Fresh flavors, great atmosphere

Stopped in after the recommendation of several friends... food was super fresh and flavors were on point! Price point is around $9-$10 per plate for generous portion sizes. This isn't your texmex usual fare, the California influence is a nice change up in flavors for familiar dishes such as tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas and burritos. Highly recommend the mango shrimp tacos and chicken chimichanga! Nacho portions are great size for sharing and queso dip is like a large soup bowl! Staff was friendly and restaurant was tidy and clean.

Mmmm mmmm good!

We ordered food to go from here and it was delicious! I got the burrito bowl with grilled chicken and santa fe sauce and it was fantastic! Large portion and fresh ingredients. My husband got the pork tenderloin wrap with the rice and pinto beans and it was tasty as well. Maybe if you eat authentic Mexican food frequently this food won’t excite you, but I think you should give this place a try. Only complaint was that we didn’t get plastic silverware to eat with, but fortunately our hotel had some. If we ever pass through Dothan again, we will definitely stop here!

Awesome Dog friendly stop!

Specifically picked this restaurant driving from Venice,florid to Birmingham. Needed dog friendly and they were. Right off the road to Birmingham… food was excellent. Service excellent and lovely outside seating. Put this on your list!

Worth a Return Visit

Not fancy, but the food was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed our selections, the waitress was helpful and friendly, and despite having several customers our wait was minimal. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent Restaurant in Dothan!!

The Cactus Flower is an excellent California Style Mexican restaurant and the food is always delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant for lunch or dinner when you are in Dothan!!

This little quiet restaurant is getting better all the time

We had the Shrimp Empanadas which were very good in flavor, crispness, and preparation. My only complaint, is that they were rather small and contained very little shrimp. They were really more like cheese/shrimp empanadas, with emphasis on cheese.

There is no doubt that you have to have their guacamole. You can tell it isn't some crap out of a can. I've been to South California many times and I can say that Cactus Flower rivals any CaliMex restaurant in South California. My wife is from Texas and she thinks Cactus Flower food is among the best.

We eat here a LOT

This is a fantastic little restaurant that seems a little “unknown” in Dothan. And that’s good for us as we eat there at least once a month. This place features high quality “Mexican” food without the grease and usual beans and lard filled beans. They offer two types of beans and two types of rice. And they have specials each night that are the same (more or less) during each month. My favorite are the tamales on Wednesday nights- simply fantastic. If you like Mexican food and want the best in town (without a long wait)- this is your place!!!
