Charlie's Wonton is currently the best wanton i've ever taste in the town. it is located at Haig St. Mandaluyong. we enjoy the large servings of each bowl of wanton. we also tried their Chopseuy - Rice Topping meal with fired sunny side up egg on the side. its very cheap and affordable. about the place, its kinda hot because its not air conditioned. the biggest problem here is the parking space. but i admire the staff being generous because they're giving you a bowl of soup for take out if you ask for it.

I learned about Charlie's Wonton while I was looking for Chinese restaurants near my area... well their beef wonton is really good... the Charlie Rice is delicious as well... however.. I wasn't really satisfied with their siomai... It seems like it's full of extender, I really didn't taste any real meat in it...

A favorite resto. for quick dine ins and take outs. Noodles are very good for both Chinese and Filipino cuisines. Theres ample parking and parking assistant. Good for quick meals.

My friend and I Ordered through grab, wonton noodles, beef wonton noodles, and asado siopao. We used to order before and we we’re satisfied but now It tasted totally different. Soup of beef noodle was bland, beef itself are less, too sweet and requested for extra soup but not given. Wonton noodles soup was too plain, bland taste like water. Compared before broth was tasty. I don’t normally write reviews but it was disappointing for the cost of money I have spent. Instant Lucky me noodles far better than this. I even requested for chili oil but were not given instead gave us chili sauce like ketchup. We didn’t finish the food , such a waste. Definitely will not order again. What happened Charlie wonton? Make sure you provide the same quality of your dishes so the customer will return to you.

My friend and I almost always choose to dine at Charlie's. It's just comfort food heaven! From Jose Rizal University (JRU), cross Shaw Blvd. to SM Hypermarket. Walk on along Magalona until you reach the end, Haig St. Please turn left and you will find Charlie's tucked in to your right. The food attendants are long time waiters and you will be handed a beautiful laminated menu of all your favorite Chinese picks, all cooked as authentic as it should be. My favorite is the machang. I also like congee with century egg, but alas, it's only served in the mornings. My Mandalenyo pal introduced Charlie's Pinsic--fried triangular wanton--which the kids absolute adore. You should try their different noodles and soups-- all well worth! (And I also saw some actors hanging out there as well.) You don't need to go over to Ongpin/Binondo, or to Chinese restaurants in hotels--just drop by Mandaluyong and you can dine in or take out to your heart's joy and content.

I don't understand how this restaurant gets very good reviews because the food here is not really that great and quite pricey. The beef mami is not even comparable to the beef mami sold in dangwa which is much cheaper and tastes a lot better. The siopao is good but you can find something a lot better in Chinatown. The patatim is not that great as well, just okay.. the chicken mami tasted like soap.. my friend wasn't even able to touch it and we had to have it take away and feed it to the dogs. I was so hungry and was really craving for chinese food when we got there but it did not really satisfy my cravings. If you are planning to eat here for the first time, don't expect too much or try somewhere else.

Ilan beses ko na nkikita at nddaan ang place na toh, i wanted to try it kaso limited lng lagi ang oras ko.so nagkarun ako ng tym na maggrocery sa hypermrket with my husband i asked him to try dis 1, pagdating p lng nmin walang malinis na table, hindi nmn msydo busy an mga waiter dat tym pero d nila nililigpit hanggang d m upuan.medyo nakakadismaya lng un way ng mga waiter but ng umorder na kmi kht mali ang naibigay na order sken instead of beef broccoli rice ang bngay ay shrimp broccoli rice ok lng nmn d na big deal pero un wanton mami nila super sarap same with lee ching.gud for 2 ang servings and even da siomai is very gud but again nakakadismaya lng ay un attitude ng mga waiter dun may isang table dun na an tagal tlga nila linisan kht naka ilan beses na nag remind un mga nakaupo an matindi pa pagkatpos kunin un plate ibinato lng un wet rug sa table tpos ilan minutes pa bago bmalik an waiter para linisan tlga.then un d k malaman kun guard ba un o visor na naka blue na polo at waiter eh nagaway pa sa gitna dahil sa d maayos na communication regarding sa reservation nila.OMG!!As in nagcgawan p cla sa gitna!!!grabe nakaka disappoint tlga!!lesson learn bago ka umupo mek sure na d sya naka reserve ask n lng muna ng ilan beses kc msydo busy at medyo walang etiquette ang mga waiters.

Thanks to TripAdvisor I found Charlie's Wonton. I'm always fond of noodles so when I saw the good feedbacks of this restaurant then it's just a matter of planning when I will be in the area and do a side trip to check out the place.
The special mami gives you almost all of the toppings and BIG serving. The place is always full so most of the time you will get a "wet" table. Parking space is also a challenge, at one instance, I have to order take or I will cause a traffic.

You will only notice this humble eatery through the many cars parked in front of it. It got us curious so we tried it and keep on returning since. We only ordered the beef wonton noodles. It's broth is unforgettable plus the noodles and wonton. It's so affordable for Php170.00 with big servings that is more than enough for a single person.

1) Be alert, you will miss this restaurant if you drove fast. It is setback, not much signage. How did we find it? The number of cars parked on the street will slow you down.
2) Service is slow because it was fullhouse, but the waiters were on their toes and alert.
3) It was comfort Chinese food as old circa will have it. It was the food we grew up with.....if you also know what Mamonluk and Hong Ning meant :)
4) Good value for money.

If I want beef wonton noodles this is the place I go to. No one comes close to beating their wonton offering.
The place isn't new, it's just a refurbished home so don't expect pretty. It's quite old and run down. I wish they would renovate soon to attract the younger market, though they're always full when I'm there so I doubt it.
Seriously. The. best. wonton.

I've been planning to eat at Charlie's Mandaluyong since I can remember, This resto holds a special place in my heart. My Father(RIP) used to buy my mother their wanton mami as take out and bring it all the way from their first branch at Recto circa 60's to our first home in Caloocan. They were newlyweds at that time and my mom is pregnant with you know who. Also Charlie wanton mami has been a part of my childhood as this was our to go to resto for dinner after or before watching a movie in Avenida ofcourse, with my Papa and Mommy. This is the main reason I was so giddy and happy when last two Sundays ago my partner and I ended up eating here. The place still retains it's old charm, wooden tables and chairs.. the usual 'smell' and the brisk turns of waiters and waitresses. When our food arrives, I said to myself here it goes, after more than 25 years here I am again eating the favorite food of my childhood. I ordered wanton mami, siomai and siopao bola bola... But was I missing something? It seems the food no longer as great as it was before... broth was a bit bland, wanton lacks the umami I'm used to. The only redemption I felt was after eating the siopao and siomai.A bit dissapointed must say, but still this is the resto of my youth, I won't dismissed it so quickly. I would comeback again to Charlie's and next time would try their a la carte offerings.

We didn't regret dropping by here for late lunch. We ordered beef mami and chopsuey rice (but we had the chopsuey and rice separated). The dishes were served steaming hot but it didn't stop us from eating immediately. The servings were generous - noodles, veggies, beef and even the "sahog" in chopsuey. The staff were not that cordial but we didn't have a hard time getting their attention for our orders and needs. We got our money's worth.:) We'll visit this place again to taste other dishes!
