Leave it to the fab Lorenzo to recommend a gem of an eat. It was an 11 minutes walk from the place I rented and the walk was quite refreshing. Reservation as usual is recommended but the recent Corona scare might have played as I’m fortunate enough to score us a sweet spot. Lorenz coming from the south quotes Waze at 30 mins ETA so I was like chill shuttling between a full or half bottle of their Chilean red which btw was so good. Settled for a half bottle while munching on the mentaiko fries. They did labeled it “Mock Mentaiko” so expectations for me were lowered. But it was a treat so no complain here. Their take on the Lamb Rendang with the black rice was common of the health conscious style of plating. The flavors were a little toned down to my taste. Lorenzo finished his Pomelo salad and over conversation only took him 3 minutes to devour. Was able to pour him a sip from my half bottle so there I was again wrestling with service to change it to a full one. Still gearing for more but careful enough not to overstep, we shared their braised beef pasta and cajoled Lorenz for another sip. A handful of table were there and service were quite reactive. This could elevate my review to a 5 star, something they could improve on.

It has been a few years since I last visited. I was delighted by the even warm vibe of the kitchen. The food was excellent. I went for the pomelo salad...perfect combination of flavors, generous in size. The lamb rendang waa delicious....much to my surprise I finished the whole thing. Final course was the Chocolate Earl Grey pudding. The presentation threw me but the medley of tastes was perfect. The vodka martini was perfectly perfumed with lemon and just the right temperature. All in all...well-done!!

Nice quick eats

Visited here for lunch. A busy place, noisey, but a good vibe. Kitchen is open for all to see what is happening. Menu is simple over two pages. I ordered a beef pasta and a fresh passion fruit juice. Tasty pasta and a good juice. Would have been better without all the ice in the drink.

Awful Experience

Would like to share my awful experience eating here. Although the food is undeniably delicious, the service was terrible. Very cold demeanor, rude, and unwelcoming. The experience of savoring the well-made food was thoroughly destroyed by the snooty culture festering in that restaurant. I urge management to take swift, corrective action. - Marites Hernandez

Cockroach with the food not cocktails

Yesterday I had one of the worst dining experiences, not just in your local but ever. I found a baby cockroach in our pasta that seemed to come out of the bottom of the plate when we were finishing up our meal. Not to mention their buns were over oily now, I was extremely shocked and disappointed. I killed the cockroach with my napkin and told the waiter. He took the napkin from me. He didn’t say a word. He didn’t apologize and didn’t acknowledge it. He didn’t care. That service was horrible. I wasn’t expecting a discount or a free meal or anything but I at least expected at least an acknowledgement. I was enraged. I asked for the bill immediately and left. Before going I told the staff behind the counter about the incident. I hope they do something about their cleanliness and sanitation because people can get sick with cockroaches on their food.

Your Local is Excellent for a foodie!

Your Local is a wonderful restaurant that’s pricey from the local point of view but in comparison to the dollar, very inexpensive. Our dinner which included wine cost $38. In America this same meal for 2 people would be closer to $100. The ambiance and atmosphere reminded me of Chicago. One of the benefits I love about eating out in Manila is the restaurants are competitive and will make the atmosphere outstanding. The lighting is a bit dark, but there’s a candle on the table that will help with lighting. Food wise everything we ate was excellent. I would recommend the Torched Salmon and the eggplant starter. The house Cab-Merlot was excellent and they serve it in large beautiful wine glasses, which opens the wine quicker when they pour from a new bottle.

Meal good for sharing

We shared Torched Salmon Donburi and Braised Beef Pasta. Artisan but quite pricey. But it’s a must try really, because it has unique food that’s actually good to try once. You’d have to go here for different food at a time. Luckily I ate with a friend so we got to try two at a time.

Beef rendang is still their best dish

Rendang did not disappoint. Though the Wagyu steak rice was chewy at best. Pity. I’ve always enjoyed the food here. Disappointing. If they can’t do quality steak rice, then they should avoid it.

Some vegetarian options - nice restaurant

Nice restaurant and there are even some vegetarian options on the menu. They also ditched plastic straws for their drinks after I complained/explained. Very nice. Overall highly recommended. Cafe next door, connected, also nice.

during day time you would probably have a hard time finding this place, the signage doesnt stand out. we ordered pomelo salad for starters, our main dishes tofu and fried eggs, torched salmon. the design and ambience of the place is very nice. the staff was courteous, greets and acknowledges diners. the waiter did not offered desserts to my wife or water. when they serve the salad, it spilled on the table, they should clean it up, though the server was apologetic.

Great for Lunch

Usually after working out I head to Your Local which is just across the gym. Never disappoints, great food and service. It’s quite pricey though. Their Chorizo burger is PHP595.00. So if you’re willing to splurge, Your Local’s a fit. They also serve dessert and mocktails. Great ambiance too.

The speakeasy atmosphere enhances the ambiance of this neighborhood restaurant. Inventive, tasty food ensures a repeat visit. Enjoyed the pomelo salad and the chili crab buns so much I couldn’t finish the larger-than-expected serving of Tofu Steak with black rice and fried eggs. Couldn’t not have dessert though - will order that cereal milk ice cream again!

Cool place. We sat at the bar facing the kitchen. You can actually see what is being plated. Just came for cocktails. Had some dessert, which was ridiculously delicious. Food that was coming out was visually appealing. The Chef knows how to plate food. Going there for dinner next time. Cheers.

Steak & Salmon

My friend and I went here early for dinner with no reservations and was fortunate to be seated right away. We noticed a lot of the seats to be reserved however we were there to enjoy the food and have a decent conversation. Unfortunately, the music was quite loud and the place was only candlelit. I was satisfied with the taste and presentation of the food, the flavors were not too powerful nor too seasoned. I will definitely come back, however there’s not much parking space within the area.
