Don't be fooled by the looks od this place. It looks classyand you will be intimidated that the prices of their food might be expensive. It's not! Food here are surprisingly affordable and priced reasonably... even cheaper than expected. They have the best batchoy and molo in town. Their chicken binakol is also delicious and the service is unexpectedly big. Their salads are awesome too!!!

Comfort in a Bowl of Batchoy

I never really had a proper introduction to the Batchoy dish, as I’ve always found it too greasy and fatty for my liking. Enter: 21 Restaurant, which completely changed my perspective on this famous local noodle dish. It’s clear to see how it unapologetically loads up on the unhealthy stuff, seeing as it’s generously topped with crunchy chicharon pieces; but there’s something about how 21’s Batchoy magically strikes the balance between light and rich; that despite knowing that what you’re eating will end up leading to an eventual cardiac arrest, it’s a complete delight to eat. The soup is loaded with umami flavor; yet won’t leave you thirsty. The chicharon pieces are soaked in the soup, yet remain crunchy throughout. It’s objectively unhealthy, yet you don’t feel your arteries being clogged up. It was after I wiped my entire bowl clean that I mentioned to Dani how I would love to retire in Bacolod. I found my ultimate comfort food in a bowl of noodles, it was as simple as that.

Great family restaurant Here, I would say you are in the upper range of good and delicious food The service is supremely professional The food here is very good The children particularly enjoyed themselves here Ice cream and cakes in many varieties We had crispy pata, fried prawns, fried fish, pepper steak and cheese stick Much good

Very disappointing

My wife and I were here 2 years ago, were very impressed, and I wrote a review to reflect that. My how things have changed. Last night was a far cry from that visit 2 years ago. Their wine list was much smaller this time and, as usual, they did not have the wine that I asked for. The waiter brought another, which I said was OK, but when he brought the bottle for tasting, I could see that the cork had been broken. Not only that, but there were bits of cork in the wine. The waiter apologized and brought me another bottle, which he and another waiter tried to open together. Again they broke the cork, although at least nothing got into the wine this time. The whole problem was handled very unprofessionally, with the two of them laughing at their difficulty. Then there was the food. I ordered lamb curry, which, in the past, had been very good. The waiter returned from the kitchen to inform me that they had not been able to get lamb for the last couple of months. Two months? Why not indicate on the menu that it was unavailable? The waiter then suggested the roast beef, to which I agreed. He returned from the kitchen to tell me that there was no more roast beef. Please! Keep your staff better informed! Finally I had the tenderloin and my wife the pepper steak. Both were OK, but the gravy was too salty. Sorry, but 21 has a LONG way to go to get back to the top of our list.

Everything was very salty.

I ordered bat hot and it was loaded, overwhelmed, with liver. I could smell the liver. I gave it away to someone who loves liver. I ordered boneless bangrus and it was very salty. I tried the fried mozzarella, again very salty, spaghetti- very salty, Ti ila soup very salty. Are restaurants trying to kill people with HTN, stroke and kidney disease?

Super Batchoy is a fine dining restaurant

I was told by two reliable sources that this is the best place to get batchoy, and that reservations have to be made in advance to get a table. For Batchoy! The batchoy was indeed good, and the white linen-covered tables deserved to be reserved in advance, but in the end, it was, well, batchoy.

Best Batchoy!!

Place can be intimidating from the outside as it looks like a formal restaurant however it is just a casual restaurant so dont be scared! Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We ordered the special batchoy with egg which was very good. A must try when you visit Bacolod!

I heard about the restaurant to be when in Bacolod. I ordered their Special Bachoy, Fresh lumpia and Mushroom Cheese Burger. The place isn’t that expensive considering that the ambiance was great. I love the food, I love the place. I definitely would want to come back.

The food here was better than ever. The batchoy was to die for as always. Everything we ordered was good... from the caesar salad to the chicken skin, salpicao etc. To top it all the price was very reasonable. Will definitely be back when in Bacolod

This is one of the most popular restaurants in Bacolod. They have great food, great ambiance and reasonable prices. Batchoy is one of the more popular dishes here. So far I haven't had anything I didn't like.

This place is a very good place to eat hearty meals. The place is clean and the ambiance is top the notch but the prices are reasonable and some are even cheap compared to other places. Love the molo and their batchoy. Go ahead and try it!

Disappointing Lunch

Whenever we're in Bacolod, 21 is always on our list of restaurants to dine in. Recently, we had our family lunch here and I was shocked to see their tables with visibly wrinkly tablecloths with dirts and even holes on them! My friends were right. What kind of Mgt allows this in a restaurant that advertises itself as fine dining. The KBL was bland and served in a huge bowl of soup with just about 6 tiny pieces of pork. What happened to this restaurant? This was once one of Bacolod's pride but it has greatly deteriorated. Could be under a different Mgt/Owner. The standards has really gone down to nothing. It's sad. Not coming back.
