Fresh seafood! Good Chinese food! But place needs more housekeeping and upgrade. We always eat in this resto whenever we’re at Newport Mall. Their cuisine has variety and food were really tasty. Shrimps and lapu lapu was fresh and spinach soup was delicious. However, dining for me is not only about the food. The place should be clean and tidy. They seriously need to do housekeeping as the space going through the restroom is littered with a lot of stuff. Upgrade of the facilities is needed. Sofas are so outdated and the restroom needs repairs.

Dine there on 8th Oct. Located in Resorts World 2nd floor. The food are great, delicious. Very authentic Singapore dishes. We ate: - hokkien prawn noodle, - curry fish head - black pepper crab - the best Hainanese Chicken rice I’ve eaten in Philippines You must try if you are around Resorts World

Average food. Ordered fish and crabs. It was fresh but was not impressive. The vegetable and pork dishes were over priced. Nothing special here. Go elsewhere in newport.

Visited Tao Yuan on Friday at 1pm. The food was very pedestrian. Their cold plate had 7 items on it with all the meats tasting similarly. The pork belly was tasty. The Hainanese chicken did not have the flavor that I would expect plus it was a bit bland. Overall, an ok meal. Nothing special.

We were off to a good start with Yang Chow fried Rice, sweet and sour pork and an off the Menu item salt and pepper spareribs. Make sure you ask For the price For any off the Menu item so as to avoid surprises with the bill. It was very authentic and We actually finished all of it. Servers were a little noisy, conversing about mundane things around Resorts World. Their topics were annoying yet fascinating at the same time. One Really bad glitch though. At the End of the meal, upon asking For the check, the waiters presented us with an almond jelly dessert. I seriously thought it was a nice complementary dessert, until I realized the items were leftovers, though Left untouched, from the table next to ours, from which a bunch of them were bussing. Good thing that We didnt even touch it. Maybe the intentions were good. But at the price this restaurant is charging, this should be in basic training. Leaves a Really bad taste in the mouth after such a hearty meal.

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant at Newport Mall and thought of trying Tao Yuan. The head waitress, who was Chinese, knew what vegetarian dishes should be, and made recommendations that proved to be very good. Service is very good too. Staff were pleasant.

I came here to eat their chilli crab, when I inquire, they gave me the price. After I got the bill, They said that there was additional charge on the chilli crab. Hello! Beware as I will never go back here. Not worth my time.

Food was good, ordered a small serving of hainanese chicken and a small serving of the pork belly. When I was about to pay, my receipt said that I ordered a bigger serving of hainanese chicken. I tried to clarify this with the owner who took my order, instead I got told that she accidentally pressed "half chicken" and got told that a small serving is too small anyway. I did not want to cause a scene, but seriously, if I ordered a small serving, give me a small serving! How will I be able to know your serving size when I'm a first time customer?? I wasn't even able to finish the whole serving that she gave anyway! The lady who gave my change was apologetic, but FML, this is ridiculous!

Tao Yuan is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Metro Manila. The only reason I have not been back is the tremendous road traffic to get there. My visit last night was disappointing, the order taker manager leveled up my order to increase my bill. For example, I ordered roast duck, they gave me Peking Duck. I ordered Singapore style pepper crab, they gave me salt and pepper crab. The place used to be full all the time. Last night it was only 35 percent full. The food was really prepared well and tasted good even if it was not my order. It will take me some time again to come back, or maybe never.

Back this time for: BBQ platter, Seafood in fried taro basket, Won Ton & Noodle Soup and each was yummy! As regulars to this resto, can easily attest to it being deservedly known for the quality and range of its cuisine offerings. If you're in the Resorts World Mall and have a craving for Chinese cuisine, Tao Yuan is a must!

Strolling through the Newport Mall on our last evening in Manila, we hankered for an authentic Chinese dinner. After perusing the menu, we decided on this restaurant. We ordered the bitter melon and spare rib in a broth, stirred fried asparagus in garlic and sea cucumber with large shiitake mushrooms. A bowl of rice, a local San Miguel beer and a pot of hot tea topped up our order. We originally thought there would be leftovers. Not so. The bitter melon dish was served on a warmer to keep the broth hot. The sea cucumber was the large variety but was nice and tender. It would have been more palatable if the sea cucumber and large mushrooms were cut into smaller bite size pieces. Dessert was included, a bowl of chilled melon and tapioca. Nothing special in food quality or service but can't really complain when the total amounted to only a reasonable 1,800P.

It was past 10pm, and we were looking for Chinese food for late dinner. Fortunately, Tao Yuan closes at 12 midnight. Appetizer was assorted cold cuts with asado, century egg, seaweed, etc. Boiled peanuts was also served. Main dishes included Tao's signature Hainanese chicken with rice. Also, we had crab meat with assorted seasonal veggies. This is the best dish of the night. Fresh broccoli and leafy bokchoy were truly delicious. All those food we drowned using hot house tea. Nice discovery.

Certainly, the best BBQ/cold cut platter of any Chinese restaurant in Manila... full range of Cantonese and regional Chinese (albeit, with a Singaporean leaning)... Good prices, prompt service make this a can't miss dining treat!
