Started coming to this restaurant after my trip to Germany. My family and I tried many of the dishes but my all time favorite is the chicken schnitzel with a side of mashed potatoes and the cucumber salad. But, everything is very tasty here! They...also have a great selection of beers and everyone is nice. Side note: During the pandemic we stopped going to restaurants, as we slowly started going back many of them had lost the quality of food except Max. Thank you Max for doing a great job on the quality of your foods.More

NOT INCLUSIVE of all types of human beings, very unwelcoming of a mixed group, never again as I have never felt such a horrible sense of being unwelcome

I miss my grandma's potato soup so I took myself to Max Bratwurst yesterday. Ordered the Bavarian burger and a dry cider. There were a few minor issues but a great choice for a future dinner party. Don't go too late -the wait time for...service is can be up to 30 mins. Social distancing was ok. I don't think putting fresh fries is very acceptable these days. Why wasn't it just added to the burger takeout? Will I be back, yes!More

We arrived first and our companions were a little bit late , we ordered beer and some chips to keep us going. When everyone arrived we did order proper food with more beer .Everyone was happy with their choice , the food was delicious, the atmosphere...relaxed and happy, our waiter was very attentive and courteous. We had a lovely night, we left when they closed the restaurant and overall was a very pleasant evening. The food is authentic German , the sausages were good and the meatloaf was appreciated by our friends .More

I have to agree with everyone . The portions are quite huge ! If you're going with kids under 12 , one main course is good to split between them . I was there on a Wednesday night and by 6:30 the place was packed...while all the other restaurants on the block were completely empty . Unfortunately , all the customers came at pretty much the same time , so the waitress took a while to reach us . With a little patience we received our food . 3 people had the Chicken Schnitzel which was very good . I ordered the Veal Schnitzel which was pink in the middle . WhaaaaaT ? Schnitzel is supposed to be pounded thin . None of our Schnitzel was pounded thin and when you come from Austria , you really expect to get a thinly pounded Schnitzel . Although the thicker chicken version was liked by my guests , I couldn't say the same about mine . The restaurant offers two generous sides with each dish . I ordered mash potatoes ( although we were told they were real homemade mashed potatoes , they tasted very watered down with not too much flavor ) My second side was the German potato salad . I was expecting the Austrian version of boiled sliced potatoes with red onion & vinegar . The German version is with the addition of bacon . The potato salad I received was with pickles . It wasn't bad .... but not what I expected . The overall experience was a simple ok . Nevertheless , looking around we saw some amazing dishes which we'd like to give a try . They have a wonderful large Pretzel (Laugenbrezel Octoberfest style ) served with wurst and there were also lots of different dishes with various types of German style sausages . The Flammkuchen flatbread is not the authentic one , but still looked good . This place is great for Beer , Sausages , Brats , and big portions . If you want a real Authentic Schnitzel though , you'll have to go elsewhere.More

A real down to earth German restaurant, right off the street. It's right on the corner but blends into the other storefronts, so walk slowly or you'll miss it. It does provide sidewalk dining and the place is small but has an outside feel. The...wall are decorated with all types of German signage to give an "old country" atmosphere. The kitchen is very visible and looks really clean. The fare is modest and simple but well presented and delicious. I would go for the Hähnchen schnitzel. The sides are first rate and I enjoyed the Käsespätzle, which is a German Mac and Cheese. The potato salad is really German, made with vinegar and pickles. They have a really nice authentic beer selection and the Apple strudel should be sampled. The waitress was efficient and friendly as well. We really enjoyed it.More

Came here right from the airport. Sat outside , people watched , drank a great beer, ordered the Swiss mushroom burger. It was cooked to perfection, meat was tasty, fried were fresh. Since this place is know for its brats we ordered the cheese bratwurst...and it was flavorful and moist. I’d come back here for sure.More

Overall good food and great atmosphere. The Spätzle were outstanding!!! The service was very good. The only negative were the Potato Pancakes, very well done, even hard to cut, but smothered in sour cream and Apfelmus it was ok. If you are a German, expecting...German sized plates then you’ll be a lil disappointed with the portions, the Schnitzel are not the size of your head as you may be used from a Bavarian Schnitzelhaus :D.More

Was working in the area and stumbled upon this place for lunch. The atmosphere was great; place was clean. Day 1 lunch was awesome: had the schweineschnitzel (fried pork cutlet); the gurkensalat (creamy cucumber salad); the MÜNCHNER KARTOFFELSALAT (potato salad with vinegar) was disappointing- was...good but usually German potato salad has white vinegar and bacon. This had pickles and curry... not quite what I expected. Friends had various things which they had no issue with. Day 2: ordered the KLASSISCHE bratwurst... PORK bratwurst. It was a big PINK BEEF hot dog. I told the girl that pork bratwurst should be white, this was pink. She refused to acknowledge that. And, the menu said $8.50, we were charged $12.00. I didn’t say anything because I’m just realizing that as I write this review! So... if you want a REAL brat, make sure you ask which one to order, cause I’ve been eating them and buying them from German butchers my entire life and this was NOT A BRAT!More

Only a block from where I live. Finally wandered over with family and we had a delicious meal. I am part German so I can be picky. No complaints here. They had different selections of wurst as well. You can order the sampler plate. There...is a good selection of beer. Prices were good. I highly recommend it.More

This place is not a stogy old German place. It is hip with great food. Started with the pretzels which where big and fresh not (restaurant depot like other places). Soft on inside and crusty on outside. Potatoes pancakes were crust goodness with homemade apple...sauce that had real apple pieces. The main course which there were three of us cleaned the plates! Wurstplate had yummy beef and farmer hot, with generous sides of red cabbage and sauerkraut. Brat was great on a crunch and soft pretzel roll and carmelized onions that were great. Veal schnitzel was tender and not a morsel left. The chocolate mousse cake was a great finish. Parking is not great but worth it. Prices were reasonable. Ohhh and the beer- cold and great selection. Priced right to try several or get a stein and you are good for the whole meal. Definitely coming back!More
