During our recent 3 weeks vacation in Manila, January 2020, my wife & I stayed at the Discovery Suites Hotel in ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The hotel restaurant is on the 22nd floor and is called 22 Prime Restaurant. We had a booked dinner here on the evening of January 6. We had a table beside the window overlooking Podium Shopping Center & Manila Skyline. The place is very cozy & lovely. The personnel are very respectfull, helpful, attentive & professional. Immediately after we were sitted & given the menu, we were given some bread & appetizers. As starter, I had Lobster Bisque Soup & my wife had Seafood Tomatoe Soup. For the main course, we both had Angus Beef Sirloin Steak with potatoe chips with red wine sauce. We each had a glass of Berengere Cabernet Sauvignon red wine with our meal. The food was well prepared, warm & very delicious. This restaurant is highly recommendable.

They allowed to open the restaurant for us (with prior reservation) even if they're normally closed for lunch. Compared to other steakhouses in the metro, this is relatively more bang for your buck. The French onion soup was much thicker than I'm used to, but it was still good. It would have been better if the oysters themselves were bigger. All the sides were tasty and well-seasoned (asparagus, mushrooms, mac and cheese, fried rice). The steak was really tender and well-cooked. We didn't have space for dessert, but they were kind enough to give us a complimentary cake when they heard it was our anniversary. Our server Dondon was very attentive throughout the entire meal. This was our second visit in a few years, and we were happy to see that 22 Prime, once again, did not disappoint.

Quality of steak and the spot on service here are reasons to keep coming back. We took the unli steak offer and treated with sides of soup, salad and a glass of wine before our 200 gram steak. Steak at medium rare almost melts in your mouth. Dondon has been most attentive to our table - very accommodating to our requests and serves our next course in a timely and anticipated manner.

First impressions were just below average and although I hoped they would improve they didn’t . The restaurant is basically a way for the hotel to use spare space on the 22nd floor and looks every bit as old as it’s 19 years.
First to the bathroom which had no hand towels and a soap dispenser that was barely functioning. So after drying my hands on the back of my shirt I made my way to a window table , which was easy as I was the only diner in this half section of the restaurant at 8 pm on a Thursday. As the Muzak piped in the same 1985s tracks more commonly used in an upmarket spa, I took to the menu.
The bread served before the main meal tasted like it was reheated from frozen rather than fresh baked , and it was as dry and tasteless as cardboard .
There was also a 50 % promo off of you had a selected credit card which always annoys me because I didn’t have the credit card, so it’s one of those restaurants that relies on patronage from discount diners through affiliate marketing. For a restaurant to be empty even with a 2-4-1 promo, my expectations were low, and they were met .
When the steak came out I saw a mountain of sweet potato fries but thought they’d forgotten the steak. I had to look hard then I saw it - hidden under thin slices of Parmesan cheese was apparently 200 grams of steak cut up into small slices more suitable for a two year old than a grown man looking forward to a steak .
Makes me wonder why they bothered serving it with a steak knife . A spoon and an admonishment to open my mouth for the Choo Choo Train would have been more appropriate.
The slices were accompanied by two small mushrooms cut into quarters but I was glad for something to distract me from the meat which, whilst not actually unenjoyable , equally gave me no pleasure . The best thing on the dish was the overcooked sweet potato fries , but you’re not coming to a steakhouse for the fries .
Overall I’m not saying the restaurant was bad , but it is just tired and not good . With plenty of more modern choices around you don’t have to go far for a better steak.
The service staff, as everywhere in the Philippines , were very good . Hotel management needs to rethink this tired concept, perhaps it’s time to call Gordon Ramsay.

We ordered the rib-eve and Porterhouse for sharing cooked medium but when the steak arrived the porterhouse was over cooked, very dry and too hard to chew. I suggest to stay away from the porterhouse. The rib-eye however was cooked just right and very juicy. For me this place is over rated. Service was good though. Price wise, it was ok.

