My friend and I, both vegetarians, chanced upon this place while looking for restaurants to visit in Cebu. Credits to my friend for finding this restaurant. We totally loved the food. I am still dreaming of the light and tasty focaccia, the pickled eggplants and...mushrooms and the pasta. Sadly we were in Cebu city for less than a day, else would have had multiple meals here. Highly recommend!More

It was expensive, with many appetizers around 600 pesos. I tried to save money with an insalata mista appetizer, which was supposedly a vegetable salad. It was just lettuce, tomato, onion, and carrot, for 250 pesos. I felt cheated. My main, about 550 pesos, was...a nice gorgonzola pasta. To get enough to eat, I also tried a shrimp soup for 150 pesos. It didn’t taste fresh to me, so I asked them to take it away. At least they took it off the bill. We also got a calamansi juice. It came to 968 pesos. The server didn’t understand us at times. The setting was nice: uncrowded and quiet. Overall, I felt like the restaurant was overpriced, with the salad bordering on a scam, and it was a mistake to go there.More

Some pretty harsh reviews here. I was invited by friends and the place is good. The food is fresh and tastey. The prices are good and the owner Paulo is a friendly guy doing his best. I am european and many visits too Italy done....Mainly in Italy for food.... The food retained its Italian flavors. No mixing Pinoy flavors of sugar and cheap oils. ... Give it a try I sayMore

Since my previous review was removed and it was so lengthy and detailed that I am quite upset with Tripadvisor who allowed establishments like these to do it, I'll go straight to the point. They cheat at you: they say they have credit card machine...temporary not working, but it's a strategy to just get cash. Why? They don't give you an official receipt, but just a waiter's order silp. Genius!! Quality of food: indecent. Service and Staff: ask them the definition of service and quality for them and you will just see blank faces. No need to say anything else. The owner is often there, but he's like not being there. Just sitting, playing with the phone, not even greeting customers coming in or leaving; a great role model of a professional entrepreneur! If also this review is removed, then Tripadvisor will prove and show to be not an impartial tool for objective reviews of actual experiences.More

Had planned visiting this restaurant during our Cebu trip. And must say wasnt disappointed. The mushroom pizza (Ai Funghi Freschi) was great overall although the mushroom lacked a bit of flavor. The corn soup was nice. The Penne Arrabiatta was superb, full of true flavor...and really one of the best we have had. Great place for vegeterians clearly. The Tiramisu was great too but unfortunately they didnt have coffee...reason quoted was that the coffee machine was busted. I am not sure if other arrangements couldve been made...afterall one would never miss having some nice coffee at an Italian restaurant. The service was prompt however somehow seemed very serious. The place the restaurant is situated is nice and quiet. But I must say the interiors can be kept simple and bright...somehow it looked too over the top. I liked the overall experience and its definitely worth the visit.More

I gave myself two different opportunities to try this place out and I personally believe its lost itself catering to the local taste buds. The authenticity of it being true Italian is definitely not in the taste of the food anymore. In face, I was...somewhat unwell both times the next day after a meal. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I don't agree at all with the other reviews of this place being authentic Italian food. Its been modified to cater for local taste buds.More

I am proudly Italian and I like trying Italian food in the world most remote corners... to see how my Paesani are transforming the local ingredients into our charming and tasteful recipes... Not a simple exercise I admit, because Italian food is not only the...sum of delightful ingredients, but they need a soul to become perfect spaghetti allo scoglio, lasagne, filetto al pepe, pizza Margherita, tiramisù, and hundreds more... At "La Buona Forchetta" I have found the ingredients and the soul, further to the excellent company of Paolo, a True Proud Italian living in Cebu for over 30 years... one word:CONGRATULATIONS PAOLO! I should write all this in Italian, but I choose English to spread my thoughts to the largest possible TripAdvisor community. Try spaghetti ai frutti di mare, they are a dream and really Italian!!! Complimenti Paolo you deserve them!More

I read a lot of reviews of this restaurant and generally dismissed the reviews written by Filipino as they really don't know what Italian food should taste like. Even then, the restaurant had good reviews - so I decided to go there. It was a...Monday night and my partner and I were the only customers. We ordered the Fettuccini and the Scallopini with Truffle sauce and a side salad. The Fettuccini wasn't too bad. Nice flavour, but drowned in a flavourless cream - just some all-purpose cream bought from the local Sari store no doubt. The Scallopine was some indistinguishable, tasteless meat, saturated in olive oil with some black paste smeared on top. The salad comprised a leaf of Iceberg lettuce, three rings of onion and half a local tomato - completely pathetic - and to add insult to injury, the waitress presented me with a bottle of local vinegar - suka, claiming that it was Balsamic. I know Balsamic and that wasn't Balsamic. While we were there the owner came into the restaurant, completely ignored us and sat behind the counter looking at his cell phone. If you are looking for authentic Italian food - don't waste your time, money or effort going there. Definitely NOT recommended. EDIT: After posting the above review the owner PMed me and sarcastically suggested that he should have cooked me Kangaroo or Cocodile instead. Sadly, he would not be capable of preparing either dish. So not only is he a poor 'chef' but has a bad attitude as well.More

We had dinner in La Bouna restaurant last Friday! It is a little "way out" to find this place! The parking is a bit hectic as they share it w/ other (business shops, etc.) In the restaurant, decorated with lots of paintings, Italian style. The...ambience is really Italian, airy and pleasant! My family and friends had typical spaghetti, calzone, and salads, the food was very good(al dente spaghetti to perfection!). The portions are large, we were so full, that only one of us had dessert- Tiramiso, and coffees. We enjoyed our meals, we would be back again! Price is a bit high, but it is well worth it! Highly recommended!More

Slightly out of the way but easy to find via google maps or other app.Nice relaxing ambience inside. Quite expensive in comparison to traditional Filipino eateries - but portions are large & pizzas with nice thin crust as it should be. One downside - no...Frascati Italian wine available ! Will return in the future to try other dishes.More

This is a great little small run restaurant with really friendly service and good food. The restaurant in down a little alley and in the back of a large parking lot for some other business. However once you find it the place is decorated with...a kitschy Italian style. The food was good. We had an appetizer and split two entrees and enjoyed our meal. The price were a little high for Cebu but all in all it was a good place if you want something other than local food.More
