The food is AMAZING! We had lobster, ceviche, rib eye, surf and turf and the kids even ordered grilled cheese. They made it all so fresh!! It was one of the best meals we had.
And, for price you pay for 3 lobsters here, you're lucky to get 1 mini small lobster tail back in the US. If you were going to venture out from Dreams Las Mareas, go here!

I visited the place twice and I think it is the best fresh seafood I tried in this area. Every meal was delicious, the service was well too. The prices are good, not crazy expensive and they have a nice view. I would visit again.

Great everything! Came here for lunch and dinner. Tasty dishes at reasonable prices. Lunch and dinner menu are the same. I'm allergic to seafood and they have ample non-seafood dishes. Best part is the view and the customer service. Get here before sunset to see the phenomenal view of the ocean and mountains.
Great staff and service. "Popeye", our waiter who looks like Cristiano Ronaldo is the best waiter we've ever had the pleasure to meet -- everything that you'd expect in a great waiter to be like , he is that! He is attentive, knowledgeable, and very professional. Im particular when it comes to tipping, and I can say Popeye truly deserved the tip. Overall a wonderful experience!

Copaleña, on the night we went, was an extremely disappointing experience. After reading many 5 star reviews we anticipated a wonderful meal. The 5 of us were seated at a very impressive, huge Guanacaste slab table for 12 that was so big and the place was so noisy that we could not hear each other to have a conversation. We all eventually moved to a bench on one side of the table to talk.
The other drinks were ok but I got a terribly salty and expensive $17 top shelf margarita. The “medium well” ribeye was rare and chewy, the “med well” tenderloin was tender but very rare, barely cooked, the lobster tails were cold. The two seafood dishes were okay. We like al dente but the vegetable medley was raw. The waitress said the chef and owner were sorry we didn’t enjoy our meal, but neither came to visit our table.
While we were eating the nauseating smell of a disinfectant used to clean another table wafted through the air.
To cap the evening the waitress came to the table and announced aloud that our meal was 91,000 colones. When asked for a check, she left and returned about 10 minutes later with an itemized bill for 100,000 colones. I wouldn’t normally do this, but I calculated on my phone the total was 83,000. It turned out they had added the 10% gratuity twice.

We had dinner all 4 of us ordered lobster. We had the grilled and the garlic lobster. We ordered Cervesse shrimp and seafood. All of the sides were excellent as well. We were staying at the Los Moreas and our concierge Esteban recommended this restaurant. The food was excellent. Family owned and seafood is fresh.

The restaurant is well located. We went at night so we didn't see the landscape. I recommend arriving at sunset to appreciate the sky and the view. The food was very delicious. Especially the seafood grill which is abundant, enough for 2 people to eat, the octopus and lobster are exquisite. The shrimp tacos are very good. For dessert we ordered pears in red wine, a delight. I highly recommend it, it's worth what you pay. Yes I would go again.

We had an an awesome time and they served us a typical Costa Rican meal with genuine coffee. The meal was Casado with one plate as pork and other as chicken! Excellent!

We are so happy we found La Copalena. After being very dissatisfied with the resort food we were dying to try authentic Costa Rican food. We went on a Wednesday night. The service was excellent and the food was top notch. Thank You La Copalena for giving us a lovely dinning experience. Highly Recommend!
