My brother and sister-in-law treated us to lunch and they picked this place. We have our favorites in New York; Seva in Astoria and Tikka Indian Grill in Kew Gardens, to name a couple. Since there were seven of us, we went family style and ordered several dishes to be shared among ourselves. For starters, we ordered a variety of naan and roti. My favorite one was the paneer naan but the butter naan and butter roti were also good. For mains: shrimp biryani (the stand out for me), malai kofta, palak paneer, mushroom matar, baingan bharta, chicken tikka masala (my next best main), chicken korma. Chicken korma was not on the menu but I asked if they could make it. It was very good however I would have preferred the chicken to be boneless. Given the number of mains, we ordered a side of basmati rice. I also tried their sweet lassi. I enjoyed that as well. For dessert, we tried the kulfi, gulab jamun and rasgullah. Of the three, I liked the gulab jamun. I would have liked to see rasmalai on their dessert menu, but hey, I’m happy with the overall experience. I would come back just to have the shrimp biryani with a side of raita again! Hope to see you folks when we visit Manila in the near future!

Four of us came for dinner and we effectively order too much as the portion sizes were on the whole very generous. We had a rogan josh but there was very little meat in it and it was mainly vegetables. That said, it and the other dishes we had were quite tasty. A bit basic on the ambience but perfectly adequate. Will definitely come back and try some other dishes on the menu to see if I can improve this rating.

Excited but let down. How? The tandoori chicken tikka's flavour ruined by too much heat and lack of discernable flavour. Location hard to find on tiny one-way street with too few signs posted on nearby Dela Rosa to help motorists and taxis. As for the naan bread, milder chicken dishes, lamb curry, very very fine. Except for the far-too-strong tikka, likely 4.5 on the food. On the small seating side, but somewhat refined dining with clothe napkins; washroom clean and smells good. Stay away from the chicken tikka A decent replacement from the two better tasting Kashmirs in Ermita and on Arnaiz in Makati (now apparently in BGC).

I recently had dinner at Mantra Indian Bar and Kitchen in Makati, and it was an unforgettable experience! Everything about this place—from the inviting ambience to the amazing food—reminded me of dining at a high-end restaurant in India. Ambience: The decor is modern yet warm, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and celebrations. The cozy vibe really adds to the experience, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. Food: We started with appetizers: King Prawns, Mutton Seekh, Paneer Tikka, and Chicken Tikka. Each one was a treat! The prawns were fresh and juicy, the seekh kebabs were smoky and full of flavor, and both the paneer and chicken tikkas were beautifully charred and well-seasoned. For the mains, we had Mutton Kali Mirch, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Makhani Dal. The Mutton Kali Mirch was a favorite—it had a bold black pepper kick that was just right. The Chicken Tikka Masala had the perfect balance of tangy and spiced flavors, and the Makhani Dal was creamy and comforting. Every dish felt authentic, rich in flavor, and expertly cooked. Drinks: The beer on tap and gin infused with lemon paired perfectly with the meal. The cocktail menu also looked interesting, with creative options that use Indian spices, so there’s something for everyone. Service: The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to offer recommendations. They even adjusted the spice levels to suit our preferences, which I really appreciated. Final Thoughts: Mantra is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Indian food in Makati. The quality of the food, the lovely setting, and the attentive service make it stand out. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, I’d highly recommend giving it a visit. Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re planning to go, I’d suggest trying the Prawn Masala, Garlic Naan, Butter Naan, Mutton Pepper Fry, Paneer Tikka, or Chicken Tikka Masala. Can’t wait to come back for another meal!

Exceptional food. Not only was the meal exceptionally delicious, it was not rich or heavy at all. This was really top league not only in Manila but perhaps also compared with restaurants back home in New Delhi.

We were recommended this place and decided to go for dinner. It’s a small an cosy restaurant with a modern decor. However, I didn’t get much of an Indian feel from the design. The menu here is very limited and is not a good representation of Indian food. We ordered Mutton Biryani, Mutton Rogan Josh, Atari’s Dhal and Nan bread. The Rogan Josh was so bland and the Biryani watery and the meat a little anemic, devoid of flavour. The Dahl was very good. Very disappointing overall. Will not return here.

Thank for your visit, regret to hear your experience with the food, it's not what we strive to achieve. Did you bring this to the notice of the manager on duty ? Why would you accept sub par food at any place let alone Mantra ? The biryani could not possibly have been watery it just doesn't have a gravy or sauce so am rather confused here. The Rogan Josh is a best seller but I accept it wasn't to your satisfaction and would gladly have made it up had you bought it to our attention and given us an opportunity to make it right. As for the decor, in your words "It's a small and cozy restaurant with modern decor" is correct and not designed to give a typical Indian restaurant feel.

Went here for a valentines day dinner and was very dissapointed the staff were slow unprofessional and all seem unhappy to be there. The food was very bland and portions small. For these sort of prices I was expecting a lot more. on the plus side the ambiance and decore were nice

First time to Mantra. Everything went well. Staff friendly and environment nice. I was alone and surprised by the serving sizes which are good for 2-3. That’s what they advertise and it’s absolutely true. Food was tasty. The chicken was not dry at all and the grilled eggplant dish was excellent. Overall a good experience. Shall return.

This was my forth and last visit to Mantra. The first two visits were both great experiences. Third visit they seated us in the second room where we received extremely slow service. The food was however good, but we did have a cockroach running around the table. Decided to give it a try again last night only to be turned away at the door because the girl I took was wearing a black dress with open toed sandals. I was like? She said toes cannot be exposed. So I was like what about high heels? Shortly after another couple came and the girl had crocs that had holes throughout the toe area of the sandal but when I brought it to the hostess attention, she said they were acceptable! We ended up at Greenbelt 3 Peoples Palace where we had a very enjoyable night.

Firstly my sincere apology with the issue with footwear, I admit my staff is most confused on what should and shoudn't be allowed.. We will fix that.. As for pests we do regular pest control not once but a twice a month.. however there are chances of them slipping in with deliveries happen.. I do hope you will give us a chance to make it right, please do look for me ( Ranjit ) should you decide to return which we would very much like.

Family wanted some Indian food, so we found Mantra along Bolanos streeg. We didn't have a reservation but no problem, they gave us a nice table. Papadoms was served, it was good. Then came our drinks, mango Lassi was refreshing with spicy Dal , and the ginger tea was a nice surprise. Chicken makhani and biryani were very good that we actually finished it all. Husband appreciate that when he asked for a glass of wine and it didn't seem new, they gladly replaced it without any questions. A big thumbs up. Well definitely come back again.

Nobody told us when we booked a table tonight (and they should have!) that there was a party of around 30 guests who'd booked in the same section as us. This group seemed to feel that they had the whole restaurant to themselves and occupied the space as if there was no-one else in the room. From our arrival until the time we left their noise was deafening and completely drowned out our attempts at conversation. The food and service were fine, but the staff as a whole seemed to accept this behaviour as if it was normal and acceptable, which it most certainly was not. We'd been looking forward to trying Mantra, but our experience was spoiled by this group of selfish individuals and the inability of the management team to control the situation.

Hello Sir , we do apologise for your experience, more than one attempt was made to lower noise levels but beyond a point there is only so much we can do. Will will, for future events try and ensure large groups are either seated in a separate section or outdoors. We do however hope you will give us a chance to redeem ourselves at some point in the future.

I really love the food and I give it 5 stars. Th3 establishment can probably upgrade the lighting inside and outside as ot kinda bright and very even. Would be nice to dim the lights so as to enhance the atmosphere.
