Serves the freshest variety of seafood and local delicacies in a refreshing seafront setting. Servings a plenty, staff are very warm and accommodating and the rest of the space is relaxing.
This restaurant is a local favorite, but I do not like that all their food is terribly overcooked. Standard practice is to overcook the food, leave it on the counter, and serve it room temperature... but that is Filipino cooking, so the locals like it....The food is mediocre, the service is terribly slow. *The good - The ambience is great, and it has a nice view of the (mediocre) beach. It is a good place to hang out, enjoy the view, and have a few drinks. I would just rather eat somewhere else.More
The habit of over-cooking the flavour and nutrition out of their menu items = bad news! I'm glad to see that others felt the same because, no matter how ignorant people rate it, it's to be tested against world-wide seafood places. And this one is...a stinker. The deep-friend chicken totally dried out and tasteless. Salty disgusting 'soup.' Steamed kangkong that was so tough and chewy, so tasteless, tooth-sticker crap. The other dishes are just as dreadful, and look horrid as well. Hard to find a good seafood resto in the city area: at least one poisoned us; another was oily and tasteless; another with torn old menus; another thick sticky sauces that get all over the place and doesn't adequately hide the horrible overcooked mess that it was. Prices vary among the most 'famous,' but as a group best steer yourself up to Roxas City to their seaside villa area, and order really really pleasant seafood, from the fish to the angel wings to the.... Skip this mess!More
Food and service was excellent! A must try when in Iloilo. They followed safety protocols which made us feel safe.
We stopped here here for lunch during our day trip of Iloilo City and vicinities, There are tanks where live fish and other sea foods are kept. The staff cook them per customers’ instructions. We ordered grilled and sinigang fiish plus a veg dish with...coconut milk Total of our meals and drinks is 980 pesos plus tips. Foods were delicious and service was friendly and efficient!More
If you're looking for a good restaurant to eat in Iloilo, try Breakthrough. It's a great seaside resto that offers delicious seafoods at an affordable price.
We had a great lunch at Breakthrough yesterday together with friends and family. The sisig and the Dinuguan were the best that we ate during our stay in Iloilo and the fish dishes were enjoyed by everyone at our table. I should also mention that...the lechon was great. A very pleasant front of house team looked after our every need and we truly relaxed as we looked out to the sea across the very clean beach in front of the restaurant. We booked in advance given it was the last day of the Dinagyang Festival and the restaurant was justifiably packed by the time we left. Highly recommended!More
The following were observed during our visit: 1) Food serving are NOT SO GREAT & Price are Not so Reasonable 2) Staff are accommodating & courteous 3) Facility are a bit old but still you will appreciate the sea breeze
Food was great, service was great, everything was great. A good place to have meals when you are in Iloilo.
The view of the sea here is stunning and the place is perfect. Open air and very cozy, this restaurant serves seafood for cooking and some ready prepared dishes. The food tastes great and I really enjoyed it. This was my second time after several...years and I enjoyed it as much as I did before.More
The Security Guard is very rude! He manages the parking area as if he owns the place. He shouts at the customers. Maybe he's on drugs. It destroys the ambiance!
During our last visit to Iloilo in 2018 we enjoyed lunch at Tatoy's so this visit we were keen to try Breakthrough, just down the road in Arevalo. We arrived for lunch quite late so they weren't at all busy. We got a nice table...overlooking the beach (which isn't actually very nice!), and ordered a few dishes. We had some delicious kilawin, one of our favorite dishes, and then ordered some 'pangat' which is a bit like liaing, some crab fried rice and some butter poached prawns which we weren't very keen on. It would be nice if they did some grilled prawns or salt and pepper prawns- the ones we had were a bit tough and tasteless. Anyway, we enjoyed our meal at Breakthrough very much. The restaurant probably needs a bit of a makeover as it looks as it it hasn't been redecorated for rather a long time. The toilets were not very nice so they definitely should be renovated asap. The staff were pleasant and friendly. All in all , a very nice late lunch at Breakthrough.More
Fresh seafood but the service leaves much to be desired. The typical Filipino hospitality and attention is missing here. The staff are generally unhappy and service was very slow. Food was generally above average but for good seafood, other restaurants may provide better value and...service in Iloilo. This restaurant needs a breakthrough in service mindset.More
My girlfriend and I went here last night for dinner. We ordered "Lucos Sugba"(grilled stuffed squid), "sinigang na tanigue", crab meat sisig and aligue rice. You may be surprised we ordered a lot but the price shocked us more. All that sumptuous treat for just...997 pesos.. To think that meal can suffice the cravings of 4-5 persons makes this restaurant worth the visit.More
