Modern style Restaurant with dishes that reflect the rich in taste Brazilian food in a top gourmet way. True pieces of art which includes the tableware are brought to your table and explode in the mouth! The wine pairing was mainly European which is due to the taste of the food a good choice as Europe offers the largest variety of wine tastes. It was extremely generous offered! The Service is impeccable. The Restaurant is found in one of the safest and most noble quarters of Rio. The doorman who does also valet parking sprinted for us short moment away to find a taxi for us! More service and experience is hard to get in the whole of South America!

First, Oro is not cheap. Secondly, it is worth the money spend. We had family dinner with teenagers. Some of the appetizers were on my opinion heavenly, others just good, but those I liked the least were the favorites of the kids. The wine pairings of the "hands", appetizers, were at some level surprising, but the wines were great. All the mains were really delicious. It was also nice that when our daughter wanted less mains and more desserts they were happy to accomodate her wishes. If you like fine cuisine, definetely worth a visit.

Oro is the only Michelin 2 star in Rio and highly deserving. Food is creative, gorgeous, and delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. You will be served by a variety of staff during your stay and all are great but a special shout out to James who had a great sense of humor. Each dish has many elements and often surprising combinations but the staff ensure ahead that all are items you can do. In addition to the "hands" (appetizers to eat with your hands), you have a choice of either 2 or 4 of 5 entrees. Entrees are not large but filling after the hands. I chose 2 and James assured me if I was still hungry I could add on 2 more at the end. I was full. I ordered the beef and pork. My friend got the chicken rice and octopus. All excellent. You then have a choice of 1 of 3 desserts -- the chocolate, banana, passion fruit is superb! Dress ranged from suits to jeans and all are made to feel special. Highly recommended.

This is a night of taste explosions in your mouth, many mini courses of amazing food. It deserves all its accolades and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Do yourself a favor and take the night off, away from the crappy beach food to dress up and go here. We absolutely loved it. Staff was attentive, informative and even gave us a menu to take home to remember the dishes. Highly recommend the chicken and rice (yes you read that correctly), and pork as main dish choices. Though my husband chose beef, and he loved that too.

I would say the best thing was the whole experience all together, including the service, food and drinks. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you feel like you are appreciated. The service is amazing, its like they know what you need before you have to ask. The food is sophisticated, with a combination of flavors and textures that are so unique. And the wine pairing is a top notch. Definitely recommend the chateau Ksara from Lebanon. Even for a fine dining restaurant I thought the pricing was high, but worth it.

Had a great experience. I won't go into the hiccup as they resolved it at or above our expectation, which is what I want to mention. Not all the time can everything be perfect. When an unfortunate occurrence happens, its either an opportunity or it can lead down a road of continued anguish for patrons. They resolved the issue and made it right. That is what customer service is about and why I suggest this high end, quality restaurant. The level of service by all, including kitchen staff who delivered most of our plates was 5 star! Shall I mention the food! Very fun, creative and tasteful menu! Fusion at it's best. I can see why they received their Michelin rating. Don't let the price scare you away. It is worth it! Oh, if you get the wine paring, I suggest passing on the Libyan wine. Enjoy!

Oro was AMAZING! I've been travelling for a few years and had the opportunity to go to a few starred restaurants but I never had this experience before, the service was impeccable and the food was indescribable! There is a "brasilidade" in the dishes that made me proud to be brazilian. Thank you and hopefully I'll come back once again. Ps: Oro it's definitely my number one restaurant now!

I have been going to Oro for the last six or seven years (minus the pandemic) so I think I am a regular. Food is innovative and often delicious but as other commentators wrote sometimes the subtle flavors get overpowered – like the pork cracker on which the oyster/sorbet was served yesterday – it just tasted like pork. Coming back frequently I sometimes ask myself whether it is a kind of masochism on my part as there are things that always annoyed me and those things do not tend to get better: Wine list – poor selection by any standards (use an app like wine searcher and check it out) you will barley find a wine that is in the 90s rating – in Europe or the US a two Michelin Star restaurant would be crucified for that. Air conditioning: I almost always freeze in this restaurant. There are two tables in the center that are better but on the sides or in the corner it is just arctic. Is this just me? I find it decidedly uncomfortable. I asked for a blanket and got it after one hour (no kidding) but it still makes me wonder why this place consistently aims for the price of the coldest restaurant in Rio. Service: Staff is verry nice and charming. English knowledge is an issue in Rio and this restaurant is no exemption. One also notices the lack of a hotel management school or other training that would put the staff on a level that is comparable to restaurants in this category in other countries. I ordered a wine, the one that was presented was a different vintage (it did not occur to the waitress that this is something that might matter), the wine was not served and after asking twice the waiter misunderstood that we wanted the wine pairing (not a good idea in general see my comments on the wine list) and put up a barrage of wine classes before we rectified the misunderstanding and finally got our wine. Will I go back? Yes if I can bring my own bottle (can I?), a warm jumper and trousers as then I do look forward to a nice evening there. But is this 2 Star Michelin? Only if one assumes that the standard of Michelin operate with some kind of country bonus. In London, Chicago, Milan or Hong Kong this restaurant would struggle to get a fraction of the recognition it has in Rio.

