For sure they paid for the star !!!!!! Everything was bad actually. We left before the end of the meal... I really don’t understand how they can say it’s good restaurant. In a way it could « look » good but it’s not. It’s really basic place...who pretend good level.More

One of the best meals we had in a 3 week tour if China. The fact that the food is vegetarian was almost incidental given the variety of textures and creativity of the preparations. Many dishes featured a wide array of mushrooms.

Dining solo as a treat to help counteract the jet lag, I went to Wujie on a Saturday lunchtime at 13.00. For this time, I was surprised that the place was rather empty, making the reservation unnecessary. The restaurant is on the 4th floor of...22 the Bund, a building with a fine interior that has very helpful security and reception staff to point you in the right direction of the restaurant. The staff at Wujie were very helpful, friendly, and all spoke English. I went for the "Timeless" autumn set menu of 7 courses for 399 RMB. All dishes were well up to scratch and all vegetarian; the most interesting being the Sichuan style golden oyster mushroom on puff pastry to start, the tastiest being the baked chestnut mushroom with Thai sweet chilli sauce, and my favourite being the chocolate avocado pomelo mousse to finish. Overall, a lovely experience, in a quiet, refined setting, and one well worth the Michelin rating.More

First of all, Shanghai is full of amazing restaurants. Some of them have Michelin stars and I simply cannot understand how on Earth Wujie has got one. One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. The menu looks nice as do the portions but there is...very little taste in anything. We prefer vegetarian food and go to restaurants a lot, also in the Michelin guide, and this must be our biggest disappointment ever. The service was bad, too: they do not have any wine packages and we got wrong wine. No one introduced the courses or the wine when they arrived. Moreover, no one spoke English so we could not share our views with anyone either. As the top of the iceberg do not pay by a foreign card: the waitress will choose you to pay in your own currency instead of RMB which will result in 3% extra fee and your bank's poor exchange rate. They do not know how to fix it and we would not take the risk that we would be charged twice for such a poor experience. All in all, go somewhere else - Shanghai is full of amazing restaurants for half the price.More

The Wujie is an excellent vegetarian restaurant. For us, definitely one if the best vegetarian restaurants we have ever been. Food tastes delicious and is presented nicely. Definitely a perfect place to have a high quality, high class lunch or dinner. Even though a little...more expensive than usual restaurants the food experience we had definitely justified the price. Food was very delicious! The chef‘s Michelin star is well deserved. This is definitely a place we want to visit again once being back in Shanghai.More

This is the first time we ever had a vegetarian Michelin Starred meal. The dishes were very creative and well presented. They were also very tasty. We opted for the sets; Clouds and Temple. The latter has no garlic or onions or leeks. The waitress...was extremely informative as each dish is told a story. The restaurant is friendly.More

This was an amazing experience. The staff was freindly and attentive. The atmosphere was upscale but the food was out of this world. This was by far the best vegetarian dining experience we have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes...the finer things in life.More

Excellent service and excellent food. We were overwhelmed. After adventurous experiences in Shanghai I was relieved to find a place which could satisfy our standards as to hospitality and quality. Ordering was easy via tablets, staff could also advise on food allergens (which is rather...an exception in china). All dishes - from soup to dessert - were fabulous. Absolute recommendation, not only for vegetarians.More

Myself and my meat eater husband visited on a trip to Shanghai. We both had the Temple set menu and every bite was superb. It was a real treat to eat Michelin starred fully vegetarian/ vegan local food. Staff polite and courteous. The only thing...is westerners should bring cash - my MasterCard credit card wouldn’t work there.More
