A Must When in La Union

I have high praises for this place. Amare serves one of the best pizzas and pastas i’ve every tried. We were a group of 10 (8 adults and 2 kids) and everyone even my 1 year old enjoyed the food. We ordered 4 different pizzas and 2 kinds of pasta and everything was delicious. They even made my kid help make our pizza. I highly recommend Alvin’s Pizza (sorry not in the photo) since we ate it before we were able to take a photo and the 3 cheese pizza. For pasta, the Ala Gamberi was superb. Aside from the food, the service was top notch. As soon as we entered the resto (without prior reservations) the waiter already asked us where we want the high chair to be set up for my kids. While eating the manager/owner approch our table to ask how everything was. She even stayed a couple of minutes to chat to my family. This is always a plus for me. Best dining expierence i had during our vacation in La Union. Also, i think my kid has a big crush on the owner/manager since he gave her a big kiss before we left

Scrumptious Lunch by the Sea

Loved the breeze of the ocean as we enjoyed their brick oven woodfire-cooked ribs and chicken skewers! The ribs were cooked to perfection and so delicious with the perfectly cooked vegetables and equally flavorful yogurt and herb dip! Bolognese was good too. Hige serving of classic caesar salad. Mint tea the children didn't care for too much but will surely return to have some of the woodfire yumminess once again. ;)

I was thrilled that they accommodated my request — table for one, and sunset view. So 10/10 for customer service!! As for the food, I ordered supperoni pizza + extra cheddar cheese, chicken skewers, and a bottle of red wine. Too bad they didn’t have cabernet (go-to!) but remaining options were decent. I was never a pizza person, but a friend urged me to try it! All I can say is that I’ve never eaten that much pizza in my entire life 💯 Will probably go back here on my next visit to try their pasta and other pizza flavors!✨

A real family experience

To me this is the best place in the city for a family meal. There is plenty of space, the location has parking, the staff are so kid friendly and the foodmis great. The pizza chef took time out to let my kids make their own pizza including throwing and spinning the dough which made it all the more special. Pizza is from proper wood fired oven, and i cooled to perfection. The salads contain authentic italian cheese, the little touches are authentically italian and pasta is cooked al dente and not soggy! Belissima!!

Unexpected delight!

By far the best menu and restaurant I have seen outside Manila. Steak was imported from US... medium rare and awesome. Pizza was best I have had here (2+ years, friend 7+ years). Ribs were very tender and spectacular. 5+ stars!

Pretty good Italian

It’s not mind blowing but pretty good Italian. Ate at most of the restaurants recommended on the TripAdvisor list and this was the most value for money. The 6 cheese pizza was my favorite and cacio e Pepe was fine

Great view with good food

We’ve tried Amare’s other branches in Baguio and Sta Rosa but this one is the best because of the view! Glad we went out of our way to see this. Yummy 6 cheese and pepperoni pizza! Hope to go back during sunset!

Though the flavor of the food was good, the texture was terrible. Pizza crust was limp and soggy. Pasta was dry. Not up to par with Baguio location.

A Gem of a Restaurant in La Union...................Amare La Cucina...within the hotel grounds

After a meeting with the Regional Director of DILG in San Fernando, La Union, we searched for a good restaurant. My surfer son recommended Amare La Cucina in Urbiztondo, San Juan. It was a 20 minutes drive out but I guess we wanted to discover something new. We found the quaint restaurant and sat ourselves in the main dining hall. The arched windows opened into the well landscaped grounds and we even have a view of the sea. A tree lined beach can be seen and the swaying palm trees emoted peace and calm despite the rains and the winds. After we ordered our lunch, I decided to get a personal tour of the restaurant and found myself meeting the owners and discovering the adjacent hotel. The architectural flair of the restaurant and hotel reminded me of Greece - La Joya and Oia. All are white walls and blue doors and windows. The food came and more pleasant surprises --- the pizza was excellent and the spare ribs were superb.My assistant decided to get the chicken skewers. After an hour we departed quite happy with the delicious meal and the nice ambiance of the restaurant and the grounds.

Their pizzas are superb! Top picks are Alvin's pizza with pesto and bacon, also the gorgonzola pizza with prosciutto, arugula, and honey. The ribs and pasta dishes are great also. The space is bright and airy, perfect for spending a whole afternoon gorging on pizza. Definitely coming back for the pizza. Did i mention the pizzas are great? GO. HERE. EAT. PIZZA.

Please stop calling yourself an Italian restaurant

Went there to try there Pizza. This is nothing Italian. The Mozzarela cheese had zero taste on our Pizza. We were watching the guy opening the Pizza and we could tell that the dough was very hard like fresh from the fridge. While eating the food we could notice a sweet taste to the dough. We developed high acidity and stomach ache after eating the pizza which is a sign that the didn't prove long enough. This was same poor as up in Baguio. Good ambiance, I like the view and the looks of the oven. People there were very friendly and we did receive a good service. Ambiance and service 5 stars Food and stomach ache a 1 Star since there is no zero. We won't be back, that's for sure

Dear Customer, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn't match your expectation. However, I would just like to clarify that our dough is made fresh and never frozen. It is made in batches, stored in the fridge but never in the freezer. We actually let our customers experience making their own pizza, from stretching to tossing, to putting the toppings and placing it inside the oven (with the assistance of our staff of course). We encourage you to try this next time, so you can have a feel of the dough. We also do not add refined sugar or any kind of sugar to our dough. We are glad you enjoyed the service and the ambiance.
