Despite having opened in 204, this was the first time we actually got to try the place out, due to location and the difficulty of finding a parking spot in the area. Nevertheless, I’ve heard of multiple accounts of how extraordinary the ramens here are, and indeed the quality and service have both lived up to expectations. As a group of four, I had the tantanmen, and tasted the shio and shoyu ramens of everyone else. We all agreed that their ramen could match some of the ramen places we tried out in Tokyo, and maybe even best a very hyped ramen chain (at present). The gyoza and chashu were in no way meant to diminish the flavours, but as expected complemented the whole meal! Would definitely come back.

Just want to update my review. on my last review i said they allow you to bring in a drink and it won't be charged a corkage fee. Lols.
they now sell their own sodas, and if you bring in a soda, it will cost you 150 pesos as corkage. LoLs.
that said, some new items i've tried ... the Melon Pan with Char Siew is AMAZING. it is like the char siew bun from tim ho wan, except.. you get a nice slab of char siew that is so soft and melt on your mouth!!
I've read a few reviews saying that the staff are rude. I never found them to be rude at all.
The base broth.. my god .. it is like literally sipping liquid pork. it is that flavorful
Wait times, btw is now a fraction of what it used to be now that they moved to a bigger unit with more seats.
Btw, best thing about this restaurant: they still require you vaccination cards when everyone else lets anybody in. If you're an anti vaxxer, you are welcome to eat al fresco anyway with no wait times at all.

The staff are just so much more friendly, laid back and engaging than their BGC counterparts. They would even check on us to see how we found our meals and if we needed anything else - and this was on a busy morning.
The ramen broth was the same incredible flavor we've come back to over and over, but the gyoza dumplings were better than the ones I get on BGC. In Makati, the texture contrast is more evident, which made eating the dumplings so much more enjoyable.
This is my first time to eat in this branch, and the experience will make me return more often despite not being the nearest one to where I live. So worth it.

Second try.
Place opens at 11am.
To avoid queueing we arrived 10.50am.
16 guests were already waiting.
The restaurant has 22 seats - so we thought to be fine.
For the sake of efficiency and fast turnover we were asked to pre-order our meals while queuing.
When we arrived at the cashier to prepay our ordered meals we found that the 16 guests waiting before us had just increased to 22 as six guests jumped the queue to join one guest.
After finally being sat down - with a large crowd of waiting guests behind our backs in a relatively small space (imagine that during a time of heightened viral awareness), we had to add another ten minutes to receive our meals.
The Ramen can be described as thick, fat but rather bland.
It was not worth the wait.

I Love ramen but Mendokoro always have a line of at least 12 people . didnt take too long as the cooks prepare the food like clock work and its worth the wait. the broth alone when you taste it is magical. so rich in flavor. not just any ordinary broth, your mind starts thinking how long did they prepare, its really an unforgettable experience , their \gyoza is excellent and they had this yakisoba dish which was equally and surprisingly good. it is worth the wait believ me

Since my last visit, Mendokoro had expanded their restaurant inside, added outdoor seating and take away options. The menu now has a number of off menu items including melon char siu baos that I will have to try in a future visit.
We came to satisfy my ramen craving. While there appeared to be a lot of people waiting the turnover went quickly.
This time the security guard was taking the names and handing out the menus. We preordered, paid and was handed our ticket.
Seating surrounded the larger kitchen and it was still a beehive of activity all through lunch. One station for gyoza, char siu, ramen and soba. The ramen guy never got a break.
Once seated we handed over our ticket and the server reconfirmed our order. My only nit pick was that the people seated after us got their ramen before us. However once our order finally showed up I was in ramen heaven.
The gyozas came first and were crisp on the outside and juicy inside.
Tantanmen was a generous bowl of chewy ramen noodles in a creamy spicy soup with ground pork. The extra char siu side was thick and juicy. Nowhere else served as much meat as Mendokoro.
Mendokoro was the best I’ve eaten anywhere.

Pretty disgusted by the reason that a lady was trying to eat ramen here. Heard that she was asking for a fork but apparently they said its discrimination to ask for a fork in a japanese resto? Really? Even in Japan you can ask for a fork. Wake up people!!!
Pretty dumb rule if you ask me

Worth the wait. But they are CRAP at estimating the wait time. ”One hour, more or less, sir. Payment in advance is required”. Fine. We love Mendokoroe and an hour plus or minus fits our schedule. One hour later, I go to check. ”Sorry, sir. maybe another more or less, sir” That’s when I looked at the reservation list they manage. They log when they take the seating request and when they seat each party. And LO AND BEHOLD... very few parties (if any) were seated in less than an hour. Most were more like 90 minutes.
Dearest Mendokoro,
Stop playing us! Stop setting false expectatIons. Use the data we give you to give GOOD time estimates. I feel like we were lied to so that you could take our pre-payment. You are better than that. Please address this or you will find us on a list of those who will never come back.

Overpriced soup definitely don’t expect to get a decent size meal, basic flavours, you can find cheaper and better elsewhere

Never have I ever experienced such rudeness from the staff of a sit in restaurant like I had with Mendokoro here in Makati, the reception lady sound so condescending that I have to call the managers attention over it.

This place takes gives new meaning to the word RUDE. The staff are rude and seem to have been absent when the subject G.M.R.C. (Good Manners and Right Conduct) was taught. They don’t know how to say the words “please” or “thank you”. I spoke to the manager and drew her attention to the dozens of reviews at TripAdvisor all saying that her staff is rude and while apologetic, I couldn’t accept that this is the first time she’s learning about how customers perceive their service.

Fell in line for take out. A lot more people arrived after me. They were served first. When there was no more people left, they served my order but not after I complained. Wasted 45 mins of my life to experience appalling service. Not even an apology from the mindless drones.
