About
Barbara de los Reyes was brought up with a taste for elegance and good food. Her family pioneered the fine dining and catering industry in Olongapo City. She brought this fondness for gourmet cuisine to Manila in the early 1970's. Starting out as a small cafe in Malate, the business soon expanded its operations to catering as well as canteen management. Today, Barbara's is located at the Plaza San Luis complex in Intramuros, Manila. The restaurant's main entrees celebrate traditional Filipino and Spanish recipes but house specialties also include other European-inspired dishes. Barbara's cater to people who enjoy good food served in a grand manner. Today Barbara's is home to Kultura Filipina Dinner Show, a nightly dinner show featuring the best of Filipino cuisine and culture portrayed in dances and song. It has been performing everyday for more than ten years now.

Set in the "centuries-old historic district surrounded by fortifications" the ambience of Barbara's Heritage Restaurant bears a resemblance to Spanish colonial architecture. I felt like travelling back in time when I visited and dined in this exceptionally charming restaurant. The only minus point I can unhappily comment was the very costly but tiny serving of seafood pasta that I had ordered. It was flavoursome; but honestly speaking, the very small serving size and its presentation was not commensurate to its high price. I regret to say _ if this part of your service would not be rectified, it may affect the number of customers who patronize your place. Nevertheless, I'd like to thank Barbara's Heritage Restaurant for my experience.

The food is okay nothing extraordinary, nothing special. Refilling of the buffet food is slow. The resto is ideal only if you are bringing foreign friends who wanted to taste filipino dishes. But for an ordinary filipino who always eats pinoy dishes, this place is not for you. It is a tourist trap

There’s a wide variety of food and the music and dances are also very entertaining. Guests can also try the Tinikling. Many foreigners come to partake of the whole experience. It’s pricey but if you’re a tourist in Manila, it will be worth it. I would say the food does not taste as great but this is an immersive experience so it would be nice to get to do this if you happen to be in Intramuros.

Food isn't that tasty, and serving sizes extremely small. They claim to be good for 4-5 adults but when the food arrived we got shocked. The serving size is extremely small. The only good for 4-5 is the prices. We had to order more and more and leave behind 9.680php bill.
They also serve a buffer that cost 1.5k per head, but at the time we arrived no buffet was served, only ala carte.Table napkin came already dirty before even food was served
First time here is also my last. Never to return here ever. This place isn't about serving customers, it's about greed for money, and lack of quality food. Stay away

The food was quite nice and lots of options to choose from however it was difficult to get through the small area of buffet section. They should fix this. If you want to eat at where all the dancing and singing is then you should definitely book it in advance especially if you are a group or go there earlier than 8PM. We were there later than 8PM and the only free table was at the other side of the restaurant ( another room) The building itself is beautiful and have a very nice courtyard too (not attached to the restaurant). The price isn't cheap but reasonable and doesn't come with any drinks.

I visited this restaurant yesterday evening and what a disappointment! I definitely feel as though I was over-charged for the buffet dinner. I booked this reservation because it looked like it would be a nice experience, as they have a traditional Filipino performance that takes place shortly after 7pm. I also saw on their Trip Advisor page that they were advertising the buffet as 895 pesos or $17 U. S. Dollars (if this price is outdated, they really need to work on making sure it gets updated). The server brought my check over (as requested) after our dinner and I was charged 1633 pesos for the buffet, which is equal to about $30 U.S. I told the server that this seemed like way too much to pay and that I had never paid this amount of money for any dinner in Manila. After all this is an American price for a buffet dinner! They even automatically included the tip into the bill on a check for 2 people. The price was also not what I saw advertised on the restaurant Trip Advisor page. His only comment to me was that the tip was required to be added on all bills. Since when is a tip required on a 2-person table? I’ve not experienced this anywhere else I’ve gone. I additionally expressed that I was not happy because many of the buffet items including the mashed potatoes and the rice were cold. My colleague and I expressed this to him while we were still eating. We were only offered an apology but we were not offered any remedy to our complaint. My colleague was just as disappointed as I was and we were both charged the same amount.
I come back and forth to Manila for business and I will say to anyone considering this restaurant, “Buyer Beware” of this unadvertised buffet price! I find it very curious that you can not find the buffet price listed on their website along with the ala carte menu. Nor is the price listed downstairs in the lobby where the buffet menu is listed but somehow the advertised buffet price is conveniently and yet inaccurately listed on their Trip Advisor page.
Needless to say this was not a great experience for me, especially because the food was cold and I felt like the price was gouged simply because I was not from the Philippines, which is very unfortunate! I will never be returning here again!

There’s a quiet side that’s absolutely beautiful and then there’s the side where they have dancing and a buffet. It was a good opportunity to try a variety of Filipino foods but it felt very touristy - each table was from a different country and they went around and announced them. It was fun though.

I had dinner at Barbara's once. They have 2 areas, one on the ground level and one on the 1st floor where they organize groups dinners with loud live music. It was a quite tuesday night and even if early (6/6.30 pm) I was the last customer. I order the house steak, one the most expansive items on the menu and unlukily was terrible. In the maintime the waiter start to clean the floor with bleech who mixed with the strong sewerage stench that was there too. I had to run away soon as possible. Neverthless to say: a very poor dining experience.

When staying in the Intramurso in Manila I decided to go to the popular "Barbara's Heritage Restaurant" for an ala carte dinner. They also do a buffet service with entertainment each evening. I assumed that the ala carte would be separate to the buffet... It wasn't, it was all in the same dining area. The restaurant was noisy and felt like an all inclusive restaurant in a low grade hotel. I selected the 'Beef Caldereta' from the menu (which said it was good for sharing) and when it came the portion size was tiny and every single piece of beef in the dish was fatty, chewy and gristle. Frankly it was inedible. I asked to speak to the manager and I sent the dish back (something I would never normally do). The manager offered me alternatives but I declined and left, the dish was removed from my bill, so that was good customer service. All in all a VERY disappointing experience and I certainly would not recommend this restaurant or visit it again.

We went to have something cool one afternoon in June, and found a somewhat picturesque place, as if it were decorated for a gypsy wedding reception.
There was live music, a trio of grandparents playing string instruments, who did not have rhythm in their veins.
The drinks were not cold enough and they kindly offered us dinner, to which we said no.
Dinner consisted of a self-service buffet, without much variety…
Very high average age of diners.

The buffet spread serve local food, but as it doesn't comes with write-up on the ingredients, it might not be tourist friendly for those that have diet restrictions.
Their performance lasted about an hour with very high energy throughout. There is even audience participation and photo taking with the performance at the end.
Buffet dinner with performance: 1500p
Performance only: 500p

At first instance it looks cute, but once inside it’s a real drama. Chaos and amateurism. Ordering takes time and serving takes ages. My dishes were all cold at serving. The piña colada was awful. All the used dishes were dropped just beside me, see pictures. This heritage is absolutely exaggerated. Advise: Walk inside the premises, take nice pictures during the day or evening, and get out!
Verdict: NO GO!
Price: west European rates!

The restaurant itself is very beautiful and felt very historic. All the staff were welcoming and made me feel very at home. My mango smoothie was amazing and I really appreciated the free water. However, the food wasn’t really worth the price (good portion, just a very average taste) and it wasn’t very hot. Still, I’d recommend a visit for a drink as it was a lovely place.

We ordered alacart. While prices are higher than normal for the type of food, food was tasty, presented well for Filipino food and came out in a timely manner. Service was very attentive. Inside of the restaurant is done up in classic Spanish Filipino style. Very nice place to go for lunch if you are in the area, especially if you're looking for a place to take people from out of the country.
