The food and experience were awesome! They comped us with some herbal drinks and some soup as a starter. We met the owner and his family and they showed us the herb garden where they grow some of the herbs used in their drinks and...dishes. Going here is really an experience. They will tell you the story of how the business evolved and became what it is today. They take you to the fish market cooler and show you the fish and seafood. It is all fresh caught that day by their fisherman. Also, their drink list is unique with their own creations as well. We went for dinner, but they have a pool area so if you wanted to go earlier in the day and hang out and eat earlier I think you could do that too. We rented a golf cart and thats how we got there. It is not on the main strip- about a mile off it. However, it is worth your time and effort to find your way here.More
We’ve eaten here twice in two days thus far. The food is exceptionally fresh. The shrimp ceviche is incredible. Don’t miss the daily specials! The cocktails are as good as any I’ve had in the US. The service is exceptional as well - Adrian was...really amazing and friendly.
Would HIGHLY recommend overall!More
Fantastic little seafood spot in the purgatory that is Coco Beach. Great house ceviche - very bright marinade and nice mix of fish and sea critters. Lobster was also very good, if not generously portioned. Dessert was an apple galette - perfectly acceptable.
This is a gem of a restaurant, located a bit off the beaten path. Wonderful setting with a pool amd jacuzzi out back. Very fresh seafood with lobster served in a variety of ways that are all excellent. We ate an amazing grilled yellow fin...tuna that was cooked to perfection and came with a wonderful sauce. Service was very good and we are going back tonight for our last meal in Coco.More
Simply Outstanding! My family came here to celebrate my brother’s 40th birthday. The food was some of the best we tried in Costa Rica. The staff was attentive and helpful and went out of their way to celebrate my brother :)
Mar Azul is absolutely AMAZING, PHENOMINAL, OUTSTANDING, and INSTANTLY A MEMORY OF A LIFE TIME. All the seafood is caught by the Mar Azul fishermen, NO MIDDLE MAN, the morning of your feast. All of the herbs in the drinks and the food come straight...from the owners own personal farm, or from just behind the bar where there is a garden of herbs that looks better then any herb garden I have ever seen. I had a solid 2-3lbs lobster that was just juicy as could be, but I dipped it in a sauce that our waiter recommended to me that was off menu. The blue fin tuna sashimi was to die for, the scallops were incredible, and the service was par to none. I have never eaten at a place with such generous, kind, caring, and thoughtful staff anywhere in the world before. From South Africa, to Scotland, to Canada, across the US, Mexico and Costa Rica, Mar Azul stands above all in hospitality and quality. Not to mention the completely remodeled and cotemporary style which was absolutely beautiful. They also had a pool so bring a swim suit for a sunset poolside drink. I love this place and you will too!!!!!!!!!!! 11/5 Pura Vida!More
We visited this restaurant yesterday for the dinner. There was just a few people inside. We took the table below the trees. We were waiting for the waiter more than 15 minutes. Unfortunately, nobody came to serve us, offer us a drink.. even no one...came to clean our dirty table, full of dust, dead flies 🪰 and more. My kids were hungry and thirsty. We left this restaurant and will never ever come back, not even recommend it to anybody. It’s really surprising that some restaurant still have this kind of customer approach.More
We were surprised to find such a high level of cuisine in Del Coco! Quiet, relaxing atmosphere too, with tables placed around a pool and nicely landscaped. Excellent, friendly service from Adrian. We had to return!
On advice of our concierge we came here for lunch early in or vacation and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing food, servings, drinks and staff. Ordered the peal and eat for four that they split in half for me and more than happy. Well cooked -...sauces great. GF ordered lobster for two giant lobster tails with the fixings.
We arranged to go back two days later after an excursion for second trip in a week.
Highly recommend and if we are ever here again we will absolutely hit it up.
Only disappointment was inability to buy their t-shirt with the lobster logo on the back 8-)More
