Authentic Chinese at the City of Pines

A Chinese restaurant at the ground floor of The Orchard Hotel in Legarda Road, Baguio. As it was the holidays, it was a very busy restaurant even in the evenings. All their dimsum dishes are great, and also their Yang Chow fried rice. Who would not love it? It is a meal itself with the generous ingredients. They offer Buy One, Take One on selected menu items - although perhaps they only do so before their closing hours.

Good food!

Had take out here before and we were really happy with the food. Today we decided to eat lunch there. We were seated promptly. Most of the staff are friendly. Again, a lot of servers here but we always had to try to get someone’s attention to ask for something. We ordered kuchay dumplings, XO siomai, king chef fried chicken, some stuffed “patola” with vermicelli noodles and fried rice. All the dishes we ordered were very good and reasonably priced. The mango almond dessert was good too. Of course we’ll go back, it’s really close to where we live too.

Best Chinese Resto in Baguio City! A HIDDEN GEM

We dined here with my friends last Summer and we were amazed by how this restaurant treats its guests, food and overall dining experience. Truly worth every penny. Looking forward going back this Summer again.

Poor service, salty food.

Terrible experience. Service was extremely poor. They have a piece of paper with all the orders, however they still manage to miss half of the items we ordered. When we asked again for our missing items, they never arrived. Asked for soy sauce multiple times, and never received it. Not sure what kind of Chinese DimSum restaurant doesn’t have soy sauce readily available, but honestly didn’t need it since the food was salty and left me begging for tea or water.

Hidden gem in Baguio

The restaurant is a hidden gem in Baguio. I didn't know that King Chef has a branch here in Baguio. The superior quality of King Chef was still in the Baguio branch so I really enjoyed it with my friends and family.

This is a basic Chinese restaurant comparable to the Hap Chan chain: basic Chinese cuisine, bare tables and chairs and fair enough service staff. Good for a quick meal with family and friends.

Food is good, Service is great

The food served by King Chef is no different from most good Chinese restaurants out there but what I believe is a distinguishing factor is their service. The staff are well-trained and courteous.

My wife's 39th Birthday

The luscious presence of sweet smelling pine trees makes my wife,s birthday a memorable one. I take pride in their manager/owner who is very humble enough to greet my wife and visitors.He made us comfortable during our meal and even sent a complimentary decorated fish jelly dessert. The food is delicately prepared and served piping hot.It is certainly a pleasant sensation in our palate. The restrooms are updated but the parking is a bit small. Nonethess,ambiance,food and services are unmistakenly superb.👍

They serve fine price for great taste and choices of food. While waiting for our order, i saw a glimpsed of their kitchen and I’m completely satisfied that they have a clean food preparation of food. Value for money food price.

Took us back to our days in Hong Kong

Great Cantonese food and well worth the trip here. We stayed at the hotel and extended PRIMARILY because of this restaurant (I am not a fan of Philippine food, unfortunately). Dimsum and other choices (especially at breakfast) were PERFECT. Definitely check it out.

Bokchoy with Mushrooms - yum!

We went there on a weekday over lunch. We had a reservation for 15 people but we were 20 when we went there. Staff were attentive and immediately adjusted on the increase in numbers. The restaurant has no ready area for big groups but that's okay. I super love xiao long bao so that's what I wanted to try first. It tasted okay but the wrapper tasted starchy - same with the siomai. The buns (no fillings inside) and suman like rice (served with condensed milk) are heavy so I suggest that you eat a little bit so as not to destroy your appetite. The sweet and sour soup is as expected - loaded with ingredients and all. I love the bokchoy with lots of mushrooms (yum!) Beef broccoli was tender and crunchy fresh. The pancit was loaded with squid and shrimp so that's a plus on them. It was a bit hot and no available fan - some of us were sweating (it was probably because we were so energetic trying out the food). They were accommodating when we informed them of the last minute Senior Citizen Discount when we were paying the bill. It took awhile to adjust the bill but that's acceptable. Overall we enjoyed the experience and the new flavors they offered us. We'll definitely be back.

They have an excellent service and they serve very nice food. The price for each food costs more than the average, but I guess it's okay. I just wish they had more parking.

Best Dimsum Place!

Super yummy dimsum and affordable. They have dimsum promo from 2to5pm daily. Love the siomai, hakaw and fried prawn dumpling. As for the drinks, the hot milk tea is perfect, especially on cold days in Baguio.

Good and affordable Chinese food

This place is located at the lobby of a new hotel. They serve good Chinese food at very affordable prices especially from 2 to 5 PM where everything was 50% off.. (not really sure if this promo is still on). Ambience is good, service was fast and friendly. Can get a bit crowded but that's a sign that it is really nice in here.

Good food for a good price

We ate here a couple of times as it was across the street from the Holiday Inn. The food is serve fairly quickly and the staff is very friendly. Ordering is strange at first, check boxes next to the food you want, and give the paper to the waiter but otherwise, it has a great variety of food to choose.
