Many of the reviews of Jovita seem to be by local residents. Some describe it as hidden away. Most are positive. I agree on both points. I discovered Jovita by chance when I was visiting the Philippines and staying at Ranchotel, a hotel opposite. I have done a separate review of Ranchotel. In Batangas I think Jovita and Ranchotel are actually closer to the port than the city centre. There are other hotels but I didn’t see any other restaurants or cafes in the vicinity. I wandered in and had some decent coffee there early in the afternoon and caught up with my email. That set me up for a slow stroll into the centre of Batangas city to see what was going on. Later on in the evening I was pleased to see that Jovita was still open. I sat down at the same table and had some beer. Then I ordered a grilled salmon dish, which was nice. Then having acquired the taste I had some more beer. Next, feeling satisfied, I staggered back over the road to bed and slept like a baby. The Jovita staff were very friendly. They seemed to speak good English too. I liked the fact that the restaurant could be used to just stop for, or take away a quick coffee, have a snack, or a full slap up feed. The clientele when I was there seemed mixed. It’s pure guesswork but I think some were work colleagues socialising and others may have been students from the nearby university. I think I was the only tourist and felt welcome. Unfortunately I didn’t go for breakfast in the morning but maybe next time.

I love visiting this little Cafe/restaurant. It offers great food, comfortable seating and a quiet atmosphere to relax and enjoy whatever you need to do. Prices are decent for the portion sizes you receive so I have no complaints anytime I visit. Highly recommended if you're in batangas city.

We tried their place in front of SM City after dinner. Place was almost empty. Coffee is good but the lava cake was dry.

Went to Jovita Cafe for early dinner after Sunday mass across the Holy Trinity Church and SM City Batangas. Very short walking distance. Food was affordable, generous serving, warm when served, although there was a short waiting time, made the kids impatient. There's enough cake slices to choose (refrigerated display) from for dessert. Parking area is not so big, but courteous security guard was ready to help.

It's my co-worker birthday when i went here for the first time. Even I'm from the batangas city, i didn't know that there is a cafe near SM batangas and trinity church. We ordered breakfast meal because we were from night duty. I liked their food. They gave us also free fries for the celebrant.

I never thought that this is actually a good place to dine. Food tasted good and mocha frappe is also great. Got my margherita pizza and buffalo wings. Will definitely go back.

Being from Batangas City, we frequently visit this place. Its ambiance basically depend on the crowd present. As it is near a university, sometimes it is quiet noisy and loud. But there are times that it is good to go here and catch up with your friends. The employees are kind and helpful. If your taking time to order, they might suggest some foods. The price is basically the same as that of the high end cafes. Their food are quiet enough for me. Just enough for a decent meal. The parking can be gruesome specially during late afternoon. They have a very limited parking space so sometimes i have to park on the opposite road. I heard they are expanding in Pallocan, Batangas City. I hope they have a different ambiance there and a better parking area

Everytime I'm in Batangas City, I always stay here for breakfast or just a cup of coffee. They have rice meals, pasta, sandwiches, cakes and pastries aside from their offer of coffee, tea and juice. Restroom is clean with a supply of toilet paper and liquid hand soap. Parking is limited to approximately five vehicles only. They have free wifi too!

Food is not as premium tasting as it was a year ago. Pesto is too oily and the plate is literally swamped with oil. Seafood pasta needed more seafood and overall experience was not as good as it was a year ago. Disappointing.

The standard and ambiance of the leading coffee shops are there, only the price difference. You must try their sandwiches and pasta. The order is delivered on time and freshly cooked. I would recommend this to all especially passengers and tourist that would be travelling to South

Ate here so many times already and the food always amaze me. It's nice that they added a little more menu dishes like rice meals and so, and they're good too! Ceasar salad was my favorite until they lessen the serving size of it. But still, it is worth a try. Next is their pancake and waffle, the times when they add caramel syrup over it. But I heard that they don't anymore. But still, there's more from their menu. I didn't try their cakes and pastries knowing that they're from outside.

very slow service. I experienced getting my food after an hour and 20 minutes despite the fact that the place has only few customers. their average serving tie is 40 minutes. their staff also needs to improve in terms of customer service. in the evening there are some mosquitoes. Sayang, if only the service and serving time can be improved i'd give them a rating of 4.

If you find SM City Batangas too crowded try this one, its a nice place, great for snacks and lazily spending time with friends or just having coffee. They have sandwiches and cakes too.
