Authentic Vietnamese Resto in Iloilo!

If you want to eat in an authentic Vietnamese resto in Iloilo, you can't go wrong with Troi Oi. Everything is great, from the food to the ambience. The resto is not far fr. Diversion 21 Hotel where we stayed.

Authentic is an understatement. It's simply THE BEST!!!

Had lunch at Trois on the 27th of July 2022. Just walked in and ordered our fav Vietnamese food. Food came, we gobbled up and was very surprised. Absolutely delicious!! From all my travels abroad I havent been served prawn rolls with so much fresh lettuce. The noodles was al dente and yummy with lots of veggies too. Just what the doctors ordered after our no veggies meals on previous days. Next day came and we met a couple introduced to us by a friend, more surprises await. The couple is the owner of Troi Oi!!! This time we were invited to dine and be serenaded by most talented local singers. What an experience!!! Their voices were heavenly. Gave me goose pimples all night. Food wise...well you have to go to Iloilo City to tryit. Then you will know what Im talking about. Oh and by the way, I have traveled to Vietnam and beyond and has eaten in different Vietnamese restaurants. Some are very good (Hoi An), some are mediocre, some are passable. Troi Oi...is heavenly!! Kudos to the owner, Grace & Les for bringing such wonderful Vietnamese experience in Iloilo. I hope someday, we will find Troi Oi part 2 in Manila too. Oh and did you know, they grow their own veggies. What a delight!! I couldn't recommend this place high enough...GO!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!

At one time, an excellent departure from the standard fare in the city, but...

After the Vietnamese chef left in the spring of 2019, I noticed a distinct drop in the quality of fare at Troi. I've had excellent pho and many other dishes - chicken, pork, beef - dishes elsewhere in Asia and Canada, and have a fairly clear way of distinguishing the best from the mediocre? Well, after having returned to Iloilo and several more visits to Troi until the autumn of 2019, the difference from 2018 is startling. Now this is opinion of my wife and I only, but, contrary to the ads, the pho lacks flavour and snap. It's so similar to most Viet restaurants usually established by Vietnamese owners in western Canada as to truly be a let-down. As well, the rice and chicken dishes are okay, but nothing to write at length about anymore. Only the seared catfish is delicious now, but we don't go to a place to only do one dish. As well, the portions tend to be small. The bland-tasting pho is in a small bowl given the prices for it - which have risen in the past year considerably - but when the flavours are missing, well... The serving crew are as usual a lovely group, but patrons do go to any establishment for the food, do we not? Sorry to have to seriously downgrade Troi, but it's no longer a standout in the city nor in the country, as it once was! As I do a decent pho at home with broth brewing time of 36 hours, likely we will not go back... Too bad, but we've experienced this kind of thing before: when the cook or chef leaves, the food soon diminishes in quality, sometimes in quantity, and prices may go up. The balance at Troi no longer attracts us. Oh well... buhay.

We are sorry that you no longer enjoy the restaurant . Our two senior chefs were trained for 2 1/2 years by Chef Koro before he decided to move to study in Australia . We will keep an eye open for you and a table free for when you seek more than the Iloilo standard fare and you will always be made welcome.

A lovely late lunch on the balcony of Troi Oi.

I had read really good reviews of Troi Oi so we decided to go for a late lunch last week during our stay in Iloilo at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel. The restaurant is located at The Boardwalk near the river and is an easy 10 minute taxi ride from the Marriott. The restaurant is on two levels and we opted to eat on the small balcony at the back of the second floor restaurant. From the balcony you get some views of the river nearby and it is a lovely space with fans to keep you cool. The decor of the restaurant is lovely with some wonderful Vietnamese artwork and artifacts. The couple who own the restaurant (whose name in Vietnamese means OMG!) are Scottish and Filipina but who lived in Vietnam for quite a few years. We ordered some delicious deep-fried spring rolls and a wonderful cabbage salad with pork. We were delighted with our lunch which was delicious and with the welcome of the staff at Troi Oi which was very warm and friendly. We would definitely recommend a meal at Troi Oi. We will definitely go back next visit to Iloilo!

Cute restaurant with yummy food!

We've dined here three times, and everything we've tried has been delicious. The atmosphere is nice, the staff very helpful and prompt to serve. Great family dinning place, there's something for everyone!

Best in Iloilo

Our drinks and food wss served in a timely mannor by a staff that was coureous and attentive. The taste is wonderful. There was a live duo playing tasteful music that wasnt too loud. We could talk while they were playing. All in all a wonderful experience. You've got to try it!!

Great food and even greater service!

I’ve been to Troi Oi a few times whenever I’m back in Iloilo for a vacation. It’s slowly becoming a family favourite because of the delicious food, great ambience and friendly service. I was there again tonight with my family and while the food was good as usual, I really have to commend them more for their amazing service! Our server I think was Aiko, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations without sounding pushy or patronizing. Everyone was hungry so I was rushing through the menu but she was quick to advice us if an item contains shrimps and peanuts. Which I really appreciated because I almost forgot that my 12 year old niece has both shrimp and peanut allergies! And she was also quick to inform us that we can have the peanut free and/or shrimp free versions of the said dishes! My two year old nephew has some special needs and is a very picky eater but Aiko and the rest of the staff didn’t make us feel that we are causing them any inconvenience because we were making too many requests and also creating quite a mess. I think management should know that they have hired some gems there in their restaurant. The pho tasted good but the spicy soup was not as spicy as I wanted but it was okay. I love the pomelo salad. We had both versions with shrimp and peanuts and without. I think it tasted better with the shrimps and peanuts. The salad rolls were just okay. It was just a bit too dry, otherwise it would have tasted better. The kids loved the chicken thighs. My father and my sister loved the beef stew. I wasn’t a fan although I admit it was perfectly tender and okay texture wise. The vermicelli noodles was another favourite. I wanted to try the sticky rice with mango but I was too full, I had to skip dessert. My nephew who’s a very picky eater and would only eat soup, rice and crackers, did actually eat some beef from the pho and the vermicelli dish. So I guess that’s a good sign. I know there’s not much options for Vietnamese dishes in Iloilo so if you’re craving for Vietnamese then Troi Oi is really one of the few places you can go. But tonight’s service was really one of the best I’ve experienced in Iloilo so far. Thank you!

The place upon entering give you a feeling of vietnam. Food is great! This is my go to for comfort food. I may say food is healthier here, their soups doesn’t have oit floating, ban mi is must. Staff are very accommodating.

Nice food

My family tried this restaurant as I miss Asian food.. The restaurant was good, really looks Asian style with Asian decorations. Staff wears their local dress that adds more beauty to the restaurant.. They are friendly and helpful.. Some they just need to smile. Food was good and very tasty with unique table preparations.

Many thanks for your review, the decor were indeed imported from Viet Nam as are many of the ingredients we use.The dress is an áo dài which is ubiquitous in Vietnam so we are happy you like it ! God Bless

Four Stars For Troi Oi!

Whenever I happen to have the time and am visiting from Bacolod, I will stop in here for lunch or dinner. The food is excellent, the service is exemplary, and the chef came out and suggested three or four dishes to try when we were to visit Hanoi a few months along. No complaints about service or food--consistently good!
