I saw this in a great online review and was excited to try this during our trip to LU. We went there at around 12nn and there weren't any customers inside. I think it was the manager who greeted us and readily assisted us to...our table. I asked her for the best seller and they said it was their Lola's Chuletas, "their version of steak" with a side of poqui poqui, to which i gladly obliged and placed two orders. While waiting, we also ordered mushroom chicharon for appetizer. IT WAS GREAT! It's a definite must try. I wish it came in packs they can sell. Then our order arrived. When it came to our table, it was a nice chunk of meat. We were hungry from a long trip and we quickly dug in. However, the meat was rather disappointing. It was actually just grilled pork with little flavor. Mine was okay, something I could have done at home. It wasn't hard to chew. My boyfriend said that his tasted burnt. Maybe we'd be better off tasting their pork barbecue, which is another famous dish. Service wise it was great, as for the food, I just hope we get to try their other dishes.More
We had our lunch here after our trip to San Juan since this is one of the recommended restaurants when we searched the net.
The service was terrible. We waited for so long and no one was coming to ask for our orders. One of...us had to go to the counter to ask one of the staffs to get out orders. After waiting for almost one hour, our food came and we were disappointed as those that we ordered for sharing were in small portions. In the menu, they claimed that it is good for 2-3 persons. The pinakbet with shrimp does not have any shrimp. The papaitan is not mapait. They also didn't bother to give us utensils and our drinks came when we were already done eating. We will be going back to la union but definitely not in this restaurant.More
they didnt clean the tables
and they give the food without spoon and forks
They dont give us our menu or any suggestion for there best foods nothing as in nothing
100% not recomendable place to eat
The foods are very well-prepared and meticulous cut and cook to perfection... They have some side condiments that really compliments the food like the Bbq and Bagnet. Overall we enjoyed our dinner here.. for those who drive there is a carpark space nearby that charges...P25 (minimum)More
We went to La Union on a Sunday of a long weekend so we really had a hard time finding a resto which was not full. Fortunately, Waze directed us to L.U. BBQ, just along the public market. We ordered L.U. BBQ platter...which is good for 4 persons. This is the best choice for a group as its consisted of the resto's specialties, mix of chicken and pork barbecues plus grilled pork belly with special sauces and side dishes. The pork barbecue was a standout, very tasty and tender and perfectly complemented by the side dish "poqui poqui". Their version of "pinakbet" was noticeable because the vegetables were sliced bite size and had a taste of ginger. And of course, who would not notice their fresh fruit shakes? Aside from the usual fruits, they offer chico, kamias and honey dew. It's the best way to cap a hearty meal.More
We were hungry from surfing and looking for somewhere to eat. The location isn’t hard to find. They have a good menu, with lots to choose from, but we decided to order with the BBQ PLATTER.
The food was just average, nothing much special. Some...parts of meat were too burned. The prices are ok with the quality.More
We decided to give this resto a second chance after being very disappointed when it opened and we were happy to find a large improvement. The honey chicken was well cooked and came with a sweet BBQ sauce and coleslaw. The lemon garlic shrimp with...hotdog was nice but not as nice as some shrimp I have had recently. Shakes were really nice and creamy and chilled. The grilled tapa was a little overdone but ok. Poqui poqui was light and sharp and refreshing
Location is very convenient in a city centre with few eating options however the shrimp is a little pricey whilst the other prices are goodMore
