Very clean, bright welcoming restaurant that served superb fresh food.
The biryani was definitely South Indian style- plain but it was fresh & very tasty.
Price is relative to the freshness & quality of ingredients.
We were vary happy

We had fine lamb Biryani and grilled chicken shared by three of us last week at lunch time. Both the foods were not so piping hot and somewhat they were warm enough to eat. Porcelain vessel are really good.

One of those atmosphere places that are popular by tradition and reputation .
Mainly a Biryani place but with a large Chinese , continental and fast food menu as well ,which are probably avoidable ! A seperate air conditioned area . The food is about Ok ,with the Mutton Biryani being the signature .

The food was terrible. It was not hot. The briyani was cold and moreover the egg in the briyani had half ripped eggshell which i have attached in the photos. The chicken was so hard and rubbery.
The service was fine by the waiter. But we wanted to talk to manager about this as I always talk to them to give a chance to rectify before i post a review but we were told to wait as they gonna bring the manager. But after 10 mins they said manager left the place. They can't lie properly too.
Anyway would not recommend this branch of Buhari!

Went to their fine dining section THE MUGHAL on Christmas Eve. The ambience was very much Turkish an I being vegetarian enjoyed bread with khumus which was very much like one in Istanbul (except it was slightly oily). Ambience service and food taste (non vegetarian dishes as per my family) was excellent. Although on the pricier side it’s worth the experience

Lunch at Mughal was a great experience. Impeccable service. Lovely cuisine. Highly recommend. Don’t miss their mocktail selection. Very refreshing.

Definitely lives up to its reputation - food is delicious and service is brilliant! You should try their cream bun and the chicken 65, which legend says was invented here. Food is amazingly delicious, and they customise the taste to your spice tolerance etc.
Service is brilliant too - my 6yr old daughter accidentally pushed over a glass bottle that broke all over the table, and about 4 members of staff rushed to ensure we were all safe and unhurt, and spent the next 10mins helping us calm my daughter down and getting us bunches of tissues and towels. They got us another table immediately and were amazing throughout - always checking on us, and when it was time to leave, they walked us out to the road to show us directions to the closest metro station.
It’s not how glitzy a restaurant is or the prices on the menu that defines a great one - it’s the small things that add up, and in our books, Buhari is definitely one of those greats. Definitely worth trying if you’re in Chennai.

Chanced upon this cafe one evening shown to AC area and seated in pleasant area
Service attentive without being over the top
Food served quickly and good quantity and quality
Shared food served at the table
Excellent staff with good command of English
Food very reasonably priced

While Bihari serves great Biryani and non vegetarian food... they need to concentrate on having a clean wash area and wash rooms... time to up the ante on these areas...

We visited Buhari's in Nov. 2019 & even though the Blue Stalls have long gone & been replaced, the food & friendly staff still remain. This iconic restaurant is so special, you cannot say you visited Mount Road without having a meal at Buhari's. It has served many, many people & like me are sure to have wonderful memories. I would like to say hello to Richard J, Ricardo Dm & Gary Mck. you fellas were so gracious & great reps. for Buhari's.

Amazing food...the drumstick chicken were heaven sent...the biriyani and the fried rice was spot on...but the best were the fresh juices..visited their bakery for a sweet takeaway and the salt puffs and coloured marzipan were wonderful

The taste of buharis's briyani is very nice but the Price is little high when compared to other hotels but it is worthy to have briyani there.

A visit to Buhari, takes you down the memory lane... Buhari is known for its vintage outlook and a graceful team of senior service managers who excel in warm and homely treatment of guests... From the security guards to the valet drivers, they treat every guest as a King...
It's a wonderful place to relish biryani, paya, chukka varuval, brain fry and fabulous parota.... The taste of some of these have not changed for decades...
Buhari dhum tea and bun butter jam is available until 3 am everyday and it has its own following... People of every walk of life from a bike to a BMW drive down for a cup of dhum tea...
Buhari has etched it's Mark in the history of Chennai.... What an achievement... Great work team Buhari...!!!
