Wonderful place and people ! After spending disappointing time and breakfasts around Costa Rica we found this gem. The breads and pastries are made fresh daily, and are right out of the oven and done so well. The Vegetarian breakfast with egg done to perfection with all the fresh ingredients onto of bread just out of the oven was delicious. My wife and two teens raved about their dishes as well. Excellent fresh coffee from Costa Rica to compliment. The owner and staff seemed to have a real passion for making it right.

James you are the Man!
Our goal is to do a few things to the best of our abilitites. We introduced the Vegetarian toast becaused we enjoy concious and healthy eating. We figured that if we like to take care of bodies and provide our souls with the right type of fuel then there will be other people out there who will also follow our lead. At the same time who says healthy eating has to be boring eating?! Guayoyo´s Vegetarian toast is a perfect example of healthy yet delicious food!
Thank you James and your family for your support. This comment made our day and it will also encourage us to keep going and keep creating. Looking forward to hosting you guys again soon!

We have been in Playas del coco for just a month and have come to Guayoyo almost every day for our morning coffee and delicious breakfast be it a warm ‘cruffin’ which is my husband’s favourite or avocado toast for me. It has a great atmosphere indoors or outside and we have met wonderful people that we now call friends there. Everyone is so welcoming!! Drop by you may see us there usually around 8:30 ☺️

So so good! All of it. Everything. Come here for breakfast, lunch, coffee, a refreshing smoothie, a delicious pastry, a cookie, or just good company in a nice atmosphere. Just whatever you do, come here while in Coco!! José and his staff are so friendly and accommodating. We love this place and will miss it so much when we go back home! Pura Vida!

Excellent staff and atmosphere only to be surpassed by their delicious coffee and food. Today ( I was there a couple of days ago) I tried a croissant with ham and cheese with a passion fruit juice on the side..... it was so good! The people are super friendly and attentive and the café is so modern, spacious and pleasant. Will definitely repeat while in Coco.

Finally strong real coffee!!! This place has an amazing ambiance. The pastries and staff make this place so enjoyable. Definitely the best damn coffee in town a must try. I highly recommend the light flaky delicious guava muffins basically a croissant like deliciousness. Just go you won’t regret it. Pura Vida

We didn’t enjoy the vibe of the main strip of Playa de Coco and we’re extremely happy that we met the owner of Guayoyo, Jose. This coffee shop is away from the busy street. Coffee and their baked goods are simply delicious. Staff is super friendly!

Service was friendly and prompt. The sweet corn pancake filled with beef and a delicious sauce was filling and different. What a great surprise this little place was. We will go back soon.

We found this place in a strip mall. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but food and coffee were full of flavor! I especially liked The Champ for breakfast…great combination of fresh ingredients created a unique experience. Pour over coffee and smoothies were very good. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Pleasant, English speaking staff. Highly recommended!

I saw the “Bakery” sign from the street and I was hooked. The restaurant area is clean and appealing. I enjoyed a cinnamon roll with a cream cheese frosting, as well as a cappuccino. Both were excellent. We also loaded up on some artisan chocolate bars and some jerky that we had found at a farmer’s market earlier in the week. It’s a very pleasant little place.

Rated best coffee shop for a reason. Great coffee and scrumptious breakfast. My wife and I each had a coffee with an omelette. Omelettes are served with interesting Argentine breads on the side. We are going here again tomorrow!

Excellent Coffee House and Pastry shop. We stopped here a couple of times during our stay in Playa del Coco. We ate lunch here after a day of diving and I was full after eating the Casado with Venezuelan Beef. We grabbed some biscuits on the way to a second day of diving and ate them on the way to the pick-up spot. Very nice people and good food.

I had read great reviews and we have one vegetarian person with us, so this looked just right. Two of the three of us didn't really like our meal much. I had Cuban (pulled pork) sandwich - - very little pork on it, and for the price, it was disappointing. They also put a slice of deli ham which was weird to me for a Cuban, and didn't add much in the way of taste. The smoothies were tasty however. Cute café shop /ambience.

We stumble onto this place looking for coffee and wow! What a find. Unfortunately for us, it was our last day in town, otherwise we would have gone to this place every day. We had the "Pudin de Pan" (Bread Pudding) and a "Golfeado" with cheese. It brought back memories from my childhood in Venezuela. Great atmosphere, cute place, delicious coffee and friendly staff. If I'm in the area again I will definitely would love to go and try the arepas and the cachitos, everything looked delicious and obviously made with love.

Guayoyo has it all - delicious coffee, Venezuelan breakfast foods, a great comfortable atmosphere and wonderful people. Seriously, one of the best lattes I've ever had and my partner said the guayoyo (think Veneauelan pour-over) was great. The food is fantastic. Definitely get an arepa and enjoy the magic.
The most special was how warm, welcoming, and passionate the team was. I can't wait to go back, but until then, I will dream of arepas and coffee.

As a vegan who eats here almost everyday I find the options are very flexible. Power bowl minus chicken, and Tico Bowl without the eggs and cheese are great.
The staff are people I consider family and the environment is warm and welcloming to anyone.
