We ate here for we were hungry after sight seeing all day. We ordered a Tonkatsu with ebi fry set and ebi fry set with croquet. We were seated on a big common table where some people ate too. Anyway, the foods were good, the...More

We went to this restaurant last summer. So tasty and you can enjoy Japanese traditional (or oriental?)atmosphere there! I recommend you to go to Katsukura "main store" because the interior is perfect. Sorry I forgot to take pics tho...

The tonkatsu was very good. The price is high for a single portion and also for a beer. We pay 4700 yen. But Too bad for the very rude waiter who ruined every things. Stay away

Visited the restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews. Yes it looked authentic hidden down a narrow walkway amongst a main shopping thoroughfare. Was shown in by the waiter (may have been the same as the previous reviews) who was the only male in the vicinity. Food...More

Decided to stop by here after seeing the mostly positive reviews on TA. Was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant itself, felt like a nice authentic space. We sat, and the waiter started to take our order, for which my partner was unsure what to order...More

Katsu was decent, perhaps a bit greasy but still ok. However the cashier, a guy with short hair and skinny, treated everyone coming to the store badly as if he was racist. Im an Asian and as I entered the store, he asked us if...More

You must come with a big appetite. The menu is limited. Lots of fried pork options. Servings are big. I thought the fried pork was nice, crushed sesane sauce was good however I felt like it was a dressed up 'parmi'. You'll know what I...More

We ate lunch here one day. The staff were very helpful in accomodating us and they are child friendly which helps as we were travelling with a toddler. The food is tasty and well priced. I would recommend this as a good lunch option.

Shinkyogoku Shopping District
Those who delight in shopping and cuisine will find
themselves at home in Shinkyogoku. Lauded and visited
by locals for its Nishiki Market, where baskets of
fragrant spices, dried fish, and just-fried foods are
piled high along the snaking streets of its enclosed
outdoor shopping spaces, Shinkyogoku is not only a hub
for fresh fare, but also for fast fashion fixes.

Sometimes they have fried vegetable dishes, sometime fried yuba (tofu curd), seasonally fried oysters and croquettes (fried mashed potato balls - sometimes with meat). But it's not a restaurant that caters specifically to... More
