We weren't expecting this amazing dinner and we were greatly surprised. We start by smuggling small bites of cause, followed by an absolutely delicious soup (lollipop) and grilled lamb. I'm glad I had lunch in this place.

I had misgivings when I was shown my room. It seemed very basic and needed freshening up. The bathroom felt the same way. The room faced the river but in October there wasn't much water. However, my three days went by quickly and I adapted...to the drabness. For $40 per night, it was a good deal in overpriced Aguas Calientes. Keep in mind that the owner and her teenage daughter don't speak a word of English which can cause unexpected problems and misunderstandings.More

Activity level in this hotel is low, providing a quiet atmosphere. The building construction being concrete with heavy wooden doors, an overly aggressive swing on the door will reverberate in the building. The ambient sound of the river on back side of the building is...very pleasant and the view out the window is stunning of the rocky cliff and vivid green foliage. The bedding is perfect for the cool evenings that we experienced in early August. The pillows were my only point of criticism, personal taste maybe. The location is close to the train station and Machu Picchu bus but far enough up the street to not have foot traffic congestion like some of the other areas of Aguas Calientes. The breakfast was like those that we had in other hotels, the orange juice was always good. It appears to be family run venture, the staff were friendly, and willing to go out of there way to help. Plus they were more than patient with my lack of Spanish. The hot water was wonderful but not available later in the day. In summary, this was a very comfortable, clean and simple hotel. In the 3 days that I was in Aguas Calientes, I saw no other hotel that looked more appealing.More

Conveniently located near the train station and close to the bus for Machu Picchu. It is on the river and the noise is quite something but with the windows closed it wasn't too bad. We stayed one night and because we were leaving early (5am)...we would miss breakfast, much to our surprise we had a packed breakfast waiting for us. When we got back to Aguas Calientes we had a few hours to wait for our train and were able to use the internet. The beds are worth a mention as they were the most comfortable we had found in Peru with good quality sheets. It was hard getting up early. The shower had enough hot water for a couple of showers.More

Place is pretty budget. No hot water and general wet feeling made the hostel pretty unpleasant. Most rooms either have train noise or ragging river noise....I kind of liked the river but my wife did not. On a positive not it's cheap and conveniently located...to all.More
