Great tasting food, although it would be better if they offered fewer dishes -- I think they are trying to cater to all palates and preferences hence the extensive menu. I had salmon sashimi -- fresh but nothing outstanding. The agedashi tofu was bland. The...california maki special was too big to fit in one's mouth in one go but was delicious. The surprise was the tuna salad (I forgot what they call it) -- very nice. They serve free iced tea (essentially a cold version of the house tea). Quite pricey but OK enough if you want to treat yourself. Service is slow especially if you're sitting at the back. Still, I would gladly go back to this restaurant if I had extra money. Try to be there early; by the time we left the place there was a queue outside. Parking is limited, but you can park (for a fee) at the nearby Makati Central Square (what used to be called Makati Cinema Square).More

The food was delicious. The receptionist mam faye was very rude and sarcastic. Very poor customer service. Very aggressive and mocking the customers. Overall experience was bad. The receptionist ruined our night

Avoid this place. All staff members are rude to customers and don’t look happy that they have JOBS and EMPLOYED during this pandemic. Discourteous to customers during phone calls and inflexible to simple inquiries and requests of customers, says won’t wait for customer’s arrival beyond...10 minutes for unknown reasons. Inflexible. Look elsewhere if you want authentic Japanese food. Better, cleaner dining and takeout experience at SUGI in Greenbelt, TOMO Japanese retaurant in San Juan, and OMAKASE in San Juan and Quezon City.More

Food is great but staff needs training. First, we were looking for a seat and tables were available and restaurant is not packed then there’s this server named Vanessa who told us where to seat because we are only two. It wasn’t really a suggestion...but a command where to seat. Second, We asked for water and she told us (Vanessa) one drink at a time while it wasn’t busy but gave us water afterwards. These servers needs to be trained.More

Very traditional Japanese food. The salmon was fresh , very tasty. The chicken was tender. But it was a little bit dark , need some more lights.

We were supposed to go somewhere to dine but the place was fully booked. So the hubby brought me to this Japanese restaurant not too far from our place. The facade was unassuming. But as soon as we got in, the place was packed. The...sashimi platter was fresh. I especially loved the salt and sweet tasting uni that we ordered a second serving. The grilled unagi was excellent, as well. And for all that we ordered, and we ordered a lot, it didn’t break the bank. Will be coming back.More

This restaurant is right across the from the hotel where my friends and I stay each year. The outside isn't the greatest but the inside is quite nice and quite clean. We usually eat lunch here after golfing. The food is quite tasty and my...Japanese friends tell me it is pretty authentic in taste and presentation. I just know it looks and tastes good. None of us has ever been disappointed by the food or the service. The price is pretty reasonable, yet padded a bit to take advantage of free-flowing tourist dollars. To be more clear, it's a bit high compared to what a local would want to pay. It is inexpensive when compared to prices in the U.S. or Japan.More

Even if we always had to wait for an hour to be seated at this full pack-restaurant, we never get tired of coming here on Sunday lunch after mass. The food is complete. There is salad, soup, spicy tuna and coffee drink that go with...our order which is very affordable. I brought the whole family there yesterday and we all went home full and happy!More

We heard that this was a popular lunch venue during weekdays so we decided to have dinner on a Sunday evening. We arrived just a little after 530 pm which was opening time and the place was starting to get full already. We were lucky...to get a table but it was already in the back of the restaurant. Its hard to pick from the extensive menu of sushi and sashimi and rice and noodle dishes . Some of the sushi which were sold per piece were not available but we were able to try a few. The tempura was a bit disappointing as it was served cold and it was under seasoned. The gindara was also not that good. I had a high expectation for this restaurant given the good reviews and the fact that this was in Little Tokyo but frankly It was very average.More

Every time I am craving some Japanese food, this is the first place that comes to mind. We got the Spicy Tuna Sashimi, Katsudon, Assorted Pickles, Chirashi, and Wagyu cubes. The lunch sets come with Miso Soup, a veggie appetiser, a small serving of Spicy...Tuna Sashimi, rice, and Iced Coffee or fruit. You can also order Chahan/Fried rice from the restaurant next door and the servers in Kikufuji will get it for you. For the Wagyu cubes, I suggest putting some salt, pepper, and Togarashi/Japanese Chili pepper powder.More

Value for money. No reservations accepted for Sunday lunch, best to be on-site right before opening at 11am on Sundays to beat the crowd and get seated.

This was place recommended by a friend who also lived in Japan... I guess we did not order the right food. Was quite disappointing but probably ok for lowered expectations. We only ordered the Moriawase sashimi, sushi platters and some agedashi tofu and potato salad....The servings were quite big, so reasonable in a sense. However, from a quality stand point, the food was poor to average: I’d say the best was the agedashi tofu and that the dashi sauce was good and tofu was soft and cooked well. There are other chains with better version though. The sashimi was disappointing. The serving size of uni was big and the taste was ok, not bad. So was the tuna. However, the salmon was pathetic. I think it was frozen salmon and thawed. Very bland taste. The sushi was similar and the rice was so-so. Potato salad was of good size serving. But far from a good Japanese potato salad. Maybe not enough Japanese mayo? For P100, can’t complain much. Net, very average to mediocre Japanese food at affordable prices.More

Seems that everyone loves this place. We were greeted by security guy outside who slid the door for us. Place was packed for lunch. Waited for a bit then shown to our seats at the sushi bar. Took a while for us to get the...waitress or anybody’s attention. Finally ordered after 10 minutes of waiting, we were then given the house salad and crunchy spicy tuna sashimi as appetisers. We ordered tempura, california maki, tonkatsu, soba, yaki onigiri and ume onigiri. Tonkatsu was crunch and juicy, I highly recommend getting this one. Tempura was forgettable. The california maki was a bit too much for what it was, more like an overkill also I noticed that the tuna was not the freshest. I could tell that it had been refrigerated for quite some time. Soba was okay, you cannot mess that up. My biggest complain was the rice, it was terrible for Japanese restaurant. Sushi, onigiri and our bowl of rice were soft and kind of mushy, big fail for me. Presentation was okay, nothing too grand but proper enough for Japanese restaurant. Given the price, I understand why people keep coming back to this place. For me I’m only gonna come back for the tonkatsu lunch set. #makangeelaMore

Sashimi and sushi always fresh served over the bar. The staff are attentive and food is served with good aesthetic value. It can get crowded so be prepared for the long wait to get seated.
