Fantastic Food, Simple Atmosphere

My father and I ate here and we were both very impressed with the quality of the food and the prices. We both got catfish sandwiches with onion rings and highly recommend them. Our waitress was great, the cashier was a bit grumpy. The atmosphere is pretty bland, like a quick stop dinner, but the food makes up for that.

Always makes you feel like you have just sat down at Your Mama’s table...cornbread dressing, fresh veggies, homemade macaroni and cheese, baby corn pones, and the creamiest chicken soup. You won’t be disappointed if you like home cooking just right

Very good lunch

Stopped on a trip to Nashville and had a great lunch. Good home cooking and fields peas and cabbage were excellent. Country fried steak was delicious and they had bread pudding which was very good. Service was perfect too. I’d stop again for sure. The junior portion was very generous also.

Felt like grandma's cooking.

Basically, good southern home cooking. Food tasted great. Service was quick and friendly. Felt like I was at my grandma's house. Clearly was a favorite of locals.

Good food, fast and friendly service,

Just driving through this town and stopped for lunch. We were seated right away even though the restaurant was busy. The waitress was efficient and friendly despite all the tables she was working. Our lunch selections were very good - particularly the blacked fish over rice. The tartar sauce tasted homemade and the tea was perfect. Like to visit local restaurants rather than chains when traveling but was a little leery that this place might be closed since no one had reviewed it in recent time.. Don't be confused when you arrive and think your GPS steered you wrong because it seems you arrived at a powersports dealership. The restaurant shares occupancy of the building with just such a dealership. The walls of the restaurant are hung with old B&W photographs of everything from Joe Namath to Barney Fife (which seemed especially appropriate given Barney's interactions with the Blue Bird Diner!). And, there is a large across the wall window that lets you see all the ATVs, trailers, etc. in the powersports shop. Would definitely eat here again if we drive through Dothan!

Small, quiet restaurant with great food and great service

Great food, great service. This small restaurant is my preferred go-to place to eat. One of the best in Dothan. I prefer the chef salad, but other items on the menu are great.

A place the locals go

Just good food! Quick service, friendly staff, clean. Nightly special included Salmon Croquettes, while hubby enjoyed chicken gizzards. We got there early and the place filled up fast. When all the locals pile in, you know you're getting something good. Blackberry cobbler topped the evening.

Horrible

Right now everything is still curbside pick-up which is fine. I eat that this restaurant 2 to 3 times a week. Tonight on 04/29/2020 I ordered the chicken and dumplings along with everyone else's food. When I got home my chicken and dumplings was mostly soup with one dumpling and not one piece of chicken. Everyone else's food was good. I completely understand with what is going on in this country at the moment. Still there is no excuse for a meal to come out like this.

Friendly service and great food.

I had lunch here with friends and it could not have been better. Anytime I am in your town I will go out of my way to eat here. The food is great and the service is better. There were three of us for lunch. We all got different dishes and we were all very happy with the meal. Thank You

Very good comfort food

We are passing through and stopped in the city for the night. This restaurant was close and had good reviews. The food was great! We didn’t want any food that could upset our stomach, since tomorrow is a full driving day. This place solved that. It’s menu is full of comfort food dinners. I had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and my partner had the cube steak with onion rings. Both were good portions and delicious. We were able to get the blackberry crumble dessert instead of a second side. YUM! The place was crowded, but not packed. It looks like it has a lot of locals, which is always a good sign. This will be our restaurant on our yearly pass through.

If you like home cooking. then this is the place to eat. When I travel by car I am always looking for a good home cooking place to eat besides Cracker Barrel. Try it!!!!!!!