It has been 7 years since my last meal here and that’s way too long. It’s one of my favorite restaurants, so I had high expectations and they did not disappoint.
The menu is concise but still offers a wide variety of choices. We started with the baked oysters, which were delicious and I had a NY Strip for my entre. I’m from the US and used to high quality steakhouses and this was as good as any. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The potatoes our server suggested as a side were also great. Others in our group had the chicken, which looked great and was only700 pesos.
The service was outstanding from the time we arrived until we left. We had a table by the window and while nearby construction has somewhat blocked the view, it’s still good

I wanted to share my incredible disappointment with my experience tonight. I ordered a bottle of the Faustino and found it undrinkable and after tasting it, sent it back. I have done this a handful of times in my life, including at the Four Seaeons Hotel in Washington, DC but this time I was charged for it in spite of ordering a different bottle. Additionally, no one came by to tell us the kitchen was closing before we had a chance to order dessert. Finally, while the food was very very good for the most part, I ordered the spinach with garlic hoping to receive fresh spinach and instead received some weird casserole covered in cheese. Deeply disappointing experience.

We dined here for the steak. With great suggestions from the staff, we were able to order the steak that was just right size for us.
We got the wagyu steak on 250g and had it medium rare. The steak was delicious on its own but the peppercorn sauce added another dimension. We also ordered lobster bisque soup and organic green salad. The bread was warm and came with 3 spreads - feta cheese, sundried, and truffle butter.
Service was superb and attentive. Dondon was great.

22 Prime is a true gem for steak lovers! The steak is succulent, cooked to perfection, and paired with delicious sides that elevate the dining experience. Classy, yummy yet reasonably priced steak place with a great view. Kuya Dondon, our server, was warm, welcoming, and attentive. He gave us great recommendations such as the Signature USDA Steak Platter (the hands down star of the show) and the heavenly Salted Caramel Cheesecake. We'll definitely come back again!

First the reservation was never reconfirmed by the restaurant, we went anyway being lunch I was sure they could accommodate us, and they did actually have a table reserved for us.
Roll were brought out along with garlic butter, feta cheese with balsamic reduction and im guessing a tomato relish.
Next was complimentary soup, this was excellent, soup was served piping hot and how it should be, taste mild with right amount of creaminess.
New York strip steak was done right but the pork chop was a little over done and a bit dry.
All in all decent.
Dessert was very good as the Chocolate marquis was perfect, not too sweet

Discovered this hidden gem from reviews. Truly did not disappoint. Ordered lobster bisque, baked oysters, rissotto, australian wagyu, all were of excellent quality. Kuya Dondon was very kind & attentive. It was indeed a memorable dinner.

Tried their unlimited steak and was not disappointed. They first served bread that was warm and soft. They had feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and butter for spreads. 22 Prime also served salad and mushroom soup as part of the unlimited steak.
The steak itself was huge and made to our liking (medium) and boy did it taste so good!
They then served a slice of chocolate cake with was moist and not too sweet which we also liked.
As for their service, we experienced amazing service from Sir Dondon who took great care while we were dining at 22 Prime.
Looking forward for our next dining experience.

We got the unlimited ribeye steak set and hanger wagyu, and truffle mac and cheese. I loved the wagyu as it’s very juicy and delicious. My husband liked to rib-eye. We both loved our soup (mushroom soup, bell pepper soup), I even got mine as complementary. Ordered chocolate ice cream which I liked very much. And because it’s our anniversary, Kristoff, our server, generously give us free cake slice and recommended good wines to us. He also is very attentive to our needs and even gave my husband an extra wine glass. Highly recommend to dine at Discovery Suites at their 22 Prime Restaurant.

I had several dinners at Prime 22 and it was a stand out experience every time thanks to restaurant captain Kristoff and his team. A special thank you to Mark, Matt and Tom for their wonderful service. Not only was the food fabulous, the attentive and warm service made me feel special at all times. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you are not staying at Discovery Suites.
