The tag line is something like Funky Junky Redneck Joint. I think this is a bit under-selling. I had the shrimp BLT and my husband had the Hurricane Burger. Both were great. The food is served in baskets and the place has a local pub/bar...feel. We were there for a late lunch, but by 3p it was starting to get busier. Service was just okay, but food and margarita was excellent for a late lunch stop. Menu has something for everyone.More

We went for lunch at 11:30 figuring it wouldn't be busy, it was. Even a sign on the door saying since they were understaffed it might take some extra time to get served. We walked right in and were seated immediately, good sign, right? But...it was 20 minutes before anyone came over, in fact we set a time we were going to leave and the waitress arrived at the same instant. So we stayed. On the other hand the food was excellent, we ordered a crawfish pistol, not really knowing what that was and split a shrimp poboy with OMG sauce. I think the pistol was a small French roll stuffed with OMG sauce, a crawfish sauce that would make a flip flop taste good. Wonderful. Then the poboy was full of nice fried shrimp and covered in more OMG sauce, delish! We would go back, the quality and taste of the food overcame the initial delay.More

It was the best food we had on our trip. My wife and I were staying down the road at the hotel on the point. We decided we wanted to venture out and try something else. I would highly recommend it. The server was great...the people at the other tables were great. I had a fried seafood basket that was lightly battered. It was very good. My wife had broiled shrimp that she enjoyed it as well. It is casual dining at its best.More

We love visiting Fairhope and decided to have lunch at Fish River grill. The by the bay is a bid deceiving as the bay is not within view. However the food makes up for the view. We had the shrimp po boy and I had...the crawfish pistol both were amazing The best part of the meal was the collard green soup. It is such a treat. Also the chocolate cake at the end was an unexpected treat The peach margarita was delicious as the Fairhope IPA was good as well.More

My wife and I were staying at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama and decided to try Fish River Grill by the Bay. We ate there twice.. One day we had hamburgers, which were large and good. The other visit, I had fried seafood...and my wife had broiled fish with a creole sauce. Both dishes were very good. It is not a fancy place, but it has very good food. The waitress was very nice and efficient. I would recommend it for a casual nightMore

OMG! This restaurant is a must for people in this area. The crab claws are to die for! & huge! The swamp soup is delicious! Their fried cheese curds are from another planet good. Our son, who only eats chicken, loved their chicken fingers. They...weren’t your average chicken fingers. They honestly are quite tasty. Bloody Mary’s were fabulous too! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals & left stuffed to the gills! Will be back!More

The fish wasn't quite as good as it was at the Fish River Grill in Foley. Great that the fried catfish is gluten free. The fries had a little to much seasoning for me. They are kind of off the beaten path, even though they...are right on alt 98 in Fairhope. Great service. Will probably go back to the one in Foley the next time.More

I read the reviews on here so decided to give it a try . The swamp soup comes as a side and is in a small 2-4 oz cup . This was actually pretty good .. greens cooked in a meat broth with some beans.... The hush puppies had great flavor with small peppers inside and the tarter sauce was very very good . That’s where it ended . If you are a po boy lover beware !*** the breading is not toasted nor did it seem like French bread . More like bread from the store . There is no rem sauce it’s just gumbo poured on top . My husband got the fish feast (variety ) it tasted like an upgraded captain ds . Atmosphere was great . Sever was attentive but not friendly . Won’t be back but, it’s pretty cool looking on the inside . Total was around 71 dollars for 3 adult mealsMore

Good fried seafood. My husband had the seafood platter and I had fried shrimp. Not greasy like some fried food. Sadly, we had to stop a waitress because no one came to our table after we had been seated for about 7-8 minutes. Once we...had a waitress, she was very good and attentive. Swamp soup - if you are from the south, you probably have had something similar. It was tasty.More

Look on Facebook or her web page. I'm not sure what would be for a non seafood water.
