find that the taste is good as some of the best restaurants in Toronto or North America in general. I know when i taste some good dal makhani. The portions were generous and the price is reasonable. I am glad i stopped by here. If you are craving some good north indian food in the region give this place a try.

Authentic Indian food far surpassed our expectations! Service was top notch, restaurant clean and located in the centre of Coco.
Butter chicken, Kadhai chicken, garlic and plain naan bread and samosas were excellent. Pakoras and Vegetable rice was also very flavourful. People sitting next to us ordered Tandoori chicken which looked amazing! My sister ordered a sizzling brownie on a cast iron pan. It was actually smoking when it arrived at our table. Excellent desert!
You must try this gem of a restaurant.

Great and authentic food. we met the chef too, he came out to check on us and invited us to look at the tandoor in the kitchen. great naan and curries. my kids were craving Indian food and this was perfect break. Easy to find. Delicious rice pudding!!

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had . The menu is extensive, between four of us we ordered wide variety of food and everything was fabulous. The flavors are so well balanced.
The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely . I really can’t say enough about our meal here .

We were 4 who dined here tonight. We had dishes with lamb, chicken, prawns and beef. Sides of noodles, rice and 2 types of naan bread. All dishes were a delight for our palates. Service was friendly and exceptional.