We’ve visited multiple Michelin restaurants during our visit in Rio and Oro was by far the best meal, service and experience without a doubt. We were lucky to have been seated in front of the kitchen by the chef. We got to see them in action which was really cool (highly recommend to request if possible). The service was attentive and they always checked on us. The food was amazing! I loved how they did multiple dishes from different origin such as Brazil inspired, Asian inspired, etc. We were truly so happy with the experience and would recommend anyone visiting Rio to dine at Oro.

I travel frequently for both work and vacation and have eaten at hundreds of Michelin restaurants. It’s always surprising when you can learn something new about food which ORO delivers. Service is fantastic and smiles are genuine. I had to expedite service, which they did very well. Like most ** or *** restaurants, with the amount of courses, you won’t like everything but can really appreciate the techniques and ideas. They can create small bites with a lot of surface area which really can heighten the flavor of the food. All the dishes taste well with several highlights: Eel+Rice, Corn Bread+Coffee, Pork Rib+Pineapple, Octopus+Collard Greens. The Green Papaya Dessert is simple in concept, but it tastes quite complex with the flavors and one of the best tasting bites I’ve ever had. The grilled bread and complimentary dessert bites are better than “typical” Michelin restaurants. I’ll be curious if they decide to go for ***.

What an amazing dining experience. We decided to reserve a spot at the chef's bar and go with the tasting menu. Each dish was meticulously crafted and paired with the right wine. The space is stunning with details to compliment the incredible service that surrounds the experience. A wonderful opportunity to get dolled up and enjoy an hour or two of fine dining with your loved ones.

Stylish and sophisticated restaurant in Rio. 1 Michelin Star. FANTASTIC taster menu- wine pairings available although they do also have a fantastic wine list with as many wines from Europe as South America. Service is seamless. Dishes are amazing conbination of flavours and textures and extremely well presented. Top end pricing as you would expect. A quality dining experience.

the food was very good, mostly the main courses and deserts, amazing. they were very nice to offer a cake with a sparkling firework for my wife’s birthday. what they need to pay attention to is at the details: they did not have wi-fi working and for a foreigner that was an inconvenience. the bathrooms are not looking 5 stars. wine paring should come with a glass of wine for each dish, but it did not - wasn’t such an inconvenience but the price is high for the amount of wine served

I never expected from myself to like a Michelin starred restaurant. True, there was a lot of pretentiousness - do you really need those giant plates with tiny food in the middle - but the truth is that the food was delicious. Not just tasty in the normal restaurant sense, but with flavor combinations you simply can't experience anywhere else. Would suggest to skip the wine pairing and just choose your own bottle, we ended up paying $140 in total which was definitely worth the experience.

Not pretentious at all. Just great gourmet dishes and great service. We practically had an exclusive server. She even noticed that I didn't eat one of the appetizers (I gave it to my wife) and she immediately came over and offered me a similar substitute. After all the appetizers were over we were offered (and accepted) an additional appetizer of our choice (in our case the ceviche which was phenomenal). All portions are small but there are many and I found it enough even though I selected the smaller dining option. This place pampers. Very expensive, but I suppose you get what you pay for . . .

Leblon
In addition to being one of the most upscale neighbourhoods in the city, Leblon is charming, elegant and simple. This posh area has some of the most famous and expensive restaurants in Brazil, along with some of the city’s best nightlife (including some places open all night). One of the best places to visit is the beach, located under the impressive “Morro Dois Irmãos” (Two Brothers Hill). It’s a pleasant place to relax and admire the local beauty.
