Over the concrete wall we climbed. Up past the empty shacks . But we found it . The food was really good , and cheaper than the hotels . The spring rolls were lovely, the pad Thai was the best I have had in ages..., and the wife had a chicken burger . Said it was delicious. The price included two large beers was 650 bht, would go there again , the only word of caution,, I got bit by mosquitoes, should have had long trousers on .More
Coming to Tonsai, we already knew that we wanted to go to the legendary Mama’s Chicken. With the rain, it was very hard to find the path behind the big puddles. We tried again on a sunny day and it was a jackpot - the...portions were big, everything was delicious and the chicken burger was simply worth dying for. I think it was the best burger we’ve ever eaten in our lives (seriously!). In the end, we ordered 2! For 3 dishes and 2 big cocktails we paid 410 THB. Don’t be scared how the surroundings or the place look like - just go and you won’t regret it, I promise. I wish we could have gone more times! TIPS TO GET THERE: 1. There’s a concrete path straight from the longtail boat dock at the beach. 2. When you’re walking on the beach, walk along the wall between 2 resorts (Tinidee and Tonsai Bay resort). There’s going to be a path on the right side of the Tinidee’s pool. Follow the path along the wall, at some point you’ll have to turn left. This is where you should see a ladder to jump the wall. If you’re staying in tonsai you must go here! The food is so good and really cheap prices, especially for the fish, which is so good! Walk to the end of the wall and then turn left up the path into the jungle. Don’t worry,...you won’t miss it!More
Probably the best thing I've found in Tonsay after the pool in the resort. The only one that still has thailandese price and a tasty food (I've ate really good in the restaurant also but the price was definitely expensive) really great friend Rice and...chicken burger but still have some dubs about the Thai pancake and the big one. The first too poor and the second too dry. In general satisfated to have spent my money there.More
This was our favourite place to eat breakfast, lunch and also dinner during our stay in Tonsai. Every time we went for dinner somewhere else, also on Railay, we said ,,Mama does better".
The absolutely best food you can get and the best place to be in Tonsai. No Tonsai tummy and delicious as it can be. Great atmosphere and great team.

100% worth the walk to Tonsai. This is such an amazing little authentic resurant, full of heart and great food to boot. Amazing veg options (the tofu burger was astounding). Great icy cold drinks and a really nice culture. Very affordable and would be cheap...at twice the price for this food.More
Aside from being just down the road from paradise this place is awesome for chicken burgers. Sometimes we just need western comforts done well and this place is perfect for that. Massive burgers and really fair prices too. Can't sing the praises enough. Big love!
Mama’s Chicken was the highlight of our trip to Tonsai. We talk about Mama all the time. That fried tofu burger! It was a dream come true! If you squeeze a little lime juice on it with mayo you’ll be walking on air. Mama doesn’t...fool around. She only delivers the goods. The papaya salad and shakes were also great. Mama's Chicken is a little bit off the beaten path, but well worth the time and effort to check out. I thought the fruit shake menu was great (I had a couple), the food is inexpensive and large portions. The people are nice here and...very friendly.More

I have to say that this was some of the best food I've had on my entire trip; seriously!! I can be skeptical about places like this but absolutely incredible! My little sister has severe allergies to peanuts, all tree nuts, and all seeds. They...totally understood everything and she had no issues at all which was shocking because we had more problems at more upscale places. I highly recommend mama's chicken. The BBQ chicken is awesome, the pad thai is the best I've ever had, chicken burger, cashew veggie dishes. Mama made my trip to Tonsai so much better.More
Ate here everyday when I visited Tonsai beach, the shakes are so good and pretty big and of course the chicken! The fried chicken burger is served with two pieces of delicious chicken and had us coming back for more. Also had the massaman curry...and Thai pancake (how can they do SO many things SO well?) there is a good amount of seating and you’ll see that they really pump out a lot of food, you may have to wait at times but it’s worth it. Just sit back, relax, and wait for the comforting food!More
The chicken is the star. Full of flavour and tender. Any fried noodle or pad thai is very good as well. Cheap and nice. You must go there!!
