Delicious steak. We followed Monocle guide’s recommendation and were not disappointed. The tasting menu was perfect - small dishes of seared octopus, cold beef with mustard dipping leading to the main event ...perfectly cooked fillet steak. Sitting at the counter watching the chefs prepare added...to the dining experience. One of the best meals I’ve had in Japan. Around $180 for 2 people - 4 course tasting with sake and beer - good value.More

We went there with our baby and were arranged to sit in a room shared with other customers at the back of the restaurant. The atmosphere for counter seat may be better given you can see the cooking but table seat is perfect for us...with a baby and a stroller. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Food is delicious - steak is perfectly cooked - so tender! Even the salad is impressive! Highly recommend to people who want nice beef in Kyoto!More

We each had a slightly different set menu here and every course was delicious- one of those few experiences where I did take pictures of the food and send on to some friends. The beef was excellent, as were the soups, salads, other courses and...there were delicious desserts and tea or coffee to finish off. The staff were great and there was a good selection of drinks and wine. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Kyoto, the quality and service were worth the price, and probably best to book as it is popular.More

We found this restaurant while walking around Kyoto and it was a delicious meal. We came later in the evening, so we were able to get a table without a reservation. Definitely need to be a red meat eater, as almost every dish had to...do with wagyu beef. And they definitely know how to cook wagyu beef. They were also able to accommodate my gluten allergy (I have celiac disease). They even had Tamari!More

Great Teppanyaki experience. Would recommend skipping the set menu and choosing from the A La carte for better value. Particularly recommended is the marinated salmon, the ceasar salad, onion soup, and of course the Wagyu beef. We were only in Kyoto 2 nights but went...back again after the first night because we enjoyed it so much.More

Excellent food well worth the price. The standard menu offers a multicourse meal including roast, brisket, steak or sirloin; as well as an appetiser of thinly sliced chicken and a dessert of your choice. Got a fine selection of wine to go with the meat,...although I recommend avoiding the beer (especially the local craft, which just about compares to a European lager reserved for export only) as well as some of the house wines (the shiraz is nice). Book a table in advance because the place is usually crowded. The staff is very friendly and does speak English.More

Wow.. Just wow. Expensive? Definitely, but well worth the money if you wanna taste something amazing. I got the Wagyu sandwich and it honestly blew me away. Not a huge serving so you will have to savour every bite. Mmmmm!

Just got a wagyu sando to go. For 5.000 yens. Meat was tender. Condiments were ok. Nothing to write hom about though. I don't think Japanese people would that but in any other settings, I would have seriously doubted what we were served was indeed...wagyu meat. And this is not the first or second or third or tenth time I am eating wagyu. Probably the worst experience we had with wagyu meat. What should have been telling is that the restaurant was filled EXCLUSIVELY with foreigners.More

We went for the steak of course but ended up ordering some salad and salmon entree as well. Everything was incredible. I could not believe how good a simple salad or salmon sashimi could be. Steak was of course great. We had the one with...teriyaki sauce but the plain one looked good as well, perhaps the way to go so you can enjoy the full flavour. Something else to note, we arrived fairly late (at about 9, note they close at 9:30) and still welcomed us and prepared the most amazing meal. A go to place in Kyoto.More

Cozy setting, great meal. The set menus include plenty of delicious food, mostly meat but they have fish options. Meat comes with salad and vegetables sides, sauces, pickles, rice...
