I have to agree with everyone . The portions are quite huge ! If you're going with kids under 12 , one main course is good to split between them . I was there on a Wednesday night and by 6:30 the place was packed...while all the other restaurants on the block were completely empty . Unfortunately , all the customers came at pretty much the same time , so the waitress took a while to reach us . With a little patience we received our food .
3 people had the Chicken Schnitzel which was very good . I ordered the Veal Schnitzel which was pink in the middle . WhaaaaaT ? Schnitzel is supposed to be pounded thin . None of our Schnitzel was pounded thin and when you come from Austria , you really expect to get a thinly pounded Schnitzel . Although the thicker chicken version was liked by my guests , I couldn't say the same about mine .
The restaurant offers two generous sides with each dish . I ordered mash potatoes ( although we were told they were real homemade mashed potatoes , they tasted very watered down with not too much flavor ) My second side was the German potato salad . I was expecting the Austrian version of boiled sliced potatoes with red onion & vinegar . The German version is with the addition of bacon . The potato salad I received was with pickles . It wasn't bad .... but not what I expected . The overall experience was a simple ok . Nevertheless , looking around we saw some amazing dishes which we'd like to give a try . They have a wonderful large Pretzel (Laugenbrezel Octoberfest style ) served with wurst and there were also lots of different dishes with various types of German style sausages . The Flammkuchen flatbread is not the authentic one , but still looked good . This place is great for Beer , Sausages , Brats , and big portions . If you want a real Authentic Schnitzel though , you'll have to go elsewhere.More
