No reservations so come early because it gets full really quick. We were able to get a teppan table and it was just fun and good food. We had the set menu of beef, veggies and salmon. Serving was huge so 3 of us shared...one set. We ordered salmon sashimi- super fresh, shrimp tempura- was alright and California Maki- yummy. For the teppan set- we upgraded the white rice to Japanese fried rice- highly recommend this.More
Always a treat eating at Hamada. The service is top notch, sashi are always fresh and the tepanyaki is a show it self. Continue doing what you guys do.
Had a great experience at this restaurant. The staff were super attentive and friendly. Food was really really good! Although I wasn't so fond of the tempura but the other food especially the fried rice was extremely good! The only thing I didn't like about...this restaurant is our clothes smelled like food but that's really how it's suppose to be. Must try restaurant in BaguioMore
Had dinner with my friends while their spouses were attending a conference at the Baguio Country Club. Our teppanyaki cook gave a good show. We enjoyed the steak and prawns teppanyaki.
Food was good and priced very well, its not great but for the price its good enough. They have ramen good enough for two, free appetizers which changes. Service was friendly and swift. Kid friendly and very clean. It has a cozy atmosphere.
We were the only customers on a quiet Thursday lunch. This was my first time here and I've heard many who rave about it, but perhaps because our party of three only ordered simple rice meals and a salmon sashimi, they could not offer much...to impress us. Will give them another try next time.More
Had a late lunch at Baguio Country Club’s Japanese restaurant. The resto is located at the ground floor. Resto’s space is not very big so be sure to have a reservation before you go there. There was no spicy tuna or salmon sushi in the...menu but the resto accommodated my request - and quite fast! Really appreciated the accommodation. I also ordered the chicken katsu - loved it- tasty and really crisp. My colleagues ordered the noodles, kani sushi. There are lots of choices for rice toppings, too. Their ramen is also good. Prices are fairly reasonable. Good, attentive service. Better ventilation maybe esp during summer. Baguio is generally cool but can be warm at some points of the day.More
I've been do dozens of Hibatchi/Teppanyaki restaurants and Hamada would rank in the lower 10% of them. I was quite happy with the atmosphere, the service, the performance and even the price was within an acceptable range, but with one exception, the food was bland...at best. Mind you, I don't mean bad. It wasn't bad at all. It just wasn't good either. I strongly suspect the culprit for this culinary mediocrity is could be overcome with an overhaul of the types and amounts of sauces used. If I ever go to Hamada again, I see no alternative to taking my own ginger sauce, seafood sauce and plenty of gochujang. Those three would likely raise my rating by two stars. The one exception mentioned earlier was the fried rice. I can say that it was hands down some of the best fried rice I've ever come across. It isn't enough to stand alone, but it was enough to prevent the meal from being a complete write-off. As I live in Baguio, I will likely try Hamada again in a year or three. I only hope they come around to revamping their bland approach to what is supposed to be a highly rich and savory meal.More
Got invited to eat here.. very memorable Food- Always Fresh Taste- the best Value- Pay the money to eat here.. its worth it
Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Too many people. Service is very slow. Food was fast but not really good. Don't order sashimi cuz it's not fresh since stocks are coming from Manila. Hamachi was really bad. Fresh frozen. Tuna was 1 week old. Sorry...but its true. Tried angus steak but its a bit well done. Very sad dinner. Cost us 7k for 5 pax.More
We tried the teppanyaki table at Hamada since most of us were looking for a different flavor while in Baguio. Japanese food is not that common in Philippine mountainous areas due to the limited supply of fresh seafood but the choices made available at Hamada...did not disappoint. The set teppanyaki menu at Php 2000++ per person is worth it considering the serving size and the quality of the dishes as well as the skill of the teppanyaki chef.More
The Tepanyaki tables are quite entertaining when the cook performs many tricks before serving your food. The Japanese dishes are excellent.
Clean place, Good food and reasonable prices for Japanese food. Had Tempura Shrimp,Sushi and Fried Rice and all was good
We always look forward to dining here, as the staff are very efficient and friendly. The food is excellent too.
