Hidden away in Loyola Heights/Katipunan area in Quezon City, is this gem of a place. Best known for its ambience - homey and cozy, with a seeming country-style vibe. Kids and young adults clearly would love the place. Menu offerings are typical pasta, sandwiches, and basic rice meals with their own unique twists. Their coffee and chocolate beverages are great and worth going back for.

Cafe Xocolat has been my go-to cafe whenever I would visit Mysterium Philippines in Katipunan. This was also my boyfriend's chill spot a few years back in their old location.
The interiors give a cozy, rustic vibe, that's perfect when you simply want to read a book while drinking coffee, or having a chill catching up with friends.
Here are some of the dishes that we have tried:
>Wicked. Spiced dark brew. Who knew you can have spicy coffee? This drink is a battle between good and evil. In the end, the good wins! It's a must-try if you want some adventure in your drink.
>Xoco Latte (Iced). I enjoy how they would pour the espresso for you. Coffee and milk just the way I like it. You may add sugar if you prefer but I like mine without it.
>Eggs and Sausage. Farm fresh scrambled eggs with sausage and white herb cheese. Nicely done scrambled eggs. Best for snacktime as I do not find it well-sating.
>Chorizo Blanco. A unique dish combining chorizo and white chocolate. What made me order this dish was my curiosity about having white chocolate with pasta. It did not disappoint. It's indulging and sating, with the kind of sweetness that will want you to dig in for more.
I'm looking forward to trying out more dishes at Cafe Xocolat.

Without reading any reviews nor receiving recommendations, my wife and I visited Cafe Xocolat after attending a mass at Monasterio de Sta. Clara in Katipunan to have a quick breakfast.
(+) Pros
- Place is very easy to locate through waze
- The front parking can accommodate 4-5 cars in front ( I know there’s a parking space at the back— not sure how huge it is though
- The place is laid-back, it would remind you of your grandmother’s 90’s (well-maintained) house
- Food attendants are well knowledgeable about their menu
- Their spicy tuyo pasta (P275) tastes really good!
- Taza de Xocolat (P175) is to die for!! I’m not a sucker of hot chocolates but I wouldn’t mind having multiple cups of this in a day :)
- Their spicy beef flakes (P245) comes with scrambled egg, garlic rice, (grilled) side tomatoes and a hot chocolate sampler— nothing too special about it.
(-) Cons
- Price is average to a bit steep.
- A/C units need to be replaced. There were only 6 of us inside the restaurant but the temperature was pretty warm
- Much to our dismay, That Xocolat (their supposed bestseller in cakes, P125/slice) tastes average.
Verdict: We’d definitely come back to try their other menu. We were very satisfied with most of our orders— this place is a good find!!!

Xocolat offered some of the best chocolate-related drinks and even pastries. I always ordered the grown up xino while my girlfriend got the baby xino because she's not really a coffee person. I was shocked by the news that they were closing because I was just there a month ago. The place was kind of old school but it was a good place to chill, i'm going to miss the oreo cheesecake and blackened cream dory.
All good things must come to end at some point I guess :(.

I legit became very emotional when I knew that Xocolat is closing their Katipunan branch. I feel like my Spiderman senses already knew this since I ended up visiting a week before their closing week. There's still so much to try out from their menu!
(because who can say no to your personal favorites?) Where will I get my Xoco Spiced Chicken or Xocolat Pasta now? (Yes, I know there Greenhills branch still exists but that's faaaaar from Katipunan which is a stone throw away from schools and other establishments)
I hope that they get a space somewhere along the very developed Katipunan! Here's to hoping! Cheers for one helluva run!

Xocolat's Xoco Spiced Chicken and Xocolat Pasta never fails! Super worth your money. Their cakes are heavenly and reasonably-priced. Eyeing to buy an entire cake in the future!
Their wifi is fast too but we were just four when we dined so maybe it's just right. They also have a designated smoking area which is hard to look for nowadays.

I've missed Xocolat ever since they packed up their stall in Eastwood.
Always glad to visit them in Cafe Xocolat, though, as the place is very pretty (delightful, quirky yet homey decoration), more spacious and serves more than desserts.
Churros and chocolate were my go-to orders before, but today we decided to have breakfast. Kids loved their orders of meaty lasagna (yes, it was super meaty and flavorful), blackened dory (served with a delicious potato gratin) and desserts- Banana Toffee Pie and Sugar Free Xoco Glaze that was so rich my youngest could not consume it, totally redefining decadent in sugar free dessert!
I ordered the Beef tapa dish. I was not a fan of the way it was served - the garlic beef pieces were mixed into the rice. I would have loved to tear into those beef pieces myself. As it was, the rice was not evenly coated with the tapa sauce, so there were white spots that were inconsistent in flavor and appearance.
Serving sizes also tend to be a bit on the smaller side, considering the price.
All in all, though, this is a great place for Sunday breakfast with family, or just for a great meal with friends.

If I think of comfort food, I think of Cafe Xocolat.
Who could've thought that you can add chocolate to almost all types of dishes like sandwich, pasta, and even rice meals.. you name it they have it.
Aside from great food daily, the place is comfortable with family and friends.
My recommended dishes are:
1. Xocolat Chicken Pasta
2. Xocolat Pork Belly
3. Xocolat French Toast
4. Herb Chicken Panini
5. Xoco latte
6. Salted Caramel Brownie

Xocolat had unique dishes such as my favorite thereat which is the blackened cream dory that has five spices placed on the fish which made it darkened. After the main dish, you can have the molten flourless cake which you can dip on a chocolate and ice cream for a delicious taste. A nice place to dine with at an enticing atmosphere.

Nice for a weekend lunch when the crowd is not too much.
The pork belly is classic.
Great cakes (try the chocolate cake), and the honey dalandan or lime cucumber are refreshing shakes.

Nice selection of food with old house appeal. Lingered longer because of magazines and newspaper...so relaxing. Had specials and they came with signature desserts...red velvet and chocolate cake slices...yummy and not too sweet!

A residential house that turned into a nice resto. The relaxing ambience is a place to be. Choose where to eat in this place - veranda, living area or at the parking aisle. It feels like mom is cooking for the family while waiting at the veranda and we'll be having a nice conversation. Definetely one of the best place to be. Best time for me is breakfast. Their sardinas pasta is my favorite! Yum yum!

The converted house gave this cafe a great cosy feel, putting me at ease. Their chocolate is delish and their staff delightfully helpful and pleasant. Wish I could come back soon.
