We've always wondered about this place. It was Ok. Somewhat dated inside. We were there just before 5. Had to sit in bar since dinning room didn't open till 5.

Selection was great! Food tasted great! Portions were a little small for the price, but it is a resort town! Staff was friendly!

Excellent service! Fast and efficient! 6 of us dined here last night while traveling and we dine out together very often. All selections were on the mark! From the tasty escargot and hot peppers with vegetables ( my husband loved these, yay) to the trio,...rack of lamb, surf and turf, and filet mignon. The staff was wonderful and friendly and the owner did stop by to check on our satisfaction with everything. Dessert was yummy too! Customer service to be proud of... would definitely recommend and will return in the future.More

Recently had a dinner there with 8 people. I realize that this is a tourist town but the prices were exceedingly high for mediocre food. Entrees ranged from $20 for simple pasta to $40+ for seafood or steak. None of the 8 thought their dinner...was above average and most thought is was less than good. The service was okay and the drink prices were fair ($6 for a beer or glass of wine, $5 for a mixed drink with well liquor). There were only two vegetarian choices.More

My wife and tried Cavallario’s on our trip to Alexandria Bay. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was delicious. Since we didn’t have reservations, it took about 30 minutes to be seated. I recommend making reservations, if you can, so you don’t have to...wait.More

I've never had a bad meal, mixed drinks are good too, seriously why chance it, yes you will pay a good buck for dining, but you leave actually happy and "yes I would go back", versus saving what 5 / 10 dollars a person and...get bad service and or bad food, very good servers on their game, and the kitchen knows quality, when in ABAY I will always go here for at least one meal.More

We both had the sirloin. The steak was really tough and lacked flavor. I had to drudge it in the bed of mashed potatoes for flavor. The cesear salad I had before the meal had soft lettuce, as if the salad was dressed beforehand and...put in the cooler. Paying $35+ for a meal I expect a very nice dinner. We sat outside only to have flies swarming us. Yes, understandable that sitting outside you deal with some flies and bugs but they were constant and many. Supposedly they did not receive the correct shipment of straws but I did not find that out until I asked for one. I would assume after putting the drinks down the server would volunteer that information. I've been to many high quality steak houses and have no problem paying for a great steak but this is not one I will be returning to. When you have prices like this on the menu, you also expect the service and establishment to meet that level as well.More

If you order any steak well done it is not typically tender, nor was it $35. Unfortunately we can't control mother nature or her flies..

I expect a steakhouse to meet certain standards this one didn't even come close. The dining room doors were left open to the outside because it was summer. We fought flies while we were eating the entire meal. I thought I had ordered a sirloin...steak it wasn't must read the small print on the menu carefully. They charged extra for bread and you got one small loaf. I expected more than one small loaf like maybe a second one before dinner. The only good thing I can say was the staff was excellent. IMore

On a recent visit to Alexandria Bay we made our annual dinner plans at Cavallario's. We have been coming here for the past thirteen years. My wife ordered prime rib, extremely rare. What see received was medium well. Instead of telling us that rare cuts...were not available she had to order another item, after all other entrees were delivered to our table. The waitress apologized but no member of management showed up at our table. When leaving the restaurant after dinner my wife stopped and told the hostess about what happened, her comment was "well you didn't have to pay for the prime rib you sent back". That's correct we didn't and we were not offered anything for the inconvenience. I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant but they have lost our business, we'll never return.More

I would hesitate to eat out with anyone with nut allergies that severe. Even if it's not in the dish sometimes it can be in the kitchen and that could be enough. Call them and ask but I wouldn't take the chance.
