One of our friends was craving nachos. This was down the street from our hotel and had a very inviting open air atmosphere when we strolled by in the afternoon heading to a conveniece store. So in the evening we walked down and got appetizers and a round of drinks. The food was excellent so we decided to order a main dish and I think we surprised our waiter, but he got out his order pad and took our orders for 8 people. The food came quickly and I had excellent fish tacos, the best I've had since Puerto Vallarta. The prices were less than "tourist trap" restaurant about 8 -10 per entree and the quality was amazing. We would have gone the next day for lunch but we we leaving in the AM. Go check it out, you'll leave happy.

Amazing food. The chef has so much respect for the ingredients used. We’ve traveled the world and this is the best Mexican food we've had. We had nacho sampler, red snapper with mango salsa and a pitcher of Margherita ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much!!!!

Pros:
* Friendly servers
* Apologetic for forgetting to bring us an item at end of meal and charging us. Got the item to-go: no problem
* Tasty food & large menu
* Fun, festive atmosphere with beautiful ocean views from cliff side
Cons:
* We visited on Makha Bucha Day (Buddhist Holiday), which meant no sale of alcohol (and no margaritas). Not the servers’ faults but it was still a disappointment because we wanted margaritas
Summary:
* Tasty Mexican & Thai food located a half-mile from Thavorn resort. The wife and I were pleased with our meal and the friendly service provided

Well, i was quite hyped after reading some reviews here and i understand that the taste are different from person to person. But from eating more authentic Mexican in US (not an American but lived there 5 years) i was a little disappointed. First, it was not bad but not great either. We had 2 starters and 2 mains. Both starters where mediocre (potato skins and tacos, maybe 3 out of 5) but the Tuna salad was really good, close to a 5. The quesadillas a solid 4. Anyone that can count gets an average of 3,75 with this. But, the prices are too high for what it is. We had some drinks to this but 2000 bath with a little tips are way too much in our opinion. This takes it down to 3,25. It started to rain when we where about to leave (waited for bill) so everyone forgot us, and started to run around like crazy and move tables. We tried multiple times to get attention but even if waitress saw us they where prioritizing new customers and looked away. After 15 minutes we caught a waitress (tried to wait patiently) and asked to order 2 more drinks since rain was pouring down. It took 20 minutes to get 2 drinks and rain already stopped when we got them, and they where also tasteless even if they looked good. (Mango something). The ending drops it to a 3 and nothing more. Some parts good, some parts not so good..

I have been eating here for a a long time, but now it has just got too expensive. Last night we had 3 chicken tacos (always good), 1 chicken quesadilla (heavy and greasy) and chips and salsa (not many chips, small dish of salsa). With 2 waters, my credit card was charged $32 USD (there was no 3% credit card fee)

We recently moved to Kamala Phuket and were looking for a great Mexican food place that could compare to what we had in California. This place did that and then some! The views are incredible, and staff was amazing but most importantly.. the food! We had the grilled fish tacos and nachos grande. The fish tacos were HUGE and the fish itself was fantastic! Crispy and well seasoned, no frying needed. This was my fiancé’s meal, I don’t even like fish and even I thought they were great! My nachos were very large and delicious as well. The prices may be a bit more than some of the Thai food places but the serving size more than makes it worth it! I would recommend this spot for anyone, couple or families, who are looking for a great dinning experience.

Food was excellent. Great views.
The menu we were given clearly stated the prices of our dishes. When it came time to pay, we were surprised when the bill was about 15-20% higher than we were expecting. When we challenged the price, the staff argued and showed us another menu, which had a different price to what was stated on the bill, and was different to the price we had originally seen in our menu.
They would not honour either the price we were originally shown, or the price on the first menu they showed us with the lower prices. It took them looking through multiple menus to find the price they wanted us to pay.
They insisted we pay them the highest price on any of their menus despite their own inconsistency.
On principle, it was a very disappointing experience as we feel they were dishonest and deceptive.

Have you ever had that feeling where the foods so good your just at your happiest eating it? That’s how I’d describe this meal. I asked why it’s so good and was told the chef trained 15 years in Mexican restaurants.
To discover this here in Phuket was a gem, then to add the decor, stunning view and service it can’t be faulted.
The staff on arrival offered to call our driver when we finished, assisted with menu choices and were attentive.
The food, tacos, potato skins and enchilada was 10/10 and hands down the most delicious Mexican meal I’ve ever consumed.

The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering meals. We ordered spicy tuna salad and of course “must try” tacos with shrimps. The food was mediocre for the price and unfortunately it is not even close to authentic. Tuna salad main ingredient was canned tuna and A LOT of celery leaf stalk. Well and those famous tacos… they had almost all the right ingredients on the plate but it was not prepared properly... guacamole was off (large chunks of avocado mixed with salt, tomatoe and thats about it), sour cream was grainy (not sure why, maybe wasn’t stored right), jalapenos tasteless and not spicy at all and regarding tacos itself - it was just a wrap with lettuce, few veggies and tiny size shrimps. There is a place for improvement. The positive thing about this place was location and fresh margaritas!

We went here to celebrate our son’s 16th birthday as Mexican food is his favourite food. Salsa Mexicana did not disappoint!!
What a breathtaking view from the restaurant, particularly the sunset.
Portion sizes were large and managed to fill both our teenagers 😃 with 1 main course. The prices you see on the menu are what you pay at the end - there was no extra 10% + 7% on top like in other places.
The restaurant caters to vegetarians. The veggie tacos was better than the veggie enchiladas I ordered (the latter was ok to eat too but just the melted cheese was not to expectations).
Both the salsa, guacamole tasted fresh.
We had sticky rice mango pudding and fried vanilla ice cream. Personally the sticky rice mango pudding was a highlight of the meal!
In terms of prices, they are similar to what you would pay for instance at a 5 star resort for a main course (we stayed at the Le Méridien) but for the portion sizes and a birthday dinner, it seemed ok.

Great little place on the side of the road between Kamala and Patong. We walked it from our hotel (Thavorn Beach village) as we got a little tired of the hotel food and we were pleasantly surprised. They serve quality Mexican food with top notch service at a good price. We went in the evening so it was pitch black and couldn’t see the view but I’d imagine it would be beautiful during the day for lunch. Definitely worth a visit for the tacos alone.

This is such an amazing place. The foods just out of this world and it’s really quick service so you order and it comes like 10 minutes later. Also the homemade chips they bring at the beginning are so addicting and good definitely 10/10 place.

We ate here around 3/4-ish in the afternoon just after we done a trip because of the time the restaurant was very quiet. There was only us and another two tables. The views from this restaurant unreal it was lovely.! The food was very nice the quesadilla my favourite, I would recommend this place we enjoyed it and I think the atmosphere would be a lot different on the night

Incredible views and the best Mexican in Patong. 🇲🇽😍 So much flavour! Mexican can be tough to ace, but WOW, Salsa Mexicana has got their recipes perfected.
It’s such a beautiful restaurant and the aesthetics remind you of a water front city in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta). Definitely recommend, can’t wait to come back! 😍🥰🌮

We and large group of friends enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Salsa Mexicana today! We started with some tasty mango smoothies. Everyone's dishes were fantastic presentations of flavors and colors, with excellent taste to match. The staff was outstanding, graciously handling multiple checks with our party. Their kindness and attentive service made for such a great experience. Oh, and the views out to Patong bay are amazing from your seat. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
